Pros:

It does lighten your skin, clears dark spots. Makes acne go away after enough use. (You need to be persistent in order for things to work out correctly.)

Cons:

It may or may not prevent newer breakouts based upon certain times/conditions. At first, it stings like hell, but eventually you do get used to it.

They are cheap (I can't seem to smell them though) and convenient. After trying other different medications, creams and other topical applications, lemons have worked the best for me. Although the results took a bit for me, it all works out in the end because my face looks much, much better than it did previously awhile ago. My face is much clearer now than it was before. I've applied it every night after taking a shower, using fresh lemons, squeezing the juices into a small cup, and taking a cotton ball to apply the lemon juice to the general areas. And I'm still applying it every night. Works well!

Pros:

quick results, within a week or so...can see improvement in 2 days maybe less!depending on the person..fades acne scars and marks(potential scars or recently popped pimples)

Cons:

burns a little...none really, hasnt really had too much effect on my acne

I noticed that my bumps werent really the problem..a few bumps dont really bother me but all of the marks they leave behind that make it look like you have more acne than you actually do were starting to get a little depressing! :( So I've been drinking lots of water, taking a multivitamin...using vitamin e as a moisturizer and using LEMONS! as a spot treatment at night. Just cut a small slice, squeeze the juice apply with qtip to pimples and marks(discoloration) scars etc. I also tried a honey mask but that was only once.. My acne marks are actually fading very quickly!! I recommend that anyone who has more scars than bumps give this a try. My scars almost match the color of my skin its great! I've still got a little ways to go but its only been 3 days. i think its a lifestyle change if u want to get rid of acne...but not a huge change its the little things that count..water, vitamins etc. ..if youve been using lots of chemical this may be a good alternative...GOOD LUCK EVERYON

Pros:

works

Cons:

burns and lightens skin

be very careful with this. It works, but it will lighten whatever skin it is applied to, and if you are dark skinned the light spot will be very visible..

Pros:

Cheap, fades scars, pores are smaller.

Cons:

Itches and burns for a few minutes. Also not sure if it helped with the active acne, but scars seem a bit lighter.

It seems to be lighting up my scars. I had a few breakouts while using it but nothing like the cystic ones I used to have. Would happily take the small breakouts over those painful, huge scar leaving cystic ones.

Pros:

- works!!!
- inexpensive

Cons:

- can sting a little
- gets a bit sticky after a while

I'm really impressed with the results I've gotten from lemon juice. It's cleared my skin right up after years of only half-success with other methods. It took about 2 weeks of consistent use before I really saw amazing results, so stick with it!! Bottled juice works, though a slice from a fresh lemon is much more powerful - slice off a piece every evening, pierce it a few times to make it easier for the juice to come out, and rub it across your face. I only use it in the evening - I wash my face then apply lemon juice before bed, and wash it off in the morning in the shower. I notice at night that it can become a bit sticky, which is why I don't use it during the day. I only got minimal stinging, after using it for a few days in places on my face where the skin is the most sensitive; but it fades after a few minutes. Obviously not every remedy works for everyone, but this has definitely worked for me, so I recommend trying it!

Pros:

The current pimples decrease in redness and size. The best thing is no new pimples!

I wash my face with some salicylic acid, cut off a slice of lemon and wipe my face and leave for 15 min. It's easier than squeezing juice and it works better!

Cons:

The stinging the very first time you use it, especially if you pick at your pimples (like me) and the skin is open, but it goes away after a few minutes.

No need to leave it on overnight; it's probably a case of diminishing returns. Leaving it on your face for 15-20 minutes is best for me. It doesn't seem to be the case where it gets worse before it gets better. My skin feels softer and it definitely looks better, aside from the decrease in acne. 1) Wash with a gentle cleanser (glycolic acid, salicylic acid) and warm water 2) Cut off a slice of lemon and wipe it on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes 3) Wash it off and apply a non-oily facial lotion 4) Do this before going to bed and after waking up You get more out of using the slice than squeezing the lemon, and it's much less work! Using the actual skin of the lemon must also help too rather than using just the juice. I will see how this turns out after a month of consistent usage.
