Pros:

Cleared all spots from face back and chest, skin less oily, boobs bigger, higher sex drive.

Cons:

Have put on some weight.

I've been useing dianette for years lost count to be honest but probably about 7 or so. I noticed the difference pretty quickly with regards to it clearing up my skin. I would say the only negative aspect has been weight gain but I couldnt be sure thats from dianette to be honest. I've never had headaches or any of the other negative symptoms other people have described. I've stopped taking it a few times to see what would happen as obviously I dont want to take this forever but within a month I've got really greasy skin and spots returning, and my period pain is crippling, feel moody and down. I've decided I'm going to stay off it for longer 3 months and see if those problems regulate themselves.

Pros:

So far I have been on it for just over 2 months So Far, my skin is starting to get smoother and less bumpy. Shorter, less painful periods. Works well as birth control and less thinner body hair

Cons:

Still breaking out but I think its cause my skin is cleaning out alot of gunk i had underneath the surface as I had alot of small skin lumps that had built up sebum in them. I cry more easily & put on about 5 lbs

Well I still have a couple more months to be on it, so i cant say for sure if it will work or not. My skin was quite bad before with small bumps underneath the skin surface also with larger pimples and cysts so it may take longer to work as my skin was so bad. I don`t feel depressed although I cry more easily but thats not a big deal. I put on a bit of weight but its almost gone as I started eating better and working out more. I hope my skin gets flawless as i have been getting pimples since i was 13 yrs old so having clear skin would be amazing. The only thing is here in canda it is more expensive as far as birth control goes.

Pros:

clears some peoples skin

Cons:

your acne usually comes back when you come off it, sometimes worse than before

This pill is banned in America, take that as you will! this pill never worked for my acne, i think it even made it worse, but i stuck with it for a few years as i needed thee contraception. I would not advise anyone to take it. especially not if you are very young

Pros:

After taking Dianette my skin was like babies. Completely smooth and free from spots. I could even pile moisturiser onto my face and not get a spot. Could not belive it, it shortened the time it took to get ready as there are no spots ot worry about

Cons:

Extreme depression during the pill break every month. Extremely thick discharge. Took 3 months to begin working. Hot sweats. Extreme modd swings. Basically everything about this pill is extreme, including the results with your skin.

The bottom line is this; the pill has excellent results but cannot be used long term as research is inconclusive on possible problems. When I first when on it I felt like I was pregnant for about 6 months and wasted lots of pregnancy tests, it completely altered my body. I have been off of the pill for 2-3 weeks and have extremely greasy hair and spots all over my face which I am very upset about. I was falsely under the impression that your body wouldn't 'remember' how to make you all oily and spotty again! Wrong, the spots are back but it is to be expected as I have inhibited my natural hormones for 2 years. If your spots mane you depressed I would strongly recommend Dianette as your answer. If you get a few spots at your time of month that annoy but are not life threatening, dont bother with it as you'll only be more upset when you eventually have to come off of it. Use with caution and take properly as it is a strong pill.

Pros:

Skin completely cleared...only the ocassional spot around period

Cons:

Not long lasting

I posted in august saying i was about to change dianette, well that happened and i changed to marvelon (doctors recommendation). The first few months were going great with only a few breakouts, but i had noticed a few more blackheads than usual, and my hair started to go greasy very quickly. Now it has been four months and my skin has deteriorated like mad, i now have acne just as bad as before i started dianette. I am devestated and going back to the doctors on friday to beg to go back on dianette. Hopefully i can go back on it soon and have clear skin once more!

Pros:

Clearing up of acne

Cons:

Slightly more emotional

Since my last message, I have now been on Dianette for a full 4 months and am now seeing an improvement which is such a relief. I haven't really had too many side effects - just a bit more emotional that usual (I'll cry at anything!) a my breasts a slightly bigger. There's still a way to go, but I'm hoping that in another couple of months I'll be totally clear. Really looking forward to being able to go out without make up. I'm considering using a sun bed to clear up the red marks left by old spots, but maybe I should just stick it out as they do fade naturally. I will report back in a couple of months - hopefully with continued good news. I would recommend this pill to anyone considering it - as long as you're not prone to depression. I think it's worth a try and sticking with for at least 4-6 months... you have to give these things time to work. Good luck to everyone battling with acne!

I'm into my 3rd month of using this, and my periods are far more regular than they were. I have mild scoliosis, and whereas my back pains got worse around my period, they're far better than before. My skin did get better during the first month, but now is worse than before i started taking the pill. I've also found that my breathing isn't quite right. I suffered from asthma badly as a young child, but have outgrown it to a certain extent. However I've needed to use my inhaler at least twice a day for the past few days, and during the first few days of going on Dianette. I'm definitely going back to my GP to change this, but i'm not sure whether to wait til i finish the packet. I'm only 15, and this is the first pill i've tried, so i'm not sure that the side-effects are bad enough to change to another, which could potentially be worse :S

Clear skin but side effects
Within two weeks my skin was completely clear, I no longer had extremely oily skin, my hair was a lot less greasy and I could go much longer without washing it! Was on it for a year and a half. However: 1. I started getting diarrhea every period (I had never previously before had it in my life!) and this was triggered by anything unhealthy/fatty so I had to really watch what i'd eat on my period. Came off the pill and haven't had it since. 2. After about 8 months to a year I started getting hot flushes more and more, I was putting it down to nerves but it got to the point where I was having 10-20 hot flushes everyday and my face was going bright pink- very embarrassing. Came off the pill and within 2 days they stopped completely. Overall I would recommend it for short term use

Wow really?! I didn't know you could stay on it for 2 years. Are you in USA or UK? In the UK it's not recommended for more than 2 years I believe. I went on it for 4 years and had no side effects though.
