Pros:

No breakouts, very light and non greasy, great for day use, peels skin so my scars have been fading very gradually but noticeably over past 6 months.

Cons:

Long time to rub in completely, flaking gets a little out of control after a while, does not work when used alone, not crazy about the fragrance.

I've been using this in combination (but NOT AT THE SAME TIME AS) with Neutragena's On-the-Spot Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% (I do not use the BP as a spot treatment, but as Dan says to use it with the two zig zag lines and smear all over the face). The BP I use at night, and I use this Acne Stress Control, 3-in-1 stuff with the 2.0% Salicylic Acid in the day time. I cleanse before applying in the morning with a generic brand of Cetaphil cleanser. I then fill two fingers full with one straight line of this stuff. Sorta made up my own regimen and it seems to work. I gently rub in and then moisturize if needed. Using it in combo with the BP Works better than using this alone, or the BP alone. For flake control I gently rub off excess skin as I cleanse and use my ~6% Zia Natural Skin Care Sulphur mask when it gets out of control b/c that seems to help get a lot off and is also part of my personal regimen. I am acne free for the majority of the time until a certain time of the month arrives...

Pros:

It kind of tingles feels really nice makes your skin feel soft and smooth. Doesn't help with my acne but doesn't make it worse.

Cons:

I kind of have to hold my breath when I use it because the scent is really strong and can get up in your nose and... ugh not a nice feeling.

Good if you want a soft clean skin but not if you want to try to treat moderate to severe acne.

Pros:

Itmade my skin feel clean and soft. it had a nice fresh scent.

Cons:

It only worked the first week or so, but after that my was breaking out again.

It makes your skin feel good, but it probably only works for light acne.

Pros:

Makes your face look like you put on foundation right after you wash your face

Cons:

The "foundation-effect" wears off after only a couple of minutes and it also smells very strong. I've found that it causes giant pimple on your face, and the pimples actually get stuck in your skin. It also caused me mhiteheads all over my chin+nose!

If you have a couple of pimples, (1-5) then sure, it works. But in more severe cases, it screws up your skin. It makes your face shiny, dries out your skin, smells harsh and causes huge boil sized pimples. VERY umpleasent. I am now turning to AcneFree in hopes that it will work. If you have only a couple of pimples and decide to try this, I would reccomend the Life Brand Oil free medicated lotion from Shoppers Drugmart. It's not pricey ($5.49 in Canada)and it works AMAZING. It makes your skin feel smooth and clears up the pimples.

Pros:

Keeps skin smooth and matte without over-drying or over moisturizing, easy, inexpensive, available at most drugstores, calms down redness, works immediately and lasts all day, You can even use make-up over it

Cons:

I used a lot, and often throughout the day, so my only con is that I'm already halfway through the tube. I also don't like ACNE STRESS CONTROL in big letters, but a lot of drugstore items have tacky packaging.

I was surprised at how well this worked considering I'm not a fan of Neutrogena products in general. It's actually a good inexpensive product. I wanted something with 2% salicylic acid to exfoliate old acne and keep my pores clear, but not drying since I had already experienced some redness and peeling with benzoyl peroxide and wanted to give my skin a break from that, plus I liked that this said it worked for stress related acne and calmed down redness and would keep my skin hydrated- a hard combination to find in an acne product since they are usually drying. This actually did everything it said it would do so I was impressed enough to write this review. I've used this for 3 days and nights. I had big acne but only a few spots- in other words, not light acne because it was big cystic things that I had picked at, but not all over my face, just a few spots. I was most impressed with how this made my skin matte but not overly dry, and reduced redness and inflammation.

Pros:

By far the most effective topical treatment I have used (including benzoyl peroxide and other salicylic acid treatments). With my skin it doesn't react adversely, the bottle lasts a surprisingly long time, it has a pleasant consistency and scent.

Cons:

Perhaps it has caused a slight drying of the skin, but no other negative aspects for me.

I'll repeat: this is definitely the most effective treatment I have used over the past 7-ish years. More effective than other salicylic acid treatments. More effective than benzoyl peroxide. More effective than Proactiv. For my particular skin, this seems to work really well. I should note that I've also been making some dietary changes (I've practically eliminated direct eggs and dairy from my diet) and also been drinking about 2 liters of water a day. I think this treatment plus those changes are probably the reason my skin has improved so much, and perhaps neither would have been as effective alone. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend trying this and applying a thin coat twice a day after gentle cleansing and moisturizing. It's fairly inexpensive and the small bottle has really lasted several months.

Pros:

Does not dry out the skin surrounding blemishes, helps soothe really irritated skin, smells much better than other types of treatments.

Cons:

Needs mulitple applications daily to be most effective, leaves oily skin really shiny- especially in warmer weather.

A decent treatment, but most effective when paired with the scrub from the same line.
