Pros:

anitmicrobial, pulls out dirt and debris with the stickyness.

Cons:

can make a mess, but do it in the tub or shower. or go buy some gauze and put it over the area covered in honey.

It works. I am an esthetician and a great thing to add to the honey to make a thicker mask is organic apple, blend in a blender, and some cinnamon, whole face 2tbsp. added. mix and apply 15-20 min. don't keep leftover so use small apples, also you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to it. To jen from other comment-you cannot use raw honey it must be filtered and preferably organic. raw honey can contain too many things that irritate your skin, even particles from the bees. so try it again with bottled honey from your grocery store but get organic. hope it helps.

Pros:

gentle, anti-bacterial, reduces acne bumps/redeness, tightens pores

Cons:

drippy

i was so amazed at the results of using a honey mask (1 tbsp honey with a tsp cinnamon) overnight. When i washed off the honey for the first time the next morning all my redness was reduced and most of my cystic bumps had also been reduced. my skin also felt softer and had a more even texture to it. i continued to use it for a week or so. However i stopped because it was very messy and upon trying again later it didn't have the same effects. it initially worked but didn't continue to work to completely relieve my acne.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne
Worked fast
It's helped my blackheads
Makes my skin look great!!

Cons:

It's kinda messy but not that big a deal

I'm so glad I tried this natural remedy! I slather it on my face about 2 hours before bed and rub it in around my nose. I usually leave it on for the whole 2 hours, but that's not necessary. My skin is smooth and glowing! I've even started having plugs come out of my nose which is amazing since my blackheads are like cemented in. Can't recommend this enough! Btw- I used raw honey.

Pros:

Skin is softer
redness goes down
reduces marks
helps complexion
natural glow
even moisture
tasty

Cons:

Sticky
Acne continued after not using for a week or so. probably not the honeys fault though.

I've only used this three times, and i use any honey lying around my house. I have to say, it works better than anything else. i'm probably going to start using it every other night, because every time i have used it it has helped immediately. It doesn't make my face too dry, nor too greasy. I don't know how acne medication cannot have honey in it, because it's the only one ingredient thing i have ever used for an acne treatment, and works better than everything else that contains endless different ingredients. I usually leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off really well with warm water.

Pros:

Taste, heals acne scars, helps with acne

Cons:

Smell, can be expensive depending on honey purchased, drippy

I, like many other users, was pretty skeptical of using a honey mask. But, after having a bad hormonal break out, I had visions of the number of purple marks that I would be left with for months after the acne healed. So, after doing a pretty extensive search, I decided that honey was worth a try. I ran to the nearest health food store and bought a fairly expensive two-pound jar of raw/organic honey and organic cinnamon and hazlenut, which came out to 30 dollars even (Each of my three prescriptions from my dermatologist costs 75 dollars, so this was a bargain). Let me tell you something; as a caveat, this organic honey ("Really Raw" brand) might taste like honey, but it sure doesn't smell like it--you get used to the smell after about five minutes or less, however. I put about 2 tablespoons of honey, half a teaspoon of both cinnamon and nutmeg, and two tablets of crushed aspirin in a cup, mix it together, then apply it to my face for about at least an hour or until I can't tolerate the dripping from the honey any more. After the first day, I wasn't very impressed. Four days later, though, and I am delighted. The new scars that would have been forming from my recent breakout are nearly gone, and my older ones are slowly disappearing as well, though not as quickly. Also, a new white head that was forming has also subsided and gone away; I'm not sure if that was the honey's doing, but I don't know what else would cause it. If the dripping starts annoying me too much, I literally place a piece of saran rap on the bottom of the chin to catch the drippings before they can fall on my clothes or bed, which they do. A few paper towels on your lap if you're sitting up doesn't hurt, either. I think it's great, and I will continue using it every day until my marks subside completely and perhaps continue using it a few times per week if it continues to help with my breakouts. Consider using this in combination wit

