Pros:

made my skin very clear and cleared up blotchy skin i had on my shoulders and the top of my back. face became less oily almost immeadiately. doesnt make me emotional or ill.

Cons:

WEIGHT GAIN!

I went on this when i was 16 and i have been taking it consistently for 2 years. All i asked for was a contraceptive and the doctor asked if i wanted one for skin naturally i said yes to make my skin better. i never had acne but i did have the few spots here and there. in about the 2 years i have been on it i have gained 28 pounds!!! i dont know whether that is down to the pill or whether ive just gained weight naturally but i just kept to always notice my weight creeping up by a couple of pounds each month. if you easily gain weight i strongly recommend to avoid this pill!!

Pros:

Clears up large amounts of acne on places like back and shoulders and stops some of my face acne

Cons:

Severe weight gain over the 6 months - almost 2 stone.
Increased breasts in a small amount of time meaning they are painful
Horrid moodswings and borderline depression. Tiredness, short temper, horrific headaches, the list is endless

I wouldn't ever recommend dianette to ANY of my friends nor enemies. It's the worst thing i think i have ever done to my body and has left me basically emotionally scarred. I don't think the same nor do i act the same, i lost a relationship because of the fact my paranoia just increased for a week a month and he couldn't take the change he was seeing in me. I would kill to have the old me back and i really think this pill has ruined me as i'm only 16 now and going up 2 dress sizes isn't what any teenage girl wants to have to suffer.

Pros:

Bigger/less tender boobs
Slightly clearer skin

Cons:

Tiredness
Emotional
Mood swings

I have only been on this pill for 2 1/2 months, there was a slight improvement in my skin (i only suffer with spots on my upper back), however when i stop taking the pill for the 7 days whilst i have my period my spots come back worse! My Dr said it can take up to 3 months to see an improvement. I hope they clear up before my wedding next year!

Pros:

My acne did clear up and my periods got lighter after years of being off school or having to go home early during that time of the month.

Cons:

However, I have noticed I have been tireder, more emotional, can get very down and have a sick feeling quite alot.

Hearing all the possible severe side effects and the way I feel is making me want to come off Dianette. Although what I am unsure of is how exactly to come off it, do you have to wait to the end of a pack, get your period and then just not go on it again or how does it work? Help would be gratefully appreciated :)

Pros:

I have been using Dianette for about 4 years now, I tried many many different pills and they all gave me spots, this is the only pill that works for me.

Cons:

It causes slight water retention towards the end of the 21 days but this is usually normal with any pill. I came off this pill for 6 months and the first ovulation was very very painfull for about 5 hours. The next time was normal.

A great pill that stops grease production and got rid of any spots. I wouldn't say any off the symptoms were any different to other brands.

Pros:

Worked well with roactutane and my skin is better then when i was on other pills

Cons:

Blood clots

I went on this while taking roactutane a few years ago and it did the job i was on it for a few years ( since my doctor didn't tell me u need a brake from it as it can be very dangerous blood clots etc) but out of all the birth control pills(and i have had a few) i found this 2 be the best effective i still get spots but its better 2 control now

Pros:

Clear skin...more confidence

Cons:

Increase in appetite leading to weight gain!

Dianette takes about 6 months to work and clear your skin up so just be patient! My skin is spot-free now! Just a little worried about the consequences when coming off the pill.

Pros:

Clears skin slightly...that's it

Cons:

WEIGHT GAIN! Mood swings, sore breasts

I was put on Dianette by a Dermatologist for 3 months after trying numerous antibiotics and every produt under the sun. Wish I'd done some research before hand, but never thought I would have a problem with weight gain as I'm a health freak and work out around four times a week. Within he first couple of weeks my skin had become less oily and started to clear up a lot more compared to previous medications I'd tried. I did however gain around 10lbs in this 3 months despite watching what I ate and regularly exercising, and my boobs increased a cup size. The weight gain severley lowered my self confidence and made me a bit depressed too. As an acne treatment, It's proabably the best I've been prescribed, but personally the side effects were too much to handle...3 months was more than enough!

Pros:

Less facial hair, controlled oily skin.

Cons:

Make me very nauseous, didn't make my skin that much better I got worse spots if anything. Make me very moody and loss of sex drive. Make me very bloated.

I took this for about 2 years and I will never again go near it, I want to go on another pill for contraceptive reasons and I'm very wary after this pill. This is pill was definitely not for me.

Pros:

Can't really think of any pros.

Cons:

I've been taking Dianette now for 6 weeks - no improvement in skin, thinning hair, moody.

I'm thinking about quitting on this pill. I was advised to start taking it for my acne by my doctor. If anything, my acne has gone worse and I have very sore red spots on my cheeks and around my jawline and chin. The spots are really painful and hard and if I squeeze them I just get grease coming out and they end up worse! I have been using the Clear Skin starter kit from Selfridges which is supposed to be America's best selling acne traetment and I have still not got any improvement in skin appearance. I'm also loing my temper at the smallest things and feeling utterly depressed when I should be feeling fine. This is the worst pill I have ever taken and I'm not sure whether to persevere in the hope that my side effects will calm down and my skin will improve or whether to cut my losses and stop taking it.
