Pros:

Heals acne quicker, does somewhat help fade discolorations and even out scarring

Cons:

takes a while for skin to get used to treatment. caused a lot of flaking and redness. system is tedious. still breaking out

I started using this for some acne and scars, nothing too severe, but I have very fair skin and so any marks I get stay there in the form of a nice bright red mark for long time. The biggest benefit I see from obagi(nu-derm) is that it helps your skin to turn the cells over better, so that if you do get a pimple or a discoloration pops up, it's much less likely that it will stay there for months. I've had a few bad zits since I've been on it, but the only marks that are on my face are the ones that were there before I started the treatment. Overall, I think I'm disappointed because I was told I'd get really great results and it has been less than satisfying. A form of retin-a is also included in the kit and this is supposed to help with acne, but has not really changed mine all that much. I think this system probably works great for mild hyperpigmentation or sun damage, but maybe not as much for acne. I think it probably also depends on your skin type.

Pros:

Worked great for me. I had cystic acne constantly and was also seeing the first small wrinkles under my eyes when I began using Obagi 1.5 years ago. It completely evened out my skin tone and I rarely have a breakout now. When I do, it's so minor.

Cons:

Expensive. Initially, the system only lasted around 2-2.5 mths. After the first 4 mths., I went to maintenace mode and now only have to replace product here and there. I think the retin-a lasts me about 5 months.

Well worth the money. You will use alot of product in the beginning, but you can use less after the first 20 weeks. You will peel and look bad for about 1-2 mths. at first. I only use the retin-a 3x's a week now and rarely peel. If the peeling is too bad at first, just back off on how much of it you use. But if you do that, it will take longer to see results. I just suffered through the horrible skin and now I have great skin. If I want to peel, I use it several days in a row. It is awesome for dark spots. I know about 10 women who use this as well and can tell you you will see results.

Pros:

- Works very well during your first time use.
- Clears acne
- Reduces blemishes

Cons:

- Not good for long term. Your skin colour may darken or redden if you use it for too long
- Acne may come back after stop using.
- Smell

Everyone's skin is different, but for me Obagi was great but with undesired consequences. I do know its effect inside out though. I first used it exactly two years ago. I was desperate for acne treatment because I've tried so many yet none worked. After my doctor told me for years that "it will eventually fade as I age" I guess he felt bad for me because it was worsening. So he gave me Obagi Clenziderm (Normal to Dry). My face is very oily but he said this will do for my first use since it is very strong. During the first few weeks, my skin was crazy. It was extremely red, dry, flaky, and I just wanted to stop using it. But I knew patience was required from experience. So about a month or so later, it started to work. Other people noticed before I did. They complimented my skin! It never happened since I was a kid! Luckily it was during the summer when I didn't have to study. So stress was reduced, increasing its effect. By the time summer was over (3-4 months later), my skin cleared up so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy! No breakouts, and the blemishes were fading!!! After about 8-9 months, my skin was really cleared up and I was satisfied enough to stop using it. But after I stopped, little bits of acne came back and months later, extreme hot and humid weather made my skin horrible so I used Obagi again. But when I reused it, it had little or no effect. In fact, it darkened my skin and now I'm horrified by my changed skin colour... I stopped using it about a month ago, but I started using it again because it's still the most effective for me to clear up big acnes. It's red all over again because my skin's not used to it any more. So I'm debating whether I should continue or not at the moment. My doctor prescribed me clindamycin and differin today, so maybe I'll switch over to them which I have never used yet. So just don't use it in the long term, b/c it still works!!!

Pros:

OBAGI NU DERM: made my cheeks smoother and got rid of some acne scars

Cons:

caused darkness and peeling around my lip area and chin which was not even the area where I had acne scars but NOW I do!

EXPENSIVE and not worth your money

Dont buy it! It caused me darkness in my skin and helped very little. I was better of spending my money to but make up and conceal my scars than attempring to hide it which in my case it just made it worst!

Pros:

Smooth, evened out skin, redness reduced, less breakouts

Cons:

take too long to see results!

I basically started this is july, and now it's november, and I still don't see drastic changes. I still get breakouts, and I still have some redness. However, it did reduce a lot of the redness i had, and smoothed out my face! I also get less breakouts. my face used to be bumpy, and rough, but now it's soft and smooth. I think i need to wait a little bit longer to see the realy results. But, if you have oily skin, and have scars and unevenness, this is great for you. this product is not for somone who is impatient, but patience is key to every product out there.

Pros:

It really works!!!

Cons:

It's expensive. But notice how I rated 5 on Affordability? This is because you are supposed to rate if it is worth the price. It definitely is worth the price. Because it works!

I don't work for Obagi. I don't even normally write reviews about product. But I owe it to this site to write this review and you gotta believe me on this one. Obagi works!!! I've been on it for 10 weeks. My acne cleared up and even my rolling acne scars improved. I only wished I had used this sooner. It would have saved me from a lot, a LOT of grief. For you own sake, please try it. You gotta use the whole set for it to work. I use rx Retin-A Micro 1% for the tretinoin. At least for the 1st round, you owe it to yourself to use the whole set. I started seeing a difference within 1-2 weeks. And yes, I'm one of those who have tried everything, even Accutane. I got a really got deal getting my set because a nurse sold me her free sample set. But you should expect to pay $300-$500. I still think it's worth it even if I had paid $500 for my set.

Pros:

If youre looking for a miracle, this is pretty much it. Works fast and the results last.

Cons:

It definitely takes getting used to waiting for each step before you apply the next miracle solution and its annoying at first, especially if you are sleepy!

Ive used every acne product out there for years and nothing has worked quite like this system. After 2 days my skin started clearing up and people are noticing and complimenting me all the time now. I love these products and strongly recommend it! I got mine from Eden Day Spa which is in Marin County. They do some acne laser treatment too which I love and thats really helped as well. I think the combination of treatment and these products really work well together.

Pros:

I have very oily skin and this is the first product that actually kept my skin from getting oily during the day. Cleared up my skin in 2 weeks.

Cons:

The last step can be drying but I found once your skin is clear it's best to use it as a spot treatment or don't use it everyday.

My esthetician recommended obagi for me and said it would clear up my skin in 2 weeks and she was right. I only use it once a day at night. I love the way the cleanser leaves my skin cool feeling. You can really feel the toner working deep within your pores. The biggest thing is you have to follow it exactly how it says. Once you wash your skin you have to wait for it to completely dry before you try step 2. Then the same for that, you have to wait for that to dry before step 3. They recommend waiting about 10 mins in between each. When you see the results you will see it's well worth the time. I'm very glad I paid the money to try this. It was well worth it to have clear skin and not feel so shiny and oily within 2 hours of washing my face. Every product works differently for everyone but I would definitely recommend you try this one before anything else:)
