Pros:

Only on month two so still hopeful.

Cons:

The worst skin I have ever had consistantly, at least before I had a day with OK skin, since I have been on this it is constant bad skin, only on my cheeks. Very hard to deal with.

I will give it another month. It seems like it should get worse before it gets better but we will see. I will not go past 3 months if I am still dealing with this. My skin was not this bad before so it's not worth the wait longer than that.

Pros:

Regulate periods, pregnancy prevention, acne control

Cons:

nausea, stomach cramps, feeling sick

I have only been on this pill for 4x days (afrter being off the pill for over a year? my doctor prescribed this to treat adult acne after a stressful 6 months which had brought it on. I am only going to give it another week as i dont know if i can handle the nausea and wanting to vomit along with stomach pains. I was previously on Dianne 35 of which i didnt suffer from any of these symptoms.

Pros:

Not pregnant (even though I missed a pill here or there). No weight gain. Greatly helped PMS/PMDD mood swings! Has not decreased my sex drive.

Cons:

My face started to break out, and I didn't have acne before. Severe leg cramps and breakthrough bleeding that is almost constant.

Good for prevention of pregnancy, though that might be because I'm bleeding all the time. I've been on it for 3 mos and am switching soon if the bleeding doesn't stop.

Pros:

Less acne, clearer skin.

Cons:

Severe, severe stomach pains in the abdominal region, feeling weak, didn't help with pms, breast tenderness throughout my 3 months of taking it. Bloaty stomach that won't go away!

I work out 4-6 days a week, eat a good diet and I still have this constant bloating with this pill. I am also getting severe stomach, and back pains, that I haver had before until Yasmin. Yes it has helped my skin become clearer, but these pains make me want to go to the ER. I have a doctors appointment soon and I think I will go on Spiro and leave Yasmin in the wind! I can't take feeling like I have gastric flu everyday, especially when my life is beginning to be something again! I am no sexually active, so sorry can't help there. Not doubting the pill, because it does work for some, just not for me, which sucks, cause I heard this pill was the best, next to Yaz! Take it for 3 months, if you don't see a change, move onto something else. I also got this from Plan Parenthood for free!

Pros:

Shorter, lighter periods

Cons:

BAD acne, depression, anxiety, feeling like I'm going crazy, weight gain

I have been on this pill for about 1.5 years. I could not figure out why I was breaking out so bad and then I started reading these things and realized it must be my pill. My doctor is in love with this pill and when I suggested that I didn't like it, she strongly urged me to continue it because it's good for acne (I didn't have any before I started it!). IT might be good for some people but NOT ME!

Pros:

Cleared Skin, No pregnancy

Cons:

Frequent Urination, moodiness at first, but subsided -- see Bottom Line

I used the generic, Ocella. I gave this pill 3 months, and it came through wonderfully. Months 1 and 2 were rough, but my skin has not had any new breakouts in month 3. I was having bad mood swings, but happened to get a blood workup from the doctor and found out my Vitamin D was EXTREMELY low. I started taking prescription Vitamin D supplements about the time my 3rd month of Ocella started, and the mood swings went away completely, and now my skin is clear. I'd recommend this to anyone who has hormonal acne. I'm 26 years old.

Pros:

No weight gain, bigger chest, hair and nails seem healthier

Cons:

Mood swings more often, nausea constantly, having to pee a lot, HUGE initial breakout, appetite is huge, heavy periods

I just finished my first month so maybe this is too soon to review. I take Ocella, which is the generic of Yasmin. NOTE: OCELLA AND YASMIN ARE MADE BY THE SAME PHARMACEUTICAL LAB AND DO NOT DIFFER AT ALL EXCEPT IN PACKAGING AND YOUR BRAIN THINKING IT'S DIFFERENT. It ain't. It has a big initial breakout, I had lots of deep whiteheads and cysts and it's bringing them up. I'm having to deal with it but my skin seems to be healing which I can wait for! It is working. Made my chest bigger which I don't need because I'm already a 34DD but hey if you're flat it helps. It made my hormones out of control, but it's getting better as time goes on. I would suggest this brand, but STICK to it for at LEAST 3 months. I am improving and my hair & nails seems so much healthier- must be the estrogen. A really good pill, get the generic if you're strapped for cash, works exaaactly the same.

Pros:

sure it might clear up your skin while you're on it

Cons:

once you get off it your skin will be worse!!!

People, birth control is NOT a good solution to acne in my opinion. Once you go off it it messes up your hormones so bad that your skin will be WORSE than when you started! I had flawless skin before and after I was on the pill, I stopped it 2 months ago and am experiencing acne like i've never had in my entire life. Its all around my chin and mouth and must be caused from the birth control. Look at the other categories in this forum and you'll read plenty of stories like mine

Pros:

clears skin for the most part, minimal side effects (compared to other B.Cs), haven't gotten pregnant, regulates periods, comes in a pretty purple pack :)

Cons:

BAD cramps and headaches, doesn't seem to help too much with PMS symptoms, having to take a pill every day sucks, and continually skipping the white pills to not have a period - you will still bleed and get it anyways!

I've been on this pill since I was 15 and have been wanting to switch because it doesn't help me much with PMS symptoms, i still get pretty bad cramps and reallyyy bad menstrual headaches. but after reviewing different kinds of birth control online for the past 2 hours, I think this is the best stuff out there. I tried Microgestin FE for a week and it turned me PSYCHOTIC - uncontrollable crying, bitching out friends/boyfriend/family members, extreme depression - but after reading reviews basically any pill can do that to you. fortunately, this is the one that turns me the LEAST psychotic, so i'll stick with it for awhile until i maybe try Yaz instead! :)
