Pros:

glowing, perfect skin!
even on dark, indian skin!

Cons:

dry skin for 2-3 days after treatment
also, the process is not a luxury facial...it hurts! but worth it.

hi everyone. I had severe acne and went on accutane ( roaccuane) which worked wondersfor my acne, but my scars remained. I tried gentler things for a yr, then 2 mths ago started having 2 wkly microdermabrasion ( CACI Chromaclear which combines it with light therapy). After the first session, i was so disappointed--my face was red, sore and very dry. I almost cancelled my second appointment---but im so glad i didn't because from the second one onward (have now had 4) my face is so fresh and smooth, the dark pigmentation from the scars and some of the pitting even is much, much less! mY face recovered quicker with each successive treatment and my face is so much better -i no longer wear make up.

Pros:

This product is great it helped get rid of scars and clean out the pores. My skin was super soft afterwards.

Cons:

If your insurance doesn't cover it it is very expensive. leaves your skin red afterwards(only for about 2 hours). You have to take between 6-18 sesions depending on your skin condition.

I would definately recomend this because it helps your skin ALOT! My insurance covers the cost so it is very cheap for me. Due to my skin condition i only need to take 8 sessions to get the desired out come.

Pros:

I have adult acne of every category(i.e. whiteheads, blackhead, papules)However, the first session I saw no improvement, but in the second session I saw massive improvement, BUT the clear skin only lasted for a two weeks.

Cons:

The skin becomes dependent on microdermabrasion, therefore, consistent treatment is required to see positive results.

Not worth the hype. There are various kinds of microdermabrasion. research before you head to the nearest salon and dermatologist. Remember: they are business men and women therefore they will give proper medical information, with results may vary per person.

Cons:

save your money, and be careful who you go to. plz see a dermatologist before you do anything to your face.

Pros:

um, none

Cons:

do NOT get professional microderms. They are incredibly overpriced and truly do not do anything you can't do yourself. I wasted $600 and I seriously regret it. I saw NOOOO results.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. get an at home kit if you want to try it.

Pros:

I started with the neutrogena 8 hour active products the exfoliater and those great pads. then moved on to their mushroom extract dermabrasion.

Cons:

i went through a period of extra sensitive skin peeling, and accidental scarring from overuse.

After one month, my brown scars have faded almost disappearing. My acne has almost stopped completely, nothing to squeeze, nothing to cover up with make-up. When I do get a pimple it is gone within a few days. It used to flair up and spread then leave a scar. To me, it is those pads. they make the biggest difference. Also, the lotion is soooo important.

Pros:

Affordable at home kit, quick, easy, simple, great results

Cons:

Increased skin sensitivity

I have had acne for years. I've been waiting two months to start my Accutane and I'm supposed to be starting in the next couple of weeks. I've always been told that I should try to avoid deep or harsh exfoliation as it could cause bacteria to spread and scarring. I grew a little impatient while waiting for my accutane, I decided to go ahead a try Microdermabrasion. I've been using the Neutrogena kit morning AND night -daily!! My skin is smoother and the scars are fading. I've been doing this for one week and have not had but TWO pimples all week. Note that I'm getting ready to start accutane which means I've had serious acne problems that have failed to respond to other treatments. I do not remember one day where I have not had a pimple and definitely not a full week of practically clear skin. Bottom line!!! It's working for me. I'm wondering if I will even need accutane. I'm so physced. I wish I had tried this sooner. I feel so beautiful! TRY IT!

Pros:

fresher skin, improves overall complexion

Cons:

not suitable with skin having active acne

your acne needs to be stopped before you can try out this treatment. Remember this is for acne scars not acne itself.I had to wait for years to try this one out and I have to admit..it did improve my scarring...by reducing the depth of the scars. However, regular care is neccessary. There is no quick fix. Microderm along with regular skin care routin and healthy diet habbits goes a long way...I paid 275 pounds for a course of six

Pros:

works well with ice pick scars (gradual process) helps rebuild skin

Cons:

takes time i cant say costly as ive done it myslef and persoanlly i think its cheap

what is confusing is that people are still using this WITH acne . of course its gonna flare up your skin you will break the very sensitive skin barrier and make it worse. it would be like doing it to cut. ive done 4 treaments roulghy every 2 weeks it has worked its not a miracle though. its left my skin on my neck red for 3 days now (this is noraml right) when i do a treament the flowing morning i wake with very flat skin but its slightly rough im assuimng this dead skin that i need to take off right or will the skin heal im not sure
