Pros:

Refreshing
Pulls out toxins
Cleared my skin after after about week

Cons:

Messy
Can be drying (read "Bottom line", I mix with Coconut oil to prevent drying)

I've been using bentonite clay for about a month now and I really feel like it has helped my skin a lot. At the moment my skin is completely clear except for one small under the skin pimple that started to come up. I don't expect it to even come all the way up, as the clay has been pretty much keeping my skin clear. Okay, so this is what I've been doing. I mix equal parts Clay and Coconut oil and use the mixture to exfoliate my face. It won't harden at all; it will feel like diluted paste. The clay will bead up slightly, but if you are noticing huge clay chunks, you may have used too much clay. I scrub scrub scrub...its not irritating at all...the coconut oil soothes and the clay exfoliates. Next, I put a little water on my hands and rub that all over my face, this turns the clay into a mask. I leave that on for 5-15 mins. The mask doesn't get overly dry or irritate my face b/c of the coconut oil, but it will still harden. Then I rinse the mask off and tone with diluted tea tree oil. My face isn't typically really dry after this process, but if it is, I'll dab a bit of jojoba oil or light moisturizer on it. That's all...my face has been feeling so soft, clean, and refreshed! Side Note: The first 8 days of using the clay, my skin broke out a lot. The clay pulled out all the crud. That being said, I don't think I really have to tell anyone one this site the importance of doing the internal work along with the external. Hope this helps someone!

Pros:

clay masks draw toxins and impurities
tightens pores

Cons:

messy
hard to get mixing proportions right at first
can be drying if you don't add moisturizing ingredients like honey to it

I cannot live without clay masks at least 2 nights per week. Now that I am in my early 30s and my acne is finally subsiding, I am totally into taking care of my skin and making it look it's best. I had cystic acne breakouts from age 12 to age 31 that left me with large pores and dull looking skin. Now that the worst of my battle with acne is over, I'm looking at ways to improve my skin. I was really bummed out to hear that there is nothing that can be done to shrink large pores, but I still wanted to try to make them better. What I've found is that while it's true that you can't make large pores disappear, you really CAN tone them up. Number one is keeping them clear. I use an extractor tool on my nose once per week to get blackheads and plugs out. This in itself makes those pores less noticeable. Clay masks like this one also help pull impurities from the pores and tighten them up-and while the effect is temporary, when you keep doing it consistently at least a couple times per week, your pores tone up and over time start looking smaller and tighter. Ice is also really important. Every time after I wash my face with warm water, I use a frozen water bottle on my face to close the pores back up. I am convinced that consistent use of clay masks and ice "exercises" the pores and they eventually tone up. My skin looks the best it has since I was a pre-teen. I'd say my pores are %50 percent better than they were before I started this regimen. They are still noticeable, but they aren't huge. I've also been doing dermarolling for collagen induction, and I don't know what part that plays, but I really feel like the clay and ice make the difference.

Pros:

Destroys oil.
Clears up skin
Natural
Very cheap considering how much comes in a container

Cons:

Requires mixing, but not a big deal
Not the best overnight spot treatment out there, but still pretty good
Somewhat terrifying when it's on

The directions say you can mix this with either water or apple cider vinegar. I've never used water, but I've used it with two different kinds of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and I have to say the Bragg brand works the best. It seems to blend a lot better and form a nicer consistency than the Vitamin Shoppe brand ACV. The first time I tried this mask, I had a panic attack after 20 minutes thinking there was no way this was going to come off.. So.. I would suggest taking it off in the shower. It's a little frightening to have on because it tightens so much and after a while you feel like it's eating your face. But it's worth it and it works, this has cleared up my skin SO much, other people have commented on it. I personally leave it on for half an hour now with no ill effects and I actually have very sensitive skin, but you may want to build up to a longer amount of time. Anyway, this is my favourite acne product. TRY THIS.

Pros:

Removes Blackheads, whiteheads, shrinks pores, draws out incoming pimples faster (thus explaining breakouts after first couple uses), 100% natural and hella cheappp

Cons:

It becomes tight, uncomfortable, and forms your face weird like my lips starts sticking out a lot more, may feel itchy especially in acne prone areas, it will smell weird if you add Apple Cider Vinegar, dries skin and hard to wash off

I having cystic acne, blackheads all over my face, and bad hyper pigmentation. I went crazy looking for a cure. Till I found this product on amazon. At first, if you are acne prone, you will break out because it will draw out impurities frm the skin. But after the use of this I could see all the nasty gunk pulled out. Like blackheads that were so hard to squeeze out is suddenly easier than before. I continued using this product 2x a week and had great results :D. Nomore yucky blackheads on my nose and cystic acne suddenly never came back. My face is still healing from the old pimples and occasionally breakout. But overall I love this product!

