Breaks me out.. Bummer.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Clogs pores
Greasy

I got a bunch of ultra-clogged pores from this "non-comedogenic" oil. Grape seed oil is a much better alternative. I tried jojoba oil for cleaning my makeup off BEFORE a cleanser, and you would think that it wouldn't clog as many pores as it did but MAN was it terrible!!

Pros:

natural

Cons:

clogs pores/enlarge pores
blemishes/cysts
major breakout

I bought and used this religiously everyday at night. I had 'alright' skin. few breakout here and there, but i heard this thing can make your face GLOW. I used only 1 drop because my face is oily already and for a while it was alright. then i started noticing i was breaking out. I thought maybe it will get better and continued to use it. BIG MISTAKE. My face is a WRECK. I heard so much good reviews on this and thought this would work. I don't know how my face can go back to what it was before. Natural or not, if you have oily and sensitive skin, do not, DO NOT, use oil (any kind) on your face. My face feels like cement now-all bumpy... I want to cry.

Pros:

My cheeks seem a little softer.

Cons:

Gave me the worst break out of my life. It wasn't just a purging phase, I used it for over two months and it got worse and worse. Expensive too.

I'd read about the 'miracle' that is jojoba oil and the oil cleansing method all over the internet. Most people seemed to sing its praises so I thought I'd give it a go. After a couple of weeks of cleansing with Jojoba and Castor oil at night my skin gradually got worse, I thought it was purging so continued to use it. Over 7 weeks have passed and my skin is worse than it has ever been, pimples all over my face in places I have never had them before. I've finally realised that it is not working for me, I just wish I'd stopped sooner as I now have a much bigger mess to deal with! This method works for many, but not for everyone.

Pros:

Cons:

Result: 2 large cysts, one smaller cyst

I have been on Retin-A for a couple of years, and I decided about 4 months ago that I no longer wanted to rely on prescription medication for my acne. I began using essential oils and everything has been going well. I have since been using diluted tea tree oil each night all over my face, and I take a multi-vitamin, and a b-complex that has 20 mg of zinc. Then, three days ago, I tried jojoba oil, but just on my chin to test the results. I used it for three days, and then 3 cysts formed (I haven't had a cyst in quite a while). Since, it is the only change in my regimen, it has to be the culprit. Jojoba oil seemed to clog my pores.

Pros:

It can be very moisturizing when added to moisturizer

Cons:

Broke me out. It was always being suspected.. so I tried many times over and over, and it never fails to break me out.

Might break you out too. Use with caution.

HORRIBLE for oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin!
I bought the Desert Essence 100% pure Jojoba oil. As soon as I used it, it broke me out everywhere. Huge red pimples and SO MANY white heads. I stopped using it for a while just to find out what broke me out, as I hear everyone raving about it. I used it again a few weeks later and it did the same thing. So I stopped using it completely. I started using a lip balm recently from seba med, and as soon as I used it, it broke me out all around my mouth, chin and cheeks because the lip balm contains Jojoba oil. Would NEVER recommend it!!

That's because that's a cheep one. It's known for breaking people out. You have to get a good quality one or else yes it will break you out.

Everyone reacts uniquely to jojoba oil just as they do to any product for skin. If its 100% pure jojoba oil then I doubt you brokeout because of the brand lol. Try using hemp or argan oil before giving up on oils in general. Jojoba oil is usually great for multiple purposes but some folks simply don't tolorate it well. Good luck Dee6754!

Pros:

Can't really think of any.

Cons:

Made my face red
Small bumps
Over-hyped and expensive

I think there is way too much hype over Jojoba oil right now. I've consistently used it for several weeks hoping that it will do the wonders as other reviewers have claimed. The only thing it did was making my face red with small bumps all over the place. I'm sure it's safe to use on your face but I personally haven't reaped any benefits that I would not have from your average moisturizer. I don't see any reason to add this anyone's regimen. Just use a gentle cleanser, plenty of Dan's BP and a moisturizer of your choice. Do not waste your money. Just another over-hyped product on the shelf to ask for the consumers' monies. Thumbs up if you found this review helpful!

Pros:

its ok to use on your body.

Cons:

clogged my pores (NO i didnt use too much, 2-3 drops after cleansing my face) and didnt help with redness at all

wow with how many people had success, I thought it'd help fade red marks from accutane.. I was damn wrong. Not only did it seem to clog my pores, but it DIDNT even help with red marks. Aveeno ultra calming moisturizer did a waaaay better job with redness.

Pros:

very light weight moisturizing oil

Cons:

causes big, painful infected acne

I needed a product to deep cleanse my pores yet without over drying and harsh like most acne products. After reading about jojoba oil and all it's rave reviews that it deep cleanses and clear out all the junk inside pores, I went to WholeFoods and bought a bottle of Dessert Essence Jojoba Oil. At first I was reluctant to use it directly on my skin, therefore I mix 3 drops with Cetaphil and cleanse my face with it at nice, rinse clean with warm water. After the first night and the following morning, I feel my skin is very soft and much less dry. SO, I decided to stick to this new regime to see if it will further improve my skin. Over the course of 1 week, i started to get infected pimples (which I didnt have before, I only suffered from very clogged pores) I started to get more and more infected painful pimples as the week progresses adding Jojoba oil to my cleansing regime. I found that very odd so I decided to throw the bottle away and stop using it. Now that I've stopped, I no longer get big painful infected pimples. Jojoba oil may or may not work and it absolutely did not work for the better for me. I really advice people with acne go see a dermatologist....to seek professional advice. Should not simply rely on the web to cure any illness or disease.