Whyyy ???
I can understand why after over using honey you get worse results and im going to explain you why but first excuse my english because it's not my first language :) I used honey when i had a soooooo bad breakouts and irritated skin and honey worked perfectly because of its antioxidents - anti irritations - moistrazing and anti bacterial agents BUUUT its anti bacterial option dont give it the right to be OVER used !! why ?? Don t forget that skin has what is known by GOOD bacterias protecting your skin from veruses and others bacterias and "killing " those by honey will lead tovery serious problems . I hope i helped you ^__^

Pros:

Tastes delicious if you accidentally get some in your mouth :)
Can be mixed with other things for more good effects (like sugar)
Makes complexion brilliant
Easy to obtain

Cons:

Can get sticky
Is messy if you are not careful

For much of my life I have applied a mask comprised of honey mixed with sugar (for exfoliating effects) and it leaves my complexion very pretty and glowing. I like that it doesn't matter if you get it in your mouth, because it's natural and won't damage you. I like that it's easily obtainable. I like that it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin. The only thing that can be a bother is that it drips if you put too much on, thus it can be very messy, but if you just put on an old t-shirt and wash it afterwards you're good to go. It may or may not help with scars, I've had good experience but I can't say for certain it was the mask.

i find it great for minor scarring and acne. really reduces redness and swelling especially if you have been messing with the pimples! i would recomend it to anyone as it is really gentle, i have sensitive skin and i have had no problems with it at all. steam face and leave on for 15 - 20 minutes for super soft skin and reduced swelling of acne!

Pros:

- cheap
- moisturizing
- reduces redness, swelling, scars
- heals wounds
- natural

Cons:

- none

I had the worst breakout of my life 2 weeks ago, so I did some spot treatment with PanOxyl. It took a week to rid of my pimples but my scars were still very visible. In desperation, I applied PanOxyl on my whole face - the next day I was red, dry, swollen. I thought I'd use the natural hair waxing honey I had around, just for moisturizing, but it actually got rid of my pimples and healed wounds (PanOyxl dried my pimples quite effectively but took longer for wounds to close). My face is back to normal after only 2 days! I only use Lactacyd as a facial wash (because of salicylic acid, and it's gentler on the skin). Then I pat my skin dry, apply the honey and leave it on for 10 mins., before taking a bath in the morning and at night. Because it has proven safe for my skin I am thinking I will fare better if I leave it on longer. I feel so happy I discovered this purpose, after all the years and money I've spent on chemical products. My mother, who disapproves of me putting anti-acne creams and gels on my face, surprisingly gave a thumbs up when I told her it was honey I was using. She didn't like that I looked like a glop of monster while using the mask though :)

Works better than a miracle cream
I've been struggling with acne for about 2 years now. i have tried creams from dermatologists, cream from the store, and many other cheap and expensive creams. However, idk why but last month my skin was getting worse and i got 5 big acnes, and i did not know how much the smaller ones. Then, i was so desperate because i did not know what else should i do to my skin, i did even cried after i talked to my mom when my acne got worse, because i have done everything to get rid of acne. I have a perfect diet by eating clean, no junk food, i eat fruits and vegetables everyday and i cook them by myself. I go to the gym and working out, i don't eat dairy products anymore, i don't even eat legumes. Then, i just googled DIY for acne, and i was interested in honey. I end up reading some reviews in this website, and i thought that i should give it a shot, because it's very easy to find honey, and i got nothing to lose. Even from the first time i used honey, this works like a miracle cream! Honey even works more effectively than any other expensive cream i had tried. My redness is faded, and my skin is softer than ever! However, to get rid of my big red acnes, i leave some lemon pulps exactly on my acne and leave it overnight. I don't think honey works for big acne. I put lemon on my acne for 2 nights, and they're gone! So, every night i put honey and combine it with a few drops of lemon, then i put it on my face for 1-2 hours, in the morning, i put only honey on my face before i took my morning bath, for about 30 minutes. You should try this for yourself and find if this also works like wonders for you!! Thank you guys Tips: make sure you use real raw honey
