Pros:

Easy to use
Effective for mild blackhead breakouts
Can ultimately be used on any part of face

Cons:

may leave slight residue that can be washed off

I have been using these for about 10 years. I don't use them as directed 2-3 times a week. More like once a month or so. I use these on my nose when I see that it's time and also on my chin. The only con is that they used to carry these strips for other parts of the face but now you have to make it work for where you need them. 14 come in the package though, which is a lot more than used to for nearly the same price. It used to be only 6

Pros:

~Easy to use
~Effectively removes most blackheads, yay!

Cons:

Not that many come in the box, and although they are inexpensive, can get expensive if used as directed (2-3 times per week)

This product is fantastic! Highly recommend it! Despite what the box says, if you have blackheads on any other part of your face, like myself, (i.e. - forehead, chin) then by all means you can certainly use the strips in those places as well. LOVE seeing all the crap that comes out!

Pros:

cleaned pores, removed some black heads

Cons:

doesn't remove everything, do not use over severe acne.

When I used it I was surprised to see how much gunk was in my pores, it was pleasing in an odd way to see it all out. Personally this product didn't hurt at all and I have sensitive skin just so long as you apply enough water before hand it's no problem. Make sure to follow the directions carefully.

Pros:

none

Cons:

hurts when you take off
doesn't help with pores

I used this about twice a week since I bought it. This is the reason why I ultimately don't recommend it. There was this one day that I used the strip after I showered. My nose was fine; no pimples on my nose, just the regular little pores on my nose that I wanted to shrink with the strip. I used it then removed it in the time directed on the box. When I took it off, there was a medium sized purple-brownish bruise looking mark on my nose. It was really dark and it stood out. Thankfully it went away in 3-4 days. I have been scared ever since and haven't been using it. I googled it and there were a small few who had the same problem. Use at your own risk.

You're not supposed to use them that often because the physical pulling might rip or bruise the skin. Should be obvious after one use but apparently not. It will not shrink your pores. It will remove buildup that's holding the pores open but you have to mitigate clogging them up again by using something not goopy like straight witch hazel as a toner after washing you're face with a frothy and oil free wash

Pros:

Certainly looks impressive
Removes sebum plugs

Cons:

Doesn't do a lot for acne
May aggravate acne
Really expensive

The first time you use a Biore nose strip, it looks awesome- all those sebum plugs on the strip makes you think you've done some deep pore cleaning. I know the first time I used it, I was like WOW! However, this is pretty much an illusion. The fact is, removing these sebum plugs this aggressively causes your body to produce more sebum to fill those pores (which are now empty), thus aggravating any preexisting acne. You can't really use this over an active acne pimple because it can't really pull anything out due to the inflammation. You are better off letting the acne run its course. In conclusion, I think this is definitely not a product to help with acne; it's really for people who don't have acne who want to reduce the appearance of the pores on their noses.

Yes, that's a no in the instructions, DO NOT use on acne spots, only blackheads.

What you need to do is wash your gas gently with something frothy and oil free but not acne wash. Then you need to use witch hazel toner and a makeup pad to swipe it over the face, then you need to put tea tree oil on a cotton tip and dab really well on your big pimple areas and other areas you think will flare back up lightly, this is important. It's a natural anti bacterial that cured my first navel piercing infection OVERNIGHT, then you put your moisturizer on after 5-10 minutes. The moisturizer will counteract that overproduction you mention and the witch hazel will have kills a few bacteria bits in the open pores first while the tea tree oil will continue to do so under the moisturizer. It's not a perfect system but you will feel so clean and soft after a day or two once the skin settles back down. I'm lucky in that I don't have that issue you've had but then again I've always taken the above precautions to a varying degree(if I'm really mad at my skin I'll use the tea tree oil solution(water and tea tree oil premade in the factor, not pure tea tree oil) all over my face and not moisturize. It will hurt your skin though I'm sure if you did that. So I wouldn't recommend it.

Pros:

None that I can think of

Cons:

Doesn't clean pores
expensive
rips skin tissue off of face

I tried everything to make the strips work! Steam, warm water, and cleaning nose beforehand. They just don't seem to clear the clogged pores. The strips remain clean and my pores remain clogged

Pros:

Removes a considerable amount of blackheads
Easy to use
Quick
You can see the blackheads afterwards

Cons:

It doesn't work if you use it more than 2 times a week
May hurt when you pull the strip off
Doesn't remove all of your blackheads
A bit expensive

I love Biore Pore Strips! I use them twice a week. The instructions say to wait at least 3 days before using the strips again. You can use them more often, but only a few blackheads will be removed, and I don't think it's worth the money. I have a TON of blackheads, and the pore strips can usually get off 25% of my blackheads, which i think is pretty good. :) My favourite part about using them is looking at all the gross little blackheads! It's actually quite a good feeling. Like winning a battle in the war against blackheads. Lol. Occasionally, it will hurt when you take it off. Just dab a little water on the trouble area, and you should be fine. I try to use them after showering, so my pores are open. Steaming your face should be fine too. I spritz my nose a couple of times with a spray bottle, so that i can get water everywhere. Then I quickly put the strip on. Gently pat down the strip, and make sure it is reaching the creases of your nose. Try not to move your face too much, and keep it on for 15 minutes. It is kind of expensive, and after buying it a couple of times at wal mart, I found out Costco was selling them! It is A LOT cheaper at costco, and they sell them in boxes of 2.
