Too Good Too Be True
I've used this product for 5 years straight. I started with listening to the media and using Neutrogena, don't get me wrong their products are pretty good. but Cetaphil doesn't dry my skin off and it cleans the pores and oils. If removing oil is a problem, try using a scrub before the cleanser

Lifesaver
I never post reviews on anything but feel like I should with this. I had a sudden acne outbreak when I got to 26, all over my cheeks and jaw. I was prescribed Duac and Doxycycline. Duac helped a little, but made my face super dry and itchy, doxycycline maybe helped a little, but then I read reviews about cetaphil on here. It has honestly helped so so much. I've never had perfect skin, and still haven't but cetaphil has cleared up my acne loads. I don't get spots like I did before, just a few red bumps maybe (which I used to get anyway), so I just pop sudocrem on and that does the trick. It has reduced the redness massively. I was at the point where I wanted to cancel my holiday because I didn't want to have to wear make up everyday to cover my skin (which I knew would make it worse still, but didn't want people to see my skin). I've also used Aztec clay healing mask mixed a couple of times a week with apple cider vinegar which seems to reduce the redness loads too. And people saying it doesn't clean your skin, I use this to remove all of my makeup, and it literally removes all traces of it...

Very Mild
I use this once a day in the mornings and have used this for years. Never dries out my skin and leaves my skin feeling fresh.

Eek and ew
I have to say I never really liked this stuff but for some reason had always heard it was good for your skin. Everyone said it moisturized it while cleaning it. But I never really felt clean after using it. Like there was always a layer of slime left coating my skin. No matter how much water I used to get it off. I just thought that must be the moisturizing element or something. Anyways, so then I started doing some research and there are some ingredients in there that are no bueno for acne prone skin (ceta-alcohol or something like that, I forget the exact name). once I learned that, I stopped using it immediately which was easy since I didn't like it that much in the first place.

Placebo - practically vaseline

Pros:

Gentle

Cons:

Parabens
Will cause breakouts
Does not help you, you would have same benefit if you just didn't wash your face

Contains parabens, leave's a film(!?), no considerable improvement, just vastly more gentle than other skin strippers cleansers. There is SO much better out there, being a guru of skin, i have tried everything there possibly is to try and spent thousands of pounds. Cetaphil is part of the waste of time and money category - try raw honey instead (actually gets rid of blackheads), or african black soap (use with caution if sensitive skinned, but great on body acne)

Pros:

-awesome for sensitive skin
-smells good
-helps reduce size of pimples

Cons:

-I still have acne:(

I had used cleansers with beads in them, but those made me breakout even more. When I switched to this, my acne got better. BUY IT!

Pros:

Smells great!
Foams up well.
Gentle.
Combats acne well.

Cons:

Leaves skin feeling a little tight.
Liquid-y.

I have had moderately severe acne for a while. Though mine isn't in quantity, I do get 2-3 cysts at a time that cluster together. It hurts. On top of that, I have uber sensitive skin that breaks out into bouts of eczema if I use the wrong products on my skin. I was told by a friend that Cetaphil is gentle, and works well to combat acne. For the first 3 months, my acne got worse. But I knew to try something for about 6 months before giving up, so I kept going... And before you knew it, my acne cleared up! It was fantastic. I would have to recommend that you stick with it when it's getting tough. It will work eventually.

Pros:

- would use it if I dont have anything else

Cons:

- left my skin dry and uncomfortable
- had to put a ton of moisturizer
- doesnt take makeup off
- doesnt foam

Before purchasing this I was using neutrogena 2 in 1 and the gentle exfoliating wash, but then decided to check the notorious cetaphil. I did that mainly because my skin got quite dry due to the retin a regime I've been on to and since ive heard its a great wash i though "why not give it a go" - bad idea. It didn't make my acne worse or anything, but my skin felt weirdly "squiky" and rough? I dont know how to describe it... Maybe im weird and i got used to Neutrogena...In any case, Not impressed
