Pros:

Clear Skin, Less oily skin.

Cons:

Water retention

I suffered from acne since I was 15, until one year ago, it got really bad. I had used a lot of treatments including tons of antibiotic and it never helped. Until my doctor gave me diane35 about one year ago. In the first 3 months nothing happened. But after that the skins get better and better. Now my skin has no acne, even though i put much less effort to take care of it (I dont go to facial anymore, and it's sure safe money). I gained +/- 3 kgs since i take this pills from water retention, and it is much harder to make muscle. (I train in the gym almost everyday +/- 2 hours a day). I think it is a trade off for losing the acne.

Pros:

well, it's birth control.

Cons:

weight gain (15-20 pounds). some pretty bad depression. major mood swings during the first few months.

skin took forever to clear, and is still not completely clear. still have period pains.

Pros:

Clearer skin and birth control

Cons:

I am a hormonal psychotic mess... Weight gain, bloating, cysts instead of acne

Only take this pill if you can handle being a crazy lady! 2 months in my skin looked fabulous.... then.... I started getting cysts in place of pimples and my mood is all over the place! I've turned into a horrible, short tempered, crying person... I'm only on this pill to reduce the side effects of a cervical ectroption and as soon as they cut the bastard out I'm getting off Diane-35...

Pros:

Clearer skin....Nooooo ances anymore

Cons:

Low sex drive
Gained a bit of weight - i love it because i was very thin

I hated my skin, but now i have my confidence back. I have been on Diane before and it worked wonders. This is my sixth month this time and i''ll be off Diane and only use it when the need arises.

Pros:

less oily skin, no more acne brekouts, less facial hair and better looking skin, bigger breasts and lighter periods

Cons:

mood swings, feeling depressed and crying very easily, back pain, head aches and a constant food craving = lots of weight gain

it actually helped eliminate my acne in about 4 months and i continued to take it for 8 more months. i had no brekouts during that time but the side effects became unbearable so i stopped it. the food cravings and weight gain were the worst. i gained more than 5kgs! i also cried more often sometimes for no reason at all bottom line is it works but once you stop ( which you should after 6/7 months) acne comes back. basically you end up right were you started and yes the weight comes off too!!

Pros:

cleared my skin a bit
Reasonable price w/ a health plan

Cons:

pimples come back (not consistent)

I have been on it for three weeks, my skin will be bad on my forehead one week and the next it will be okay, then its bad again. I am on differin at night and clindoxyl gel in the morning. I don't have severe severe acne but it really bothers me :( Has anyone else experienced this!? Also, I cannot accurately recommend this b.c I havent been on it for too long.

Pros:

clears acne ( in 6 wks for me )

Cons:

bloating, headaches, thrush, cant come off it easily, health hazards ( dvt / stroke etc ) weight gain, mood swings.

I have been on this pill for 8 years. When i went on it i had tried everything to rid myself of really serious acne. although my face has been clear many years now i still remember having a mirror full of puss everyday and tight hot painful red acne all over my face, its was so emmbarresing i had no life. This pill was a miracle for me, my skin gradually cleared untill at aprox 6 wks i had no spots, wonderful feeling i can tell you. This pill is a miracle for any acne sufferers out there but is not without a price ( see side effects ) my problem is now i wish to come off this pill i cant seem to. By 5/6 wks after i have stopped it i am hit by the most crippling depression, i have written my suiside notes...seriously, I have tried 3 times to stop now and on each occation this has happened untill i give in and start taking again. I cannot understand this and really dont know what to do. I wish i had never started on it now and would swap and have my acne back in a heart beat.

Pros:

got rid of my acne, I have the odd pimple.
boobs grew (i have small boobs)
periods were lighter and less painful

Cons:

depression
little bit of weight gain
really moody when pmsing, first period i had when using it i was in the hospital because my cramps were so bad. but i think its like that for everyone the first time they use it

It makes you really confident with your skin. It took 3 months for it to start working on mine. I used to have really bad acne on my face and back. I dont even have to wear coverup now! :)

Pros:

Did clear up skin, some healthy weight gain

Cons:

Very large breasts, acne came back after I stopped, very expensive if you don't have a plan.

Was on Diane for over 2 years and my skin WAS perfect but not long after I went off of it and switched to Yas my skin broke out and I then totally went off all forms of BC after being on Yas for two months...not taking any my skin was OK not perfect but just ok. Now I've been taking Yas again for the past 3 months and my acne has become unbearable so I'm switching mid month back onto Diane I guess. I know this is not a review for Yas but man what a horrible pill. Not only is my skin breaking out but I have headaches now, I've gotten skinner, and I'm very irritable. GOD I hate acne, why isn't there a cure yet?!?!?!?!? I can't just stay on Diane for the rest of my life lol

Pros:

As far as I know, it still works as birth control (I hope)

Cons:

Increased breast size (34C to 34D), back pain (due to the increase in breast size), breast tenderness (bad, to the point where not wearing a bra for a day will hurt), mood swings, decreased sex drive, no effect on acne, PMS bloating

This product just does not do anything good for me, considering all the side effects. I have been using it for three years and only in the last few (three or so) months has my skin cleared up, due to a combination of my ageing out of my bad skin period and a new regimen of cleansing and moisturizing. While I won't say that this product flat-out doesn't work, I have seen numerous side-effects in myself that I didn't have with my previous birth control, with no additional benefit to my skin. Some of my negative side-effects could be seen as good (breast growth) but overall have had negative impact on my life. My biggest caution is that women should track their moods when on any hormone pills, but especially Diane. I have found myself experiencing extreme mood swings that have taken me close to true depression numerous times. Scary in a pill that's prescribed to already unstable teenagers! I was lucky and went on it when I was 18 but if I'd been younger, it could have ended
