Breakout
Last night I tried the honey mask, everything went well, and went to sleep hoping my face would get better. Instead I woke up with slightly red cheeks with bumps that look like I have bad acne, and it certainly urged me to itch my cheeks. I desperately looked at reviews, see if anyone else experienced it. It was either I left the honey mask on too long or I just have sensitive skin. Now knowing what I have done, I haven't seen anything about getting rid of it or how to treat it properly. I've tried cooling the rash down by applying ice. I really want to know if there's anything to get rid of it, how long it would take, and if it's safe. I really don't want to worsen it and I have a upcoming event in just two days. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who doesn't have sensitive skin. I've heard it's really good for others

Great cleanser, doesn't prevent acne though.

Pros:

Soft skin
Sped up healing of acne and scars
Cheap and easy

Cons:

Clogged drains
Doesn't prevent acne

I've been using the honey mask for years, twice a day in the mornings and before going to bed. It's easy and delicious - you put it on, go about your routine, and then wash it off with warm water. Use organic honey, especially if it's from wildflowers. It keeps your skin incredibly soft, it leaves a lingering honey scent, and it definitely speeds up healing of acne and scarring. Your face will also glow if you use it regularly. However, the honey mask alone doesn't prevent acne, and I don't suggest using it to get rid of zits. Another downside is that long term, using honey clogs your drains. If you can, try to wash off your face outside or find a way to avoid letting that honeyed water go down the drain to avoid expensive fixes. Use honey as an everyday cleanser, then couple it with lemon juice (add water for sensitive skin) to treat your acne. It'll take some experimentation to find the routine that works for you, but lemon juice from real lemons works very well. If you have an emergency zit, put some baking soda on it overnight, and make sure to moisturize with whatever face moisturizer you use after your routine. Voila! A home skin care kit that's cheap and that works.

i use this nightly with cinnamon mixed into it, and i find it to be helpful so far!

Pros:

smells and tastes nice
shrinks blackheads
evens skin tone

Cons:

drips off onto clothes and fabrics
difficult to get out of hair

definitely give it a try, it's relatively inexpensive. of course be sure that you are using honey, as many big chain grocery stores try to pass off corn syrup as honey sometimes! organic and local is best :-)

Pros:

Reduces redness
Smooths skin
Smells good
Moisturizes

Cons:

Sticky
Can be difficult to apply

I have suffered from acne for a few years and only recently has it gotten better. I started applying raw honey on my face 20 minutes a day and have noticed some change. I wash my face at night with Cetaphil, apply the honey for 20 minutes, wash it off with warm water, apply moisturizer, and spot treat with tea tree oil. My skin isn't as red and some marks have faded. Nothing too drastic, but it will help with time.

Pros:

-Actually works
-High availability
-Inexpensive
-Can get free travel-size pouches at fast food restaurants!
-humectant; leaves skin feeling dewy and moist, but not greasy.

Cons:

-That's how you get ants

I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on OTC acne treatments, caved and spent hundreds on prescription treatments with a dermatologist, and my sensitive skin just kept getting worse. I tried honey right before I was supposed to start Accutane, and thank GOD. I either wash with it like a cleanser or leave it on as a masque and my skin, while not perfect, has gone from embarrassingly angry to a few hormonal breakouts a month. I love honey and highly recommend it to everyone. The prescription things that did not work before I tried honey: -benzoyl peroxide (skin peeled off but still broke out) -salicylic acid (same as above, only less severe) -retin-a -monodox -orthotricyclin -sulfacetamide -others i cannot remember the otc things that did not work: -all of them, including proactiv and neutrogena and even things like miracle whip masque

Pros:

Raw honey is the greatest thing to have happened. It helps with acne, redness, wrinkles, you name it!

Cons:

None!

I have tried every face wash in the drug store, at the dermatologist, you name it. I even tried tea tree oil, that turned how horrible for me. I was fed up! Then I came across all these articles about how all these women used raw honey and never looked back. So I went to my grocery store and bought RAW honey. It's in a jar and it's not clear or runny. For the first 2 weeks, you will purge. In my experience, I had those little white heads, so it wasn't that annoying. By the third week, I was smooth, clear, and my acne scars had reduced quite a lot. My normally freakish oil face had reduced as well. I still get a bit of shine, but not nearly as bad. I appreciate that. This is what I use/do. Every morning and night I first use Mill Creek's Wild Oats Scrub (all natural ingredients- like honey, aloe, oatmeal, almond, and apricot) After the scrub, I wash with raw honey, just like you would do with any other cleanser. At least twice a week, I use Freeman's Cucumber Peel. This really brightens my skin tone. I never had a bad reaction from it. At least once a week, I will steam my face for 5-10 mins, then use pore strips. My pores aren't as clogged as before, I just can't help using them. It's a guilty pleasure... After I wash and/or use my peels. I will moisturize with Fruit of the Earth 100% aloe vera gel. The clear kind, I don't use the one died blue, I don't trust it. Some people may not have to use a moisturizer after the honey, but I do because aloe serves as an extra healing agent and of course it fades scars. If you've tried everything else and nothing works, please give this a try!

Pros:

-makes skin soft
-smells good
-prevents breakouts
-evens skin tone

Cons:

-doesn't clear current breakout

the honey mask is great!! it totally keeps new breakouts from coming and it makes skin soft and smooth and it evens the skin tone. My complexion looked great after using this. Make sure its organic, raw honey though. The least processed the better. The only con is it doesn't clear current breakouts, it only prevents new pimples from coming.

Pros:

- Get's rid of acne fast!
- Smells great!
- Tastes great!
- Makes skin calm, glowing and gets rid of the redness!

Cons:

- Sticky
- Can't go out with it on
- Hair can get stuck in it

I have never written a review before but I had to just tell all acne sufferers that this treatment is great!! I have been using the honey mask for a week or so and my acne has significantly cleared up. I wear it round the house in the evening with tissues over the top (so as not to drip honey or get it everywhere) and its like a surprise when I take of the tissues off after a few hours because my acne already has gone down and the redness lessened. I use benzac at night, take a vibra tab (doxycycline) during the day and use a honey mask in the evening. I think I will be clear in the next few weeks!!!!

Pros:

Nothing except felt nice to put it on

Cons:

Too bad im allergic to honey topically.. :(

Warning: Test out a small area on your face or your hand. Didnt know i had an allergy to honey topically (I have no prob eating honey). I even used organic 100% natural honey but within a few minutes, started to feel itchy and red bumps appeared all over my face ... :( booo... But if your not allergic, it sounds like a miracle! But rmb to try it out on your hand first

Pros:

Smells good
Moisturizes
Feels soothing
Rinses easy
Balances skin tone

I put together a mask using 1 tbs of raw organic honey, 1 tsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 tsp of cinnamon. I mixed these ingredients together and put the product on my face for about 30 mins, every other night or so and have been doing it for a few weeks now. Since I have started, I have less break outs, and my skin has a more balanced tone. It is definitely worth a try. However, I suggest that you don't do it too much because it can irritate your face. In all, I would recommend you do it three times a week for 30 mins each time, then rinse well. It is great for dry skin.
