Pros:

Really does help clear acne.
VERY cheap.
Easy to apply, no mess.

Cons:

While results start fast, it does take time to get full results.
Can bleach hair/eyebrows if not applied correctly.

I am 27, and have had clear skin most of my life until this year. For some reason, my skin broke out horribly on my forehead and I could not get it to clear. I saw this article about trying hydrogen peroxide and so started a regimine with it. When my acne was really bad, and my face was ultra oily, I washed my face and applied hydrogen peroxide to my forehead (affected areas) with a q-tip three times a day- to not apply to eyebrows and keep from getting too close to hair line. I followed with a nice natural herbal moisturizer. The acne began clearing noticibly within about 1-2 weeks. My husband was even commenting about my clearing complexion. I waivered from my regimine and was so distraut about my face I went to a dermatologist; I was told I have acne, duh, and that I needed some benzyl peroxide and Ziana. I fully intended to fill those prescriptions until I found out it would cost me about $650.00 for both (I am uninsured). To make a long story short, I bought the face wash recommended by the dermatologist: Neutrogena Clear Pore Wash/Mask and did a daily regimine of washing and using peroxide twice a day, and moisturizer before bed. After a few more weeks, the acne was DRASTICALLY diminished (my family was saying how much better my face was looking- they were surprised to know I was using peroxide). Today, my acne is about 95% gone. I have a few little pimples here or there, though I don't know too many people who don't. When they pop up I just rub them real well with some peroxide and it helps. I now longer have that gross oil feild on my forehead, and I still use peroxide, just once a day, or every other day now. My skin looks SO MUCH BETTER! I am going to start trying some lemon topically to see if I can help with some of the scarring now. Hope it helps too!

Pros:

Really helps clear up those red marks left from previous pimples. Takes care of pimples and really prevents new ones from coming. My skin has improved so much after using it for about a month.

Cons:

The only con is that you must be careful about not getting this on your eyebrows. It has the ability to slighty bleach hair if continusly used. Just avoid the eyebrows and you will be absolutley fine.

Buy it. It is a great cheap tool. Just be aware of your eyebrows.

HP for Acne on Forehead
I've never dealt with acne, not even in my teenage years (I'm 31 now). Over the past Summer, when my AC broke, I started to breakout on my forehead and over the next few months it got worse and worse, my forehead literally covered. I've tried everything from expensive cleansers and toners, to even being at the point of going to a dermatologist for a medication. As a female, you know how embarrassing this can be. And honestly, who has the money to buy every product on the market? Not me. I was at the point of no return and I know hydrogen peroxide is not to be put on your face long term but I figured, what do I have to lose? Plus, after trying all these fancy products, I figured, why not go back to basics? I started putting peroxide directly on my forehead with a cotton ball. Literally, it's only been a few days and already, most of the pimples are close to being gone. My husband has even noticed the difference! Yes, it does make your face scab and get really dry, so this is not a long term solution but it is the only thing that has helped me. If you use it too long, you will probably have more breakouts, as the dryer your face gets, the more oil it will produce to try to correct itself. So, again, I don't recommend it for long term use and definitely do at a time when you won't be leaving the house much for a few days but my face looks the best it has since my breakout started.

Pros:

- Cleans out pores quickly, removes redness, stops pimples (which are just starting)

Cons:

Stings a while, dries out the skin

Gently pop the pimple and apply a small amount of the peroxide. You can actually see it bubbling on the surface the pimple. The bubbling is a reaction between the peroxide and something in your blood. Removed / stopped three nasty pimples which were forming on my chin area. It does however leave a small scab which drops off after a couple of days. Don't use this as your primary anti-acne substance. I would suggest this as an infrequent desperate measure liquid.

Works good for cystic acne as well
I'm a teen and normaly have mild face acne but bad acne on my back and chest. Te other day I woke up with a horrid cyst on my chin a baby cyst right beneath my lip and a small cyst on my forehead. I was desperate to get rid of it and used hydrogen peroxide. It worked really well after only a day the big cyst has cleared almost all the way just flat and red now, the one in my lip has drastically gone down and the small one on my forehead has also shrunk. I wash my face with beauty counters daily cleanser and use a scar and fixing treatment on my face, then I apply the peroxide to a cotton ball and leave it on the zit for 1-2 minutes. I reapplied the hp throughout the day probably 3x totals. It does sting when it first goes on, but the sting and red go down fast. Everytime it would crust white after a few goes I would squeeze the cyst and get out all the gunk

Pros:

very cost effective
works immediately
reduces redness

Cons:

drying on the areas you apply it too

I have been struggling with acne all my life but for some reason as an adult (I am currently 36) it has come on with a vengence. It has truly affected my life and I am so tired of dealing with it. I have tried everything BC pills, prescriptions, expensive topicals, miracle spot eliminators etc and have spent a fortune trying to clear this mess. I tried this a few weeks ago as I read the other reviews on here about it and for the first time something actually worked to start drying up the acne.

Pros:

Works within minutes. I put this on an ingrown hair that I picked at and I immediately saw it working to reduce redness. I put this on a developing zit and within minutes I felt it disappearing.

Cons:

Stings if applied to a cut like after shaving.

Use it at least once a day, specifically before going to bed. My current regimen includes: Morning, night: 10% benzyl peroxide Afternoon: cetaphil cleanser before bed: 3% hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball

Pros:

Well, it actually clears up acne. :)

Cons:

None that I know of.

It's crazy, but this seriously works! Unfortunately I found out AFTER I ordered ProActive. Lol. (Btw, that stuff isn't as great as they advertise.) I wash my face in the morning with my ProActive face wash so I don't have to waste it since I just bought it... then I put Hydrogen Peroxide on as a replacement of that other toner that comes with the kit..Since all it did was dry my face horribly! Then after about 5 minutes, I rinse it off. And then I do it again before I go to bed. Just make sure you use moisturizer! You'll be pleasantly suprised, try it.

Pros:

IT WORKS, it's cheap

Cons:

none?

Okay, I've been using this for WEEKS. I thought of using it thanks to this site and reading almost all of the reviews. When I first bought it I used it as a toner and put it on a cotton pad. It did close to nothing. I finally started dipping q-tips in the bottle and spot treating my acne. (I have mostly whiteheads and the big red cystic zits) I saw it helped a little. I then remembered someone saying they hold a HP dipped qtip on their zits for ten seconds. I tried this. Worked like a dream. My acne is seriously under control now. Also, I bought a small bottle at CVS and it doesn't smell... just sayin'.....
