Simple to use and it works for me!
I only recently started hearing about lemon juice being used topically, and I decided to try it out for myself when I began seeing no hope in clearing up the dark marks and acne scars left behind by my previous breakouts. I bought a lemon at the local grocer (really, it's just that easy!) and began applying it by q-tip right after my morning wash (before toning and applying spot treatment) and right before bed. Within 3 or 4 days I had already began seeing the big red splotches fade away (not dramatically, but they definitely went from dark brown and bright red to maybe two or three shades lighter), and within a week they were reduced to almost half of their original size. Now, to be fair, I still have slight scarring and marks but they are WAY lighter and smaller than before I began using lemon juice. I also tried using the lemon to cure a large cystic pimple that appeared while testing this method, and while it didn't really clear up the spot, it did make it less noticeable and red. I, for sure, would recommend at least trying this method if you want to rid yourself of acne scars or dark marks. PROS: - It reduced the redness of ongoing acne and acne scarring / dark marks - It smells good! - It seems to dry out skin (if using more than just a dab on a q-tip or cotton ball) which can be good for beginning to clear up acne CONS: - It's drying if used in excess - It makes your skin *extremely* sensitive to sunlight, avoid going in direct sun if you have lemon juice on your face! It can actually increase skin problems if you do (such as freckles and more dark marks / acne).

Great discovery
It makes my skin itchy for a little while after but definitely worth it. Scars look redder after applied but that is only until you wash the lemon juiced off. Can see results a few days later!!

Pros:

gets rid of acne scars
makes skin soft

Cons:

kind of burns/itches if you don't have a fan in your face

I use epsom salt to help actual acne, and lemon juice for scars. It really makes a difference with scars. My scars drastically improved within a week, it was crazy.

Pros:

Does the job and is the only thing that really prevents oil and scaring the natural way

Cons:

Non

Lemon juice is amazing. I love the taste of lemons and heard it lightens skin but never needed it for that purpose. I have mild scarring and have brown skin so my scars are more prominent I would think. I read that lemons were good for fading scares and killing bacteria in your pores which are the cause of acne. So I tried it just mix a teaspoon of honey in half a bowl of natural lemon juice not the store bought staff. The acidity burns at first but you have to endure it because it works like magic and still doesn't damage your skin. My face looks and feels to good to be true I have barely any oiliness and my scares are fading after just 3 uses they are almost completely gone. It annoys me that I never thought to try other skin care methods because I could of had a flawless complexion if I learnt the wonders of a 30 minute daily lemon mask ages ago. PLEASE TRY IT THIS A SECRET EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW. Oh and remember to apply it daily with a cotton ball not your finger which can counteract the effect ;)

Pros:

Within a week, i can notice that it dried out existing acnes, post-acne marks slowly fading (not completely but i can see the difference after using it), and makes my skin smooth.

Cons:

Stinging sensation is to be expected; I think different ppl have different tolerance towards the stinging or "burn". Ive practically used everything there is in attempts to treat acne before, so putting 100% lemon juice (undiluted) didn't burn my face. Just to be safe, slowly start with diluted lemon juice for your first trial.

Tried this for about a week and i can say that i have a good feeling about this. I'm not expecting my face to be completely acne-free and scar-free, but one week trial with lemon has given me hope. I'm gonna keep doing this and hope it will be the cure that i've been waiting for! All the best to everyone!

Pros:

seems to help fade hyperpigmentation
may help with atrophy following cortisone injections

Cons:

having to squeeze fresh juice?

I started applying freshly squeezed lemon juice with a cotton ball to my reddish acne marks about a month ago and they seem to be fading more quickly than before I began the treatment. Also, I have noticed that since using the lemon juice treatment, the atrophy or pitting of an area of my skin where I had cortisone injected into a cystic pimple seems to be improving rather well. This indentation was much more noticeable shortly after the injection (about three weeks ago) than it is now, as was its corresponding dark spot/hyperpigmentation. I believe it is the lemon juice that has helped heal this imperfection, which is about 60-70% better at this point, however it may also be that I have been using a baking soda mask at night. (BTW, the baking soda mask seems to be helping me stay completely clear). The way I apply lemon juice is I juice half a lemon into a bowl and use 1-2 cotton balls to apply it wherever I'm prone to getting acne. I leave it on as long as possible while at home and rinse it off before applying acne medication and moisturizer. I do this once a day. The baking soda mask I use is very simple: mix regular baking soda with water until you get a paste and apply to your acne-prone areas; wait at least 5-10 mins (or longer if possible) and rinse before applying acne medication and moisturizer, if applicable.

Pros:

+If you have a lemon tree (like I do) ITS FREE! If you go to the store, ITS CHEAP!
+Slight glow (not too dramatic)
+Kicks pimple's ass
+Gradually reduces blackheads
+Slight reduction of redness
+Slight reduction of pores

Cons:

-Stings like a mother...especially after you shave :/

I have been insecure about my skin since high school. Some people are blessed when puberty hits them. But in some cases, like mine, I was SOL. My skin was HORRID! I would wear a black hoody and then I would try to cover my chin area with it in class (my chin was very severe). It has reduced as time went on, but recently I did a search out for the PERFECT SKIN. Lemon juice is on my face constantly. I love what it does to my skin. I feel my skin detoxifying before my eyes. Plus, I take cayenne pepper topically to help with my skin (Cayenne Pepper: 99 cents store, Empty Capsules: Vitamin Shopp or local pharmacy, dirt cheap) these two are opposites that attract. Look it up and give it a shot ;)

Pros:

Lightens Acne Scars
Prevents Future Breakouts

Cons:

Stings

Who wouldve thought! I tried everything to get rid of my acne scars including mederma, but that make be break out. Now, lemons don't completely remove the scar, but it deff lightens it! It didnt help get rid of any active pimples but i noticed it helped prevent (a little) I wouldn't consider it an acne treatment though, it just helps get rid of acne scars, or any scars for that matter! :) definitely worth a shot!
