Pros:

None

Cons:

Chalky, hard to swallow, broke out in Hives

It sucked for me. Its disgusting and they are like horse pills. I am now allergic to it after taking it for so long and break out in hives with 10m after taking.

Pros:

Cleared acne on my back and the little bit I had on my face cleared up very easily

Cons:

But girls have to remember, this is an antibiotic and for me it caused reoccuring yeast infections.

I loved this pill because it really did do wonders for my acne. But, the side effect of having TONS of yeast infections was very uncomfortable to the point that I had to stop taking the pill. Have yet to find a better method of acne control, though. But, I still would not recommend because of the pain it ended up causing me.

Pros:

I was prescribed this medication for 7 days (4 500mg tablets daily) to help an infection from a bug bite. It immediately helped reduce the itching, redness, and swelling of the bite. No side effects experienced.

Cons:

I have never had horrible acne before, very midle. But, after taking this medication for 2 days, I noticed that acne on my face actually worsened during my prescribed time on this medication.

Worked to resolve the issue it was prescribed for me.

Pros:

I was on minocyline for about a year & it quit working. I've been on cepalexin for a week & it seems to be working well so far. I like it because It's a little cheaper, I have no diet/sun light restricitions (like before) & I only take it once a day

Cons:

It does have a little bit of a bad smell, but if you just pop it in fast followed with some water it's not so bad. I have experienced some itching where I have current breakouts, but it's not constant so it's tolerable.

So far it's working okay, but my acne is not all gone yet due to how short of a time I've been on it. I'm hoping that if I stick with it on a very regular basis is should be effective.

Pros:

This medication helped prevent infection around stitches at the same time it cleared a cough, and cleared some of my acne. This is the second time an antibiotic of this kind has worked so well on both my skin and in my lungs. The first one was Ceclor

Cons:

The particular kind I have requires that I take it 4 times a day, which is hard to keep up with. It does smell horrible, but in a capsule, I don't have to smell it long.

Some people on the forum sound like they have had allergic reaction to it, and this worsened their condition as it irritated their skin, but overall, this antibiotic and Ceclor come with the highest recommendations from me. My acne was never very severe, so I wonder why some doctors were hesitating to give it to patients who did not have "cystic" acne, when it seemed to work so well on me. Maybe the risks outweigh the benefits with a strong antibiotic on the overall health of the body, when it comes to treating less severe cases. I do not know. I wish you all the best of luck.

Pros:

I'm sure it would work if I could get past that smell

Cons:

I can't get past that awful smell

I guess I'll have to remain nauseous and sick from the smell while it works...........ugh!

Pros:

Works. didnt have the stomach aches other talk about

Cons:

i guess smell? doesnt bother me really tho.

i was in a bad skateboard accident. i broke my wrist and had cuts all over my back(no shirt on). i was put on this medicine to kill the bacteria that was probably in the cuts on my back from the tar getting in there. while on this, my back cleared up almost completely and i was not afraid to show people my cuts (i usually keep my back covered all the time due to my gross backne). face was basically completely clear as well. i went back to my doxycyclin after that weeks dose, and acne got worse. now doctor re-perscribed cephalexin and im gonna see if this will work like it did before.

Pros:

I was put on it last year and all my acne went away if I took it religiously. I had cystic acne and it all went away. Unfortunately during November of 2008 my acne started coming back around my mouth. My doctor told me I had perioral dermatitis and I

Cons:

It doesn’t start working instantly, and when I take it, I burp and it tastes bad. It’s totally worth it though. You don’t need to change your whole life to take this medicine.

This pill worked wonders for me and I am thrilled to be back on it. Everyone is different, but hopefully it works for you :) Just remember to stay positive and consistent. You will get through this :)

Pros:

been taking for 4 to 5 days now i think. Im pretty sure its helping. but i have been going tanning in tanning beds so that is also helping dry my acne up.

Cons:

it smells. i have been experiencing really uncomfortable itching where my brake outs are. Im thinking this is happening becuase its killing the bacteria? im not sure though if anyone else experiences this let me know! :]

its pretty affordable. I know it is helping but i also am doing many things right now to clear my skin so i cant say that its the number 1 thing thats doing the job. but i am going to continue to take it because im pretty sure it is helping. you also have to be pateint with stuff like this im sure we all know it doesnt go away over night. But i noticed i am having less break outs and the new pimples i do get are significantly smaller and heal fast. Its just the itching in my break out area is very uncomfortable...is anyone else experiencing this?
