Pros:

Helps a bit

Cons:

Doesent work well for people with Sensitive Skin (like me)

I have to tell you this. OMG The other day I was at Wal-Mart and this Equate Stuff was there "Oil~Free Dual Action Moistuizer Sensitive Skin Medicated to Help treat and prevent pimples", so I had to buy. I tryed it and when I put it on my face like 10-15 min later my face was soooooo clear. Can't believe it. I cant live without it. But I recomend this to people who have Sensitive Skin and its only $3.49 or something. This is AMAZING! P.S the other Info about at the bottom is St. Ives. Please try this Equate Stuff.... Cause it really works.

Pros:

Leaves skin really smooth and clean

Cons:

Does not really help with acne

A scrub basically removes the outer later of dirt, dead skin and all that gunk trapped in your face. What is revealed is clear skin, regulated oil secretion and smoother face. And in turn, acne will be less prone to pop out. It does that for me, so i'm fine with it. I tried some more expensive brands, but nothing gives me more satisfaction than St Ives!

Pros:

It works for awhile and it smells nice.

Cons:

Once your face gets used to slathering the scrub on, it tends not to work as well. It is a little harsh but my skin is not sensitive so mine was fine. However, it is a APRICOT scrub. Some of the residue was left in the sink and a cockroach was found- eating the residue!!!! Make sure you scrub the sink after wards.

Try it out. It's pretty good.

Pros:

Clears up skin
Smooths out dead skin leaving new, soft skin

Cons:

None

It will irritate your skin if you use it ever day, i asked a professional at a spa and she told me not to use a scrub every day, only three times a week should do it.

Pros:

This exfoliator has many more beads in it than regular exfoliators. It leaves your skin feeling VERY smooth and nice. I used this product NIGHTLY for a few weeks in conjunction with some light lotion and my skin cleared up dramatically, acne free.

Cons:

My dermotologist brought it to my attention that this is VERY DAMAGING to your skin. The apricot beads are too harsh and give your skin tiny microcuts, and if you scrub you can even burst blood vessels. My derm said to not use it anymore.

Bottom line is this is probably a bad idea. In the long run, you may cause more damage to your skin. I actually love this, but I am trying to find a safer alternative. My derm. did point out some burst blood vessels and I am worried this may have caused it, because I used to scrub the heck out of my face with it.

Pros:

-very inexpensive (CVS, Target, or other generic brands--so long as they have salicylic acid--work very well, too)
-easy to use
-mostly natural

Cons:

-a few years ago St. Ives changed the formula, making the scrub less...scrubby...however, they have changed back and the scrub is like it used to be. I guess if they changed it again i wouldn't buy it.

I have been using this scrub twice a day for 10 years...wow...I am old! I think there was a time i tried to use something like Biore or 'higher end'...that didn't last long! St. Ives' medicated apricot scrub and store-brand analogs are inexpensive quality products. If I skip a day or two of this scrubbing my face does not like it! This scrub is also easy to use on body acne as well. I think if you have acne worse than "light" acne you probably should use this scrub in conjunction with another topical treatment.

Pros:

nice texture, nice smell

Cons:

can over dry and a good moisturiser is required even on my very oily skin

since having clearer skin due to use of roaccutane, i have used this product i feel it has over irritated my skin and caused the breakouts on my chin, it leaves an excellent clean feeling but that is not worth the acne.

Pros:

face is soft, acne cleared, no whiteheads

Cons:

can be drying if used w/ other acne creams, the grains get in eyes easily!

I've used this for about 10 years and it's never failed me. I've tried other washes but keep coming back to this one. Makes your skin real soft, and removes all the flakey skin left over from acne creams. If you use other acne treatments like astringent or spot treatments, stop using them with this wash (it can be overdrying). I find that I don't even need other spot treatments when I use St. Ives scrub, because it works so well alone. Just be sure to get the Medicated bottle, the regular formula doesn't clear acne. And close your eyes real tight when you rinse, when the grains get in your eyes they freakin' hurt! I just pair this with birth control pills (Ortho-Novum or Modicon work the best), and occasionally Retin-A gel .25%
