DONT use it on your face
do not use this on your face. it breaks down your skin! but i do recommend that you use it on your teeth. Not only does it kill germs & bad breath, but I regularly get compliments on my nice white teeth.

It breaks down your teeth and bone the same way it breaks down your skin. We recommend if you use hydrogen peroxide in your mouth to dilute it with the same amount of water and don't do it more than once a week. You may suffer bone loss and weaker teeth which can cause severe sensitivity.

Pros:

-CHEAP
-Easy application
-Very effective
-Common

Cons:

-Makes skin red and blotchy when applied
-Can BURN if your skin is dry
-Smells kinda bad

I would recommend hydrogen peroxide. It is very common and something that not very many people try. It works. Like stated in "cons" it really really really BURNS. The burning will go away after about 60-120 seconds. Then your face turns red and blotchy, like after you take a long hot shower. But after that clears you don't get anymore breakouts, and the acne begins to slowly disappear. Beauty is pain ;) If your skin begins to peel, itch, etc stop using for about a week until your skin is supple again. The only way this product could be better was if it didn't hurt. But then again, thats the price you pay for beautiful skin.

Yeah basically

Pros:

Works

Cons:

can be drying

It dries out the zit. Put it directly on the pimple and that's it though. Like at night before bed. After you've washed your face.

Pros:

Kills bacteria, makes skin feel tight, clears up acne FAST

Cons:

burns a bit, a little irritating, smell, but all well worth it for CLEAR skin

Currently on minocycline which gave me a pretty decent initial breakout. I used HP to help with that and now 3 weeks after begining the regimen my face is spotless. I recommend this routine. Also, odd, but the HP diminished my scarring and red marks. YES.

Pros:

Great effective and inexpensive home remedy for certain acne conditions. I had a persistent small acne infested area on the chin that didn't respond to a number of topical treatments for several months. Two weeks of cleansing 2-3 times daily followed by applying HP with a swab finally cleared the infection. Applied a non oil based crème at night to moisturize.

Cons:

Skin drying and flaking. Possible bleaching of clothing if not careful.

Try this first over other more expensive remedies to determine possible satisfactory results.

Pros:

Got rid of bumps/cysts in the "ring" area on my face (cheeks, forehead, jawline)
Effective
Got rid of redness while I slept
Doesn't flake skin, clear solution (nothing like proactive mask that is white and visible)

Cons:

Perhaps it stings a bit at the beginning
Can't continue to put it on during the day bc of makeup! (not a big con haha)

OKAY I just joined this site and wanted to write my review. I am turning 24 soon and the year of 23 has been a fight against acne. I tried ProActive, antis, creams, blah blah blah. Finally, after doing more extensive research online, I came across youtube clips where people speak about their love for Hydrogen Peroxide on the face as toner. I began to try this method bc I was so close to giving up and just living with ugly acne, however, this started to work right away and my hopes became high again. I use it at night and in the morning. Simply wash your face (I use Spectrogel), tone with hydrogen peroxide (dab with a cotton pad, hold longer on alive pimples to kill it) and then moisturize! Honestly, try this. Google how it can help your acne and you will understand how it works. I still have a few pimple but it has changed my skin drastically.

I started using this due to these reviews but I will probably stop after I read this from Beautypedia. It doesn't seem to be worth the risk. I just thought I'd share this for full knowledge. There is a great deal of current research showing that hydrogen peroxide is problematic as a topical disinfectant because it can greatly reduce the production of healthy new skin cells (Source: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, September 2001, pages 675'687). Hydrogen peroxide is also a strong oxidizing agent, meaning that it generates free-radical damage. While it can function as a disinfectant, the cumulative problems that can stem from impacting the skin with a substance that is known to generate free-radical damage, impair the skin's healing process, cause cellular destruction, and reduce optimal cell functioning are serious enough that it is better to avoid its use (Sources: Carcinogenesis, March 2002, pages 469'475; Anticancer Research, July'August 2001, pages 2719'2724; and Cellular and Molecular Biology, April 2007, pages 1'2).

Pros:

Works well
works fast
cheap
doesn't smell

Cons:

bleaches hair
my hair turned from dark brown to blonde...

It's great. i've used tons of acne products. I've even used prescription creams and pills. This is just as effective for me, & way cheaper. You can pay over $100 for prescription or you can spend $2.00 on this.

Pros:

makes red spots/marks less visible
good antibacterial toner
oxidizes comedones to surface on the top, thus making it easy to extract
less irritating than Benzoyl Peroxide
can be used long term
very very cheap

Cons:

not an overnight relief
stings on first few tries
can bleach the hair
can be a bit drying, so use moisturizer
takes a week to see the effect

for 50 cents at food4less, it's almost free! anyone who haven't tried this is surely missing his life.
