Pros:

kept acne under some sort of control
bigger boobs!

Cons:

mood swings, lethargy, depression
migraines and severe headaches
when you come off it, which you have to eventually, skin goes crazy, much worse than before

knowing what i know now, i would never have started taking this as the cons outweigh the pros in my experience. my advice is: try everything else first. don't take it if there's a history of DVT in your family, and if you do take it stop immediately if you get a migraine - my doctor assured me when i was 18 that i could keep taking it despite the migraines but three months ago ( i'm now 25) a different doctor took me off it because migraines are a sign that blood flow is affected which puts you at greater risk of stroke.

Pros:

Reduces oiliness of skin and hair and therefore for me decreases amount of new spots forming.

Cons:

Not a complete cure, bloating. Been on it so long im not sure what was the pill and what wasnt.

I was on dianette for nine years for acne and came off it twice for a couple of months to give my body a break. I went back on it about nine months ago so i could go on isotretinoin. Each time i've come off it i've noticed much greasier skin and hair. After completing a five month course of isotretinoin i decided that however scared i was to come off my security blanket-dianette, now was the time. I started getting spots again soon after coming off isotretinoin but decided to still come off dianette. I dont know whether its just my body settling down but ive been off dianette for two months now and my skin is awful!

Pros:

Cleared up spots wonderfully, skin less oily

Cons:

Weight gain, spots did come back after around 6 months being off Dianette

Dianette really cleared up my skin, was practically a God-send seeing as I've suffered with acne since the age of 12/13 (I'm 18 now). I was on it for around 6 months during which time it worked great for my skin, however it did make me gain weight, around a stone and a half. I'm naturally very slim and was only around the 7 stone mark when i started taking it but the weight gain, although not drastic, was still unpleasant as I'd never had a problem with that before. I came off Dianette after around 6 months, skin stayed clear for another 6 months but I then found the spots came back suddenly, although granted not as bad as before. Ive now starte taking Dianette again and in just a month my skin is so much clearer.

Pros:

First time I took it skin and face hair cleared up, came off for a while and when started taking it again had no effect on spots or hair

Cons:

Bad mood swings, only worked for about a year effects wore off.

Have to take this tablet for about 6 months before you notice any effect. I found after having a break from it to escape from mood swings which were horrendous, the tabletever had quite the same effect after this break. Spots never cleared up completely and hair has come back. Makes you put on weight too. Would only recommend if spots aren't too bad.

Pros:

After suffering since age 9 this is the only drug that cleared my skin. Took a few months to do the job but consistantly kept me clear. Skin less oily too. Boobs got bigger which is always good!

Cons:

When I stopped using this for a few months and went back onto it I had mood swings and suffered with being very irritable. When I first starting using Dianette I gained weight

This worked really well for me. I stuck with this for 7 years and only came off because of the mood swings. Unfortunatly my acne came back and I am now back on, onto day 3 and already irritable. However, due to the vengance that my acne has come back I going to look at different ways of adjusting my mood and let the drug do its job.

Pros:

Dianette was a miracle for me. I have suffered from acne since I was 11 and nothing shifted it. I went to different doctors and tried various different treatments and nothing worked. I went on Dianette at 17 and it was a miracle - perfect skin.

Cons:

Now I'm 25 my Dr took me off Dianette. I went to another Dr who refused to put me back on as I'd been using it for so many years. Since then my skin is back to its worst and I've tried 2 different treatments and nothing is working. At my wits' end.

Get it while you can. Dianette increases your appetite, not necessarily your weight so be careful. Be mindful that one day your Dr will take you off it - I am very angry about this - and the likelihood is your skin will return to normal. I'm struggling to control mine now and I'm so frustrated I can't use Dianette again, it was a life-saver for me.

Pros:

I had horrendous acne, worsening as I reached late 20's, I had given up going out with any sort of confidence - Dianette changed my life - I could actually see my skin for the 1st time in 15 years. At 33 I came off Dianette, skin is OK at present!

Cons:

Bad stomach cramps for the 1st year, no sex drive, bad water retention, put on a stone in weight.

The fact that my skin impproved so dramatically, was a far bigger benefit to me than any of the drawbacks above. To me it transformed my life and my confidence, however I stopped taking it 4 months ago, I am very worried about my acne returning, however my periods have not returned either which I will need to address at some point.

Pros:

Gets rid of nearly all spots.

Cons:

mild depression, nausea, headaches

I was on Dianette for two years prior to having my son. I felt fine, my mild acne (caused by PCOS) cleared up and i thought it was fantastic. After finishing breastfeeding i decided to go back on it and have taken it for 10 days and since day one have felt numb, down and nauseous Also smells which normally wouldn't bother me are making me feel sick and my sense of smell seems to be stronger. In fact if i didn't know better i'd think i was pregnant as it feels just like the first three months my pregnancy - but i'm definitely not! I have decided to stop taking it tomorrow as i feel awful, hopefully it won't take too long to be out of my system. I'm guessing the change in hormones after having a baby has made me react differently. Having spots constantly is horrible but not as horrible as i feel now and if i am miserable all the time it's not fair on my poor (but very understanding family). Fingers crossed.

Pros:

clear skin for s while..bigger boobs

Cons:

seemed to become immune to it after 2 years, getting spots where i never used to have them whilst on it. didnt notice any weight gain

well this really worked for me, cleared up my skin, made it less greasy...after 2 years though im sure the spots were coming back when i was on it...so decided to come off it at the new year, my skin was fine for 4 months but now started to break out..when back to the doctor who has given me antibiotics.. starting to clear up but was thinknig of going back on dianette for contraceptive use as well, after reading everyones reviews i am abit scared!!!!!
