Pros:

At first, seemed to help reduce inflamation of pimples (supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties). Affordable, natural, and great for your body in many ways and for health in general.

Cons:

Not sure to what degree this works in the "long run". Hard to determine what the right dosage is that works best.

Recommend it for general health and it did seem to help reduce the pimples when I first started using it. Will keep using it anyway most likely. USAGE: I take 3-4 pills of it daily, one or two with each meal. Only time will tell if it works for you "in the long run".

Pros:

Nothing-----yet

Cons:

tastes awful (although I mix it with juice/smoothie; I've used it for over 3 weeks and my acne is at an all time high; I'll try it for another 3 weeks cuz I'm persistent (like my acne!)

I'm not giving up yet.

For hormonal acne (Organic Ground Flaxseed)
My daily dosage: 3 tablespoons of Organic Ground Flaxseed. I struggled with severe depression and anxiety for 10 years. As you may know, having acne only made me feel worse. I took the pill and spironolactone and even though I had clear skin I wasn't happy. I knew I had hormone problems and recently I discovered I suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) hence these terrible symptoms. I found out on the internet that Flaxseed mimics estrogens. After two months, my skin was great (didn't have break outs) and the best of all: I haven't been depressed. (I don't know if I have low or high estrogens, but it works on my imbalance). Also, I include a free dairy/coffee diet, lots of water, Spearmint tea, exercise and a facial routine. I don't know if it's good for all women but I definitely recommend it. In the case of men, I've heard that maca works better.

Pros:

*Permenantly reduced pore size
*Refined skin texture
*Reduces oil production.
*Cheap & Readily Available

Cons:

*May break you out if you take over RDA
*Will make eczema worst
*Will not work alone - must have a good skin regimen

I took a chance on this as I didn't want to go on any crazy overdose of other vitamins/minerals and was looking for something simple and cheap. The RDA for the (Holland & Barrett UK) cold pressed raw oil I had was 5ml twice daily. Advantages of taking the raw oil form is you can control how much you take. I estimated 10ml seemed a little too much for me (I'm only 5 foot 1 female) and from a little googling the level of phytoestrogen is the highest available in any foods (the second was tofu/soya bean). I took a small tea-spoon (not table-spoon), after dinner each night. The first 2 days my skin seemed more moisturised and my pores seemed to become smaller. After that it started to make my mild eczema worst (under my lips and chin, nose). I took this for a month and had to stop. My acne seemed to get just a little worst, but I was expecting this. So, I thought that was that, doesn't work for me and left it... Four months later after stopping, I have noticed after each monthly menstral cycle, my skin gets less and less acne, my pores have become more smaller, and overall my skin is alot better. The acne also takes less time to heal. Regimen: 1)Exfoliate with my old towel (its 6 years old & balanced to my skin and isn't hard or too rough), hot water, gently wipe dead skin, old blemishes. 2)Johnson & Johnson Gently Daily Scrub - wash off 3) Quinoderm Anti-Bacterial Facewash - only use a small penny size amount - this is great stuff and has reduced the severity of my acne too. Do Not Wash off Quinoderm - leave on 4)Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash/Mask - only on nose and cheeks - leave on. Do not use on eczema patches, will make it worst. Morning - brush teeth then wash off Night - have shower then wash off 5)BodyShop Aloe Vera Toner & Vitamin E Spray on cotton pad around face 6)BodyShop Vitamin E Moisturiser - only a little 7)Salcura Intensive Eczema Spray on eczema 8

Pros:

Helped me to be more "regular"!

Cons:

Almost immediate breakouts on face. That's why I came here to check out a possible connection between the flax and acne.

After reading some comments here, apparently it works differently for each person. I don't know if I will continue taking it.

Pros:

Clears up.

Cons:

My bumps were gone! But my skin turned red and looked like a rash. I assumed that it was a allergic reaction from the capsules. I stopped taking them and in a week or so the redness stopped and I continued to break out again. Oh well.

It was a allergic reaction for me. It works well but it isn't for everyone.
