Pros:

doesn't cause breakouts!
goes on easily

Cons:

doesn't actually moisturize
doesn't combat flaky skin in the long run

First of all, thanks to Acne.org, and the DKR for everything you have done! I love my new face. I have been using this produce (and the other Acne.Org products) for over 6 months. I am 27 years old, and follow the DKR carefully. Although this lotion feels nice going on, and doesn't cause breakouts, I found that after a while (especially in the dry winter months up here in Maine) that it didn't actually combat my flakiness due to the BP applications. I was using tons of jojoba and just basically using the moisturizer to spread the jojoba around. I work at a coffeeshop, and would feel the flakes coming back within hours. It's pretty embarrassing to serve a latte with skin peeling off of your face. I switched to Cetaphil's moisturizing lotion a few days ago, and wow, what a difference. No breakouts, but actually moisturizes. It feels thick and greasy going on, but after a few minutes your skin feels like new. I feel soft, supple, and flake-free all day. Plus, you can pick it up at the store, and you only need a few drops of jojoba with it... For those who are struggling with Dan's product and are looking for a new product to turn to, I would recommend it heartily!

Pros:

Positive that this does not cause breakouts, reduces redness from BP or AHA application

Cons:

Does not moisturize or take care of flakes

I've used the new moisturizer for about 9 months. The one good thing about it is that you can be sure that this product will not cause your skin to break out. It is a very mild formula that also helps to reduce redness caused from application of BP or AHA. However, it hardly functions as a moisturizer and does not take care of flakes. I view this product as more of an inert base with which to mix jojoba oil with. I have to add a lot of jojoba oil to the product to hydrate my skin and I feel that the oil does the moisturizing while the lotion gives me a medium with which to spread it around my face. The lotion is quite runny and takes a long time to absorb. Even with the added jojoba oil I still end up getting flakes within a couple of hours and my face feels dry and tight. Bottom line: safe to use but not a very effective moisturizer.

Pros:

- Doesn't make me break out

Cons:

- Liquid-like consistency
- Takes forever to dry
- Still have flakes
- Makes skin look greasy
- Burns/stings and causes redness

I really want to like this moisturizer, but I just can't. I've been using this moisturizer, along with the cleanser and BP for about 3 weeks now and I just don't feel like it's that great. I have oily, acne prone skin and while this doesn't seem to make me break out... it's not doing anything else. Once applied it sits on my skin forever. When it finally absorbs it looks really greasy. Throughout the day my skin will noticeably flake. I don't feel like it moisturizes as well as it should. Maybe I'd prefer a thicker cream, but I'll take a thicker cream making me look oily if it acutally works. Also, the lotion causes me more irritation than the BP! Once the BP dries, my skin feels fine (if anything it's tight), but once I apply the lotion... red/burning/stinging sensation. Has to be the moisturizer. I know I should probably give it a little more time, but the tomato redness and burning it causes around my mouth isn't worth it. I'll take the flakes. On a mission to find someting more agreeable for me.

Pros:

goes on easily, moisturizes very well, no scent, does not cause breakouts

Cons:

does not fully absorb, leaves face looking shiny and greasy, yellow stains on white clothes

Although I am pleased that this product moisturizes well and does not cause breakouts for me, ultimately I am disappointed with it due to the fact that I cannot wear it during the day. It never fully absorbs and leaves my face looking very greasy. It's great for overnight use (especially if my skin is feeling extra parched), but overall this is not enough for me to continue purchasing it.

Pros:

super easy to spread, non-sticky, not heavy , very moisturizing

Cons:

No spf

I love this new formula! Don't ever change it back to the old formula. I hated the old one because it is very heavy feeling and sticky.

Pros:

Light
moisturizing

Cons:

Not light enough
smells bad
leaves my skin feeling gross, like a residue.
Drys up and clogs the end of the pump

I really liked the old stuff. I don't like how it leaves a gross feeling residue on my skin. I also use this to moisturize the skin under my short beard. The old stuff was a lot thinner and massaged in very nicely. This does not! I leaves an even worse sticky feeling on my beard. I really want to have the option to buy the old moisturizer or the new one. Don't just take the old one away all together! I honestly have no idea what i will buy once this is used up. It was nice to have found what i liked only to have it taken away! bring back the old one!

Pros:

matte finish- IF that's what you're looking for

Cons:

-doesnt moisturize well at all
-left a filmy feeling on my face
-takes longer to absorb
-my skin actually felt drier & tight after application
-adding jojoba oil doesnt seem to boost the moisturizing quality at all
-expensive for a product that doesnt do its job

Please bring back the old formula! This was a total waste of money for me. Of all the products i bought in my last recent order, the moisturizer was the one that i desperately needed more of. Just when i thought i had found the best facial moisturizer out there for me, the formulation gets changed and now i am on to another endless search for another brand.

Pros:

+ Leaves no nasty residue or shine
+ Nice consistency
+ If you use 2-3 pumps, gets rid of flakes & dryness
+ No redness/sting

Cons:

- You need to use 2-3 pumps to get benefit
- Takes 5-10 minutes to absorb

I absolutely HATED the old DK moisturizer. It was tacky and nasty and never fully absorbed, leaving a gross shine on my face all day. However, Dan's new moisturizer is AWESOME! The formula is smooth and comfortable to apply and it absorbs fully, leaving no nasty residue or shine. As long as you use a good 2-3 pumps it beats the flakes and dryness. I don't even need to use jojoba with it. Love the new moisturizer, thanks Dan!
