Pros:

- Removes pimples pretty fast
- Tightens pores
- Fade scares

Cons:

- Burns and itches quite abit when you apply it
- It will leave burns if your skin hits direct sunlight

I've always had problems with acne. And today I had this huge pimple on my nose and my mate's sixteenth birthday bash was next week! Normally with these giant zits, it'd take me one - two weeks to properly get it off, but I applied lemon juice on a whim and I woke up this morning and the pimple has already dried out! It's also a LOT smaller and a LOT redder so I can cover it up with concealer without it looking like some skin-colored bump on my face. What I do is take one lemon and squeeze out all of it's juices. Then I take a teapsoon of it and apply it cotton. I dilute it a little bit before putting in on my face and then I mix the rest of the lemon juice with water and drink it. Drinking lemon juice also helps give you that dewy complexion and helps lessens the break outs!

Pros:

MAYBE helps fade acne scars...

Cons:

None really...might irritate skin and further redness

Well I hate to be a downer, but I recently gave lemon juice a try after many things (BP, salicylic acid, clindamycin, etc), and I can't say it has worked all that great for me...ESPECIALLY as some have claimed for it being an "overnight" and "miracle" cure. The only thing that has ever worked in such a way was Accutane which I took in high school. I'm not saying lemon juice doesn't work, in fact I'm sure it probably does for a lot of people. But it certainly didn't make my pimples go away. The only thing it somewhat seemed to fade was older acne scars (which is actually pretty awesome). It didn't make things worse that I could really tell, so I say give it a try. Why not, really. I think the best thing for me at this point in my life is just drinking tons of water, not sweating, and destressing.

Pros:

Refreshing
Smells good
Fades scars
Doesn't dry out skin

Cons:

So far none...

For the last year I have been battling with moderate to severe acne. It honestly got to the point to where I was not wanting to leave the house. What 24 year old wants to go out with pimples and disgusting scars on your face? I tried lots of things over the counter: Bio-Oil Vitamin E Almond Oil and various face washes About 3 months ago I finally got the breakouts under control! I still have a few breakouts each month but its a lot better than having a face full. I started using lemon juice about a week ago. I read about it many times but I was afraid to use it because I tend to itch when I eat fruit so I was afraid it would irritate my skin. Luckily, it has worked wonders so far and I am loving the way my skin feels! So I thought I would share my regimen with you! I do this twice a day. I was my face, I have been using just a simple face wash by Garnier After I rinse my face I place a warm wash cloth on my face to open my pores a bit. While my face is air drying I grab the lemons that i have pre-sliced in the fridge. (You don't have to do this but it speeds up the process and I love the coolness on my skin) I then take the lemon slices and rub it directly on my skin, I prefer going in a circular motion. I leave it on for about 15 minutes I then rinse it off- I prefer using cold water to do this close my pores and seal in the goodies! While my skin is still a little damp I dab on a bit of almond oil. I just love how it makes my skin feel! That's all there is to it, so far I have seen the scars lighten a bit. I've had some of the scars for a while so am not rushing the fading process! I also drink only water and I even add lemon to that! Plus I take vitamins everyday that help with my skin. However, I am a lot more confident and I barely wear make up now.

Pros:

Works great on "deep" blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads, and scars

Cons:

Stinging/itching for about 5 minutes after applying topically, but very much worth it.

I have tried EVERY treatment I could think of (ProActive, facials, OTC washes, etc etc) and nothing has worked like lemon juice. My Routine: 1. Wash face morning and night with a mild cleanser (I use Dr. Bronner's) 2. Squeeze a wedge of lemon into a small container; dip cotton ball into fresh juice and apply all over face. (Morning and night) 3. Wait 10-15 minutes and rinse. 4. I apply jojoba oil at night, but my skin is VERY oily and it is a bit much for daytime I have been doing this for about a week with AMAZING results. I had hard knots under my skin that I had been trying to get rid of for WEEKS and after one lemon juice treatment, most of them had risen to the surface! Most even popped on their own, and others only needed a gentle squeeze to make their way out. This has helped the overall tone of my skin as well as my daytime oiliness. Lemon does sting more on active blemishes. To me, the sting is well worth the results. After the first few treatments I noticed more bumps on my face, but I kept at it and they were to the surface and easily extracted within a few days. I feel like the lemon juice was drawing out zits I didn't even know I had below the surface. If you can tough out the sting, this is soooo worth it! P.S. The boyfriend had a huge cystic zit by his lip. He dabbed a little lemon juice only on the affected area and that sucker started draining on its own after 2 treatments! After a gentle squeeze, everything was out and the zit was completely deflated.

Pros:

Clears acne and reduces redness ALMOST overnight
Not drying
Cheap & Effective

Cons:

Stings

I've tried creams and home remedies and antibiotics and cleansers of all kinds. One day years ago I was walking in the mall and woman came up to me and said "lemon juice." I said "huh"? and she said "for your face..lemon juice." I never tried it..not for years. Then one day I figured I'd give it a shot. It works nearly overnight. The redness and inflammation is noticeably reduced. It's great. It does sting a tad for less than a minute after application, but totally worth it in my book. It also didn't dry out my skin which was another plus. :)

Pros:

Cheap, lightened scars, full-of-hope

Cons:

Burns (obviously), caused some serious breakouts

So, I was completely hopeful when trying this highly rated "product." I used it for a little over a month. After reading many of the reviews, I expected it to sting, so when it did just that, I wasn't surprised. It stung all over, but especially along my jawline (I had never broken out there before). There are some definite pros to using lemon juice, however I was still breaking out, in fact, I was breaking out like crazy along my jawline. I have since stopped using lemon juice and have switched to Dan's products. My face is pretty clear, but the jawline aftereffects are still there (they are weird ones too... they line up and form patterns, basically little jerks). My best guess is that my jawline breakout is due to the lemon juice... too strong of a product for such a sensitive area. Who knows though.

Pros:

An amazing acne cleanser. It also reduces and lightens acne scars, severe or not. Works very fast.

Cons:

It itches and stings for about a minute or two. But totally worth it.

I recommend lemons for any women or men out there who are suffering from acne/pimples/zits or acne scars. This stuff is a miracle and does wonders for your face. I started having acne in the beginning of my freshman year. It was one of my biggest insecurities. I always let people keep their distance from me and never let people stare at my face. It was just too humiliating. I didn't date or have any relationships because of this and it just irritates me to have bumps and holes all over your face. Whenever a guy asks me out I would reject him right away and I would always feel bad about it since they look so sad. I looked up online for any treatments or products and I have tried EVERYTHING. None seems to work or just makes my face break out even more. I'm a senior this year and my beloved grandparents came to visit for my graduation next summer. My grandma was asking me if I had a boyfriend or if I was planning to get married and I told her I've never had a relationship in high school. She was really surprised and I told her about my acne problem. Since she was wise and had beautiful skin she told me the secret about lemons. I started right away and I was so amazed at the results. In three days half of my acne and scars have either reduced or vanished. I was so thankful to my grandma. It was one of the most happiest moments of my life and I never knew I would come to love my skin. And they costs from $0.75 - 3.00. Very cheap. Before you start, wash your face with cleanser first. Cut apart a lemon and squeeze the juice out and into a small container. Dip a cotton in the juice (and put a little water in to dilute the lemon juice if you have sensitive skin) and dab it onto your face on the area that have acne and scars. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with luke warm water. Do this two times a day and you'll see the results. Love it.
