Pros:

Supposed to be good for me.

Cons:

I'm over 40 and in perimenopause. Within a week of taking just one capsule a day my skin broke out like a teen's, especially on my chin/jawline. I also found that my cheeks and nose were flushing way more often. (I have mild rosacea).

I think it's best for those women in perimenopause to say clear of flax oil. I did research and found it has a stronger form of estrogen than even soy does. (Taking flax oil would be adding more estrogen to those women who are already estrogen-dominant).

Made me break out within a few days. When I stopped the flaxseed, I stopped breaking out as well.

Didn't work for me, but good luck.

i started using flax oil and it seemed to be working after a few days but then i broke out kind of bad. however i found out that if youre supplementing EFAs then you need to cut out all hydrogenated oils (cookies, chips, popcorn, fried food etc) or youre acne may get worse. so i'm going to continue with at least 2 tbsp per day and try and eat pretty healthy for the next few weeks and i'll update on my progress then

Pros:

regular bowel movement

Cons:

made me break out. its crazy

i was having 2-3 pimples during that time of the month so after reading rave reviews about flaxseed I decided to purchase some ( groud flax seeds not oil) so after a month I now have 5-7 cystic pimples on both cheeks. I really wanted this to work but i guess it's not for me.

Pros:

Cheap....

Cons:

BROKE OUT WORSE THAN EVER

I started taking this about a month ago because I had a big pimple on my nose. I had incredibly high hopes for this. Well, after taking the capsels religiously for a month, I broke out worse than I have in my entire life. I had SIX cystic/nodular pimples on my chin and under my nose. I was so upset, I didn't leave my house unless necessary, and, to prove how desperate and depressed I was, I was on the verge of ordering Accutane online. How unsafe and dumb!! This may work wonderfully for some people, and perhaps, if I stuck with it,. my skin would clear up and look better than ever. However, it's not worth the risk and the horrible days with all the acne that is finally now beginning to clear up after wearing the mint jaleup mask every night and salicylic acid spot treatment.

Pros:

Easy & Natural. My Skin is starting to look great

Cons:

I guess just dealing with the breakouts in the first two weeks

I really felt like I had tried everything but nothing seemed to work but then i came across flaxseed. I take 2 1000 mg organic flaxseed oil gel tabs in the morning and two at night. The first 2-3 weeks I seemed to break out a little more than normal. Week 4 I added a raw whole food vitamin with probiotics (vitamin code), and a product called candida clear by Now Foods and my face looks pretty darn clear and is starting to heal. You really just have to be consistent with it but it really does work. The flaxseed gel tabs cost me about $7 a month, the vitamins cost me $25 a month, and the candida clear about $10 a month. It might sound like alot but it works and its worth it.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Tried 1 tablespoon a day for only 3 days and within a week several deep, painful spots broke out along my jawline, much worse than any breakout I've had in years. The spots wouldn't come to a head and are still healing.

Never again.

Pros:

It's a beautiful thing...I started taking this because I thought it would be healthy for my heart...little did i know it was going to clear up my acne like it did...my face is as smooth as a baby's bottom and it's never ever ever!!! been like this.

Cons:

There really is none for me..honestly!

This product is cheap and effective! I wouldn't say it's the cure for acne because my acne wasn't that bad but it get's rid of even the tiniest pimples that you're so used to and don't see anymore. With that, it gives you a more youthful, flawless appearance. I use the pills from the Spring Valley brand; they sell at WalFart!