Best Mask out there for deep cleaning and pore minimizing...
The whole reason I started really incorporating masks was because I had a terrible reaction to the overpriced Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. I only used the $65 for 1.7oz moisturizer for 3 consecutive days. Days following, my skin looked like someone else's. I've had clear skin in my 20's. I'll be 30 in December. My forehead looked like a teenager who's starting puberty with all hbd acne. My cheeks broke out, my temples, and under my jaw and near my ears. 1. Washed my face with Cetaphil 2. Used my facial steamer to open up my pores 3. Apply my mixture of the ACV and then steam some more. 4. Once it hardens and cracks, it will begin to pulsate. Rinse this off or use a warm wash cloth to remove the thick mask 5. Use ice as a toner 6. Use Aloe Vera plant as a moisturizer 7. Thank me later. Below were my results I used the Aztec Clay last night, and added ACV, and (probably too much) honey [the consistency should be thick like pudding]. I left it on my face for an hour because the excess honey wouldn't allow it to dry and crack and pulsate like it normally would. But I tell you, my face was so smooth after taking it off. Then I toned with ice. Apply Aloe Vera (the actual plant) to your skin and sleep with it overnight. I woke up today with my face feeling so smooth and my new acne no longer hurts and has shrunken. The last time I did this, last week, white heads were coming up days after the mask. I highly recommend this to everyone. The ice and the Aloe Vera are also wonderful and help with inflammation and dark spots. Hope this helps someone.

helped me get rid of stubborn comedones
Hello! I have been using this product for around 5 months now. I decided to try it after suffering from acne for about 8 months after stopping birth control pills. I had the worst acne of my life at 22!! My forehead was completely covered with comedones and whiteheads spotted the rest of my face. I'm so grateful for this product and the effects it had on my skin after just 2 weeks (and only 4 uses)! It is a staple in my facial regimen - I use it bi-weekly for 20 minutes at a time and immediately moisturize after washing it off. This product has gotten rid of my forehead comedones and prevented new ones from popping back up. My overall skin oiliness has decreased and when I do break out it is less frequent and only 2-5 cover-able bumps. I also recommend this product for individuals who want to get off of topical treatments (benzoyl peroxide, SA, etc). When I first started using this product I was also using topical treatments - since getting off of those 1 month ago no changes in my acne levels have occurred. But please note I had been using this product for 4 months prior. In conclusion I would say give it a try for at least 2 weeks. The first time I used this product I noticed no effects but after the third time the effect was obvious. The point of this product is to bring impurities to the surface of your skin so after using it you will most likely immediately have new whiteheads that you can extract (if you know how). This product did not make me "purge". I used this with half water and half ACV in the beginning and now do primarily 100% ACV unless my skin is dry.

I am literally going through the same thing i was on birth control for 8 years and I recently stopped a couple of months ago and I have comedones all over my forehead! And the sides of nose like kind of on my cheeks! I’ve never had any of that! Has this really helped? I’m afraid of it getting worse. It really didn’t make your skin purge? How long did you leave it on for? Thanks!

DLS from Morgantown, WV
I am 18 years old and I have had trouble with acne all of my life. I've looked at myself in the mirror numerous times and hated what I saw. Nobody in my family has acne problems like me, they would only get a few pimples, where as mine is spread all over my cheeks and to my chin and upper lip. I have tried NUMEROUS things, finally I got fed up and started searching the internet for a powerful mask to help subdue all of my acne. I found this and I saw all of the amazing reviews and it made me so very excited to try it, so I instantly bought it, a pound of it was only 5 dollars so obviously then and there I thought it was just too good to be true. The very first week I used it every single day, for about 25-45 minutes. I tried to keep it away from my eyes from where I saw that it tightens the skin up a good bit. Well, I definitely felt the tightening and pulsating in my face, it felt WONDERFUL! Of course when I went to take it off, it was a little painful, but taking a hot wet rag and wiping it off, definitely makes it not hurt. I've used it about 7 or 8 times now and my face has started to clear up and the redness has all gone away. I'd definitely recommend using a moisturizer, I use Aveeno clear complexion, it seems to help as well. All in all, it is a very good product to use if you have really bad acne. At first you will notice more white heads, but its only due to the mask pulling it up to the surface, your face needs time to heal so I'd say the 4th or 5th mask you should DEFINITELY see a difference! Good luck! :)

amazing stuff was sceptical at first
i have tried so much stuff for my mild/moderate acne including duac and isotrexin cream i suffer from spots and cysts on my jawline and a few zits on my chin, it clears up almost completely in the summer but as it is winter now it was getting really bad so i thought i would give it a go. i live in the uk and bought it from amzon for around £8 i also bought some braggs apple cider vinegar to mix it with which costed around £7 which together is so cheap considering the amount of masks u can make with the both. anyway i mix it 50/50 and apply it to my face around every other day and my skin after 1 week has improved dramatically the redness on my jawline has gone down so much and the zits on my chin are basically healed and my skin in general feels softer smoother and cleaner i have also noticed it is less oily. the mask its self is a bit messy so i make a whole pot of it, the smell is also not great so i decided to add a couple of drops of tea tree oil which makes it smell so much better. it feels great on your skin and doesn't over dry my oily skin there are not really any negative things to say about this apart from its a bit annoying to wash off but it is 100 percent worth it and i am so happy what it has done for my skin ! JUST GO FOR IT YOU WONT REGRET IT

it works!
I dont usually write reviews but i want to help those acne prone skin like me. I have very oily and acne prone skin,i use so many products but this clay give me the quickest result. I never use with water but apple cider vinegar(BRAGG).Pour the vinegar first and next the clay so you can make the mask to the consistency you want and much easier. In my 2nd time using this mask i notice 2 big pimples in the surface( by the way i have cystic acne and oily oily face). But on my 5th time using this mask i notice very positive change,no more pimples and what is left is just marks. And i notice i never been oily like before. Because i have been suffering from acne for the longest time, this product help me in so many ways. Now in my 6th use, my face really better now. Just left with few pimple marks but the most important is no more pimple comes everyday. To those who have oily and acne skin. This might help you, never hesitate to try. I recommend this to my brothers who by the way is also oily and acne prone skin(its in our blood)they love it. I also drink apple cider vinegar mix with water everyday.:)
