Pros:

clears skin well and makes it look glowing and fresh

Cons:

i took this antibiotic for 18months and it cleared my skin well however in this time i was also unaware of the very upsetting side effects it caused (explained below)

i began taking these antibiotics twice a day for mild acne, it cleared my spots and made my skin clear overall. However during the duration of the course i began to gain weight slowly, bearing in mind that i am only 5"2ins! i started off weighing 7st9 (my recommended weight) and being a size 6 to 8, over the 18months, i became 8st5 and a size 10. i was very bloated, uncomfortable and could not eat what i wanted without it showing badly and resulting in a bloated tummy and a spare tyre! this as you can probably imagine made me very upset, i had severe mood swings and nausea. after 18months i switched to tetracycline and went back down to 7st8 within 2 to 3 months, no bloating recently i have tried erythromycin again and for the past month have gone back up to 8st, am bloated, and have not had my period. (which is extremely distressing and worrying). i am very very anxious as to whether the antibiotics are causing this and am going to my GP to try and switch back to tetracy

Pros:

Works superbly well for me. Used to get pus filled pimples. Erythro clears everything right up. Skin is smooth with perhaps one pimple per month (before period)

Cons:

The moment u stop usage of erythro, the pimples come back with a vengence.

Acne is a never ending batrtle unless your bodies hormones decides to sort itself out.

Great medication to clear up your skin. But of course, as all acne medications, the acne just come back the moment u get off the medication

Pros:

Cheap but that's all.

Cons:

Doesn't work.

It was really cheap $10 but it doesn't work. I was using the 2% gel for 2 months and my scne has only gotten wose. The first week it improved about 10%-20% and then after that it went back to what it used to be.

Pros:

It works for the smaller pimples, for a while you become VERY reliant on it. Its free if your'e in the UK (Good ol' NHS)

Cons:

It doesnt get rid of acne completely, the bacteria in your skin gets resistent to it eventually.

It worked for a year and at first i wasnt so dependant on it but after about a year and a half, if it ran out, within 3 dys i would have massive outbreaks so i ALWAYS had to have enough and stock up before it ran out. However the bacteria in skin are clever and adapt to it and become resistent so it doesnt work after about 2 years. It was nice at first and the dosage is not insanely high to the point where you have to base your life around it which is nice, but all good things come to an end.

Pros:

Th pros are great. The results are tremendous. I loved these tablets they worked and made me feel so much better about my skin as I am girl and love to go out and I love to wear make up but all of this isn't excessive but hey I love to look good.

Cons:

There are no real cons as such unless you forget to take your tablets or you are real stressed at that time then that is a con.

I really have no bottom line but really try this on your acne!

Pros:

I took this for a number of years when I was in middle school. It's hard to say how much it helped.

Cons:

After taking it daily for over a year, I had a terrible allergic reaction to the drug. I had acute colitis and spent 6 days in the hospital fed through an IV. As a result, I have to be very cautious about taking antibiotics even ten years later.

Of course reactions like mine are rare. However you should be very cautious about any internal medication taken over a long period of time.

Pros:

the typica solution has prevented me from getting any acne on my cheeks and chin

Cons:

my forehead and my nose are still covered in pimples

you have to give it time to work, i've only been using it for about three weeks, it takes about two months till you can really judge it, and see if it works for your skin or not.
