Pros:

Inexpensive; works great; makes your skin glow; helps scars fade; make my skin color appear more olive and even toned!

Cons:

None, really. It's natural and more effective than any other product I've used. May dry out your skin a bit. I put honey on afterwords. My regimin in the morning is using a natural based cleanser followed by natural based moisturizers with SPF...

My regimin in the morning is using a natural based cleanser followed by natural based moisturizers with SPF...At night, I apply lemon for 15 minutes, followed by honey mask. Honey helps me retain moisture, as my skin does dry a bit. I break out moderately, more so during my period. Lemon helps any existing acne dry out quicker.

Pros:

Inexpensive, natural

Cons:

protect your eyebrows

I have been using lemon since cosmetology school. We learned about facials and acids and I thought why not use lemon. I cleanse with a mild cleanser. Use Ponds dy skin cream and use the manipulations I learned in school to work out dirt and oil I leave moisturizer on, then I steam with a very warm wet towel Then I take a small piece of lemon and rub on my skin let sit till the burn stops about 10 minutes rinse with cool water reapply moisurizer with SPF by patting or pressing into skin. People are always telling me how good my skin looks.

I suffer with adult acne.I have gone to the dermetologist, tried different products from the store, but truthfully nothing has worked for me like the juice of a lemon DILUTED with fresh water.I makes my skin glow and gives it a youthful apperance.I love when I gather with my friends and they say to me,"your skin looks good".But I must say,it does take consistency and if you stop the usage your marks may reappear...I have experienced this also.

Pros:

Inexpensive, reduces scars, makes my face glow

Cons:

A little drying for normal skin, but it would probably be great for oily skin

I haven't had severe acne since my teenage years, with the exception of a bad outbreak a few months ago on account of new detergent (damn you, Tide!). This left me with a face full of scars that I was trying to find a natural way to get rid of. I started using lemon juice in the morning and aloe vera juice applied topically at night, and I'm experiencing wonderful results. My skin is glowing and the scars are fading. However, it did take a few weeks before I started to see any fading at all. Be patient and persistent, and you should see results.

Pros:

Lemon! Apple cider Vinegar! And egg white! Absolutely, absolutely fantastic combination

Cons:

need to use it every day as a rule....and it wasn't quick results for me....took a month...

But *so* worth the wait! Someone else on this site mentioned this combo of egg, vinegar and lemon and I agree. I'm in a happy stage of having little/no active acne but loads of dark red/brown scars. Because I still use differin at night, I use this mask in the morning,of 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 1/4 squeezed small lemon and one egg white from a small egg, soaked into a clean muslin cloth. My skin feels a little sensitive after, so I soothe it with a one minute mask of mannuka honey. My scars? After one month...I have for the first time in my life, gone out without makeup!

This is interesting. My book on Chinese healing from foods actually recommends lemon or lime juice as a cleanser for acne. Lemons are not abundant in China, so other ingredients are used: Mix equal parts of celery and apple juice - apply to face morning and evening. Cut a water chestnut in half, rub the inside cross-section over your face 2 - 3 times a day. Also, eat plenty of raw cucumber, which has a cooling effect on the stomach and lungs, and drink large quantities of hot green tea. Just thought I would share what I read, as it follows exactly what you are all saying, and the Chinese have beautiful skin!
