Pros:

Works well at reducing spot size and redness. Didn't cause any reaction with my skin like rashes etc. Clinically proven unlike many treatments on the market.

Cons:

Quite pricey but worth a try nonetheless.

People who criticise this say it doesn't clear their acne. IT IS NOT MEANT TO CLEAR ACNE, this is simply an anti-inflammatory which helps reduce the appearance of acne. If you suffer mild acne its worth the money. The product did do exactly what it says it will do on the packaging for me - reduce inflammation. The fact that its medically tested helps as well. On the bottom of the box you will see PL 0173/0166. The PL stands for product licence and means that the product has been proven to work under medical examination. Many treatments such as Clearasil rapid action treatment cream do not have a PL, hence the products claims are dubious. I do still get spots, but freederm means they disappear within 1-2 days and the size of them is significantly reduced. Because I want to prevent the spots coming up in the first place I'm going to test out the old BP 2.5% for a while and see how it compares. But overall I would recommend you try it. For around £7-8 its worth a punt.

Pros:

Cheap, I paid about £4.99
Easily available in most pharmacies and supermarkets
Can be worn under make up
Clear gel that dries fast

Cons:

Does dry your skin so be careful when applying
Tube is a bit small for the price - cant imagine it will last long!

Try it.... what have you got to lose?? I've read lots of reviews for this product and most people moan about it drying their skin out. I can put up with dry skin if it means my acne is under control. I've only been using this for a few days and so far so good. My spots are smaller and not as angry looking as they were.

Gentle short term treatment for cysts
I have moderate cystic acne which creams that are benzoyl peroxide based are far too harsh to use. This gel works great for my cysts by drying them out and greatly reduces inflammation. After six years of trial and error of products, this is the only topical treatment I'll use on my cystic acne. The best part for me is it is far more gentle than prescription creams whilst being just as effective. The tube is small and it is pricey though. I only use it on my cystic acne so can't review the effects on normal pimples. It can sting a bit, especially on open or damaged cysts. But almost all topical solutions do a little anyway! Stinging disappears within seconds! I find it works best when you apply a liberal amount per cyst, hence I only use this before bed and when I'm staying home. Once dry it leaves a pale, translucentish/White film. Would recommend if you have mild to moderate cystic acne that is easily aggrivated by harsher treatment.

Pros:

Quality, Only used it for two weeks and spots have significantly reduced, it does bring the heads on alot of the spots but you have to have faith and just get through it.

Cons:

Very little cons, not that i can think of, very small bottle for the money

I Also use neutrogena face wash once a day in the shower and these two combined work a treat, whenever my spots are looking particularly red i apply a small film of sudo crem and these 3 together work absolute wonders, stick with it, you will see results!

Pros:

Doesn't dry skin like other spot creams, can be worn under make up, seems to be making an improvement.

Cons:

Initially seemed to increase number or spots including a couple of cystic spots! Quite expensive for a small amount.

Despite the bad reviews I decided to persevere with this product, at first it did seem to make my skin worse but now I feel like it has started to improve and I have been using it for around a week. Another positive is that it doesn't dry my skin out too badly, like other gels which usually defeats the object of clearer skin as make up looks awful on dry skin. I use it in the evenings after washing my face and during the day under make up.

Pros:

Helps fade scaring and dries out whiteheads. You can get it prescribed to you via a doctor or over the counter at a pharmacy under the name of Nicam Gel, you get ALOT which lasts for months if you do it this way.

Cons:

Can dry out skin but you should always moisturise so this shouldn't happen often. Causes a puritis process where you skin will get terrible but this is part of the cleansing process and means all the manky stuff in your skin is being pulled out

I've used this product on and off for about a year and it does work when used as a combination treatment. At present I am taking 300mg of Trimethopim (Morning and night) and using Clean & Clear facial wash and Aderma moisturiser in the morning. On the evening I used Clean & Clear facial wash with a thin layer of Suedocrem (I mean THIN, like a small pea sized dot on both cheeks and forehead is enough) and then a layer of Nicam gel on the most affected areas - DO NOT APPLY ALL OVER THE FACE OR AFFECTED AREA BECAUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT! You may find you break out alot more in the first few weeks but this is because all the impurities in your skin are being drawn out and it won't matter what treatment you use if it is working you will break out intially in the first 2 weeks, if it progressively gets worse then obviously stop treatment but give it at least 6 weeks. Also if you have severe acne scarring then I suggest buying a Aderma Zinc cream which soothes and calms infected areas.

Pros:

Very effective on moderate to strong acne

Cons:

You need to give it some time, and at first it encourages small whiteheads. Does dry skin a little.

I have been using this cream for about three months. I am 28 and have had acne since being a teenager. In the last year or so it had got much worse, so that I was scared of leaving the house. I started using Freederm three months ago and decided to give it some time to work. At first, it encouraged small whiteheads but these were hardly noticeable and in no way as bad as the acne itself. Now, three months later, and I can leave the house without any makeup at all! It is incredible! I still have a couple of spots, but they are small, dry and a much closer colour to my skin tone. I have tried a huge range of prescription and non-prescription treatments over the years. This is the first and only one to have worked! It's amazing! There is a mild fragrance but it is not as bad as most prescription creams I have used. It causes a little drying, but you can use moisturiser alongside. You can also wear makeup with it.
