Pros:

Very mild, great for sensitive clean. Cleans well for those without oily skin.

Cons:

Doesn't feel clean after using it. Doesn't lather well.

This is a great cleanser for those with sensitive or normal skin. However, I believe it's TOO gentle for those with oily skin. From personal experience, it cleaned well except for those bad days where my face was especially oily. Also, it hardly lathers at all, but I guess that's just personal preference.

Pros:

Everything, short ingrediant list, no menthol or other irritants, VERY gentle

Cons:

None

I've tried almost every product avail at a drugstore for my acne (which is mostly self-created from picking and squeezing) and they all make my skin dry and red and aggervate my acne. But this product made a HUGE difference, particularly bc it is soo gentle- i think that some acne is caused by a reaction to all the irritants and harsh detergants and alcohols in clearisil and stuff like that, as far as I know, if I leave my skin alone it clears up by itself. Also, if you work out and want to wash your face more than twice a day this is really good bc it won't dry out your face too much and water isn't required.

Pros:

Does not dry out skin and has greatly improved my complexion.

Cons:

At first the absense of foaming lather was a bit awkward, but it is easy to get over if the product helps your skin.

Like all products Cetaphil will not work for all skin types. My skin is sensitive and prone to dryness. I tried many different products to rid myself of acne to no avai. I finally realized that my dry skin was actually the problem. I was using drying acne medications that only further dried out my skin, which made my skin produce more oil to combat the dryness, resulting in more acne. Of course Cetaphil alone will not solve all your problems. You also need to exfoliate a few times a week. I would recommend a gentle exfoliator and if you are going to apply a topical acne treatment after washing your face follow up with some light non-greasy moisturizer. One product is not going to be your cure-all. If you wear makeup I'd also recommend wearing a tinted moisturizer vs liquid foundation or compact powder. And never wear your makeup to bed! Also if you are interested in using Cetaphil as a makeup remover I recommend you purchase the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser.

Pros:

Cetaphil used to work wonders for me. I had clear, soft beautiful skin - now my skin is constantly breaking out in cystic acne. It's painful and I look like hell.

Cons:

No longer works.

If it works for you use it until it stops. But once your skin starts breaking out give up and move on to another product.

Pros:

It's affordable, has no fragrance, easy to use.

Cons:

- Contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a known irritant
- It irritated and dried out my skin even more(I have dry skin)
- Acne got worse

I was one of the unlucky ones, I guess. Try it out for a week or so to see if your skin reacts badly to it. My skin started getting worse approx. 1 month after using this product. Before that, there wasn't much change at all. I ditched this for Olay Moisture-Balancing Foaming Facewash and it works much better [for me].

Pros:

-Lightly Moisturizes dry skin from topical medications.
-no smell, few ingredients, leaves skin feeling clean and soft
-It's good for people who are active and need to wash their face a lot because it's not harsh and won't overactivate sebum g

Cons:

-when you wear makeup you have to wash your face twice.

I LOVE THIS CLEANSER. I use the Kroger brand from Smiths because it's cheaper (it's basically the same thing) I use it injunction with my dermatologist's topical treatment (Clindamycin Solugel 4) and the topical treatment leaves my skin really flaky sometimes but this cleanser really softens it up and really helps my skin retain it's natural moisture without breaking out. Plus you can find it ANYWHERE. two thumbs up.

Pros:

I bought the antibacterial cleansing bar for my 10 year old son who got an infected breakout on his chin - he washes w/ the bar every morning and his skin cleared up, scarring has greatly diminished. Love that it was gentle on his skin too!

Cons:

None

I would recommend trying it. I first heard about it from a co-worker years ago whose friend was a dematologist. She had been using it for years. I remembered it and was desperate to try something non-harsh, non-drying and without alot of unnecessary chemicals. My son's skin blotches on his cheeks are evening out too - added bonus. It's cheap, easy to use and effective. At only $5 a bar, try it!

Pros:

This wash leaves your face feeling fresh and smooth, clears up acne without drying skin out.

Cons:

Does not lather like most washes, so the first few times you use it you use way more than you need to. But once you get used to it, a little bit goes a long way!

I have used this product for almost 6 years now, i absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone!
