Pros:

Moisturizing
Smells amazing
soothing
gets rid of redness from my rosacea/dermatitis
all natural

Cons:

Strong coconut smell. If you dont like the smell, either deal with it or dont use it. It is a great natural product and Ill use it forever to keep my skin under control.

I dont have acne. I have dermatitis and rosacea. ORGANIC EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL has completely changed my skin. It helps with redness and blotches I get from the rosacea/dermatitis. It is an anti fungal, anti inflammatory moisturizing oil. It is the only product I use on my skin. My skin was horrible. I was getting red marks (not pimples) from the rosacea at least 1-2 times a week. They were stubborn and always left a red mark for a while. Using Coconut oil every night was the best choice I made. I used Natures Way EFA gold.

Pros:

great mousturizer, helped bring acne to a head and seems to be helping prevent new blemishes

Cons:

somewhat greasy, have to wipe it off after awhile

Using this has made a difference. My face is not red and irritated looking anymore. When I do get pimples, they go away faster b/c the oil helps it come to a head. Coconut oil has antibacteiral properties, you do need to go the extra mile and purche the extra virgin organic kind.

Pros:

great moisturizer!

Cons:

greasy. may be hard to find in a store for some people. usually cheap.

i use this every night and after i take a shower. dont use it in the morning since it'll make your face look shiny. i always leave it on and nothing happened to me? other posters said it caused whiteheads but im fine... i got mine from an Indian store its nothing fancy or organic, but try it and see if it works for you. if you want to heal some serious dryness and redness i recommend it! works great elsewhere too. i have eczema and it helps a lot. $5 for 20 oz! dont worry if it looks solid in the bottle, once you put it on your skin it melts. kinda cool. hehe

Pros:

Good moisturiser for hands and feet

Cons:

Very oily.
It is clogs pores

I broke out withing 2 days of using coconut oil on my face. Although it is a good moisturiser and it is supposed to be helpful in fading acne scars... BUT coconut oil is highly comedogenic.. it clogs pores. I think it is best to avoide using it on the face for people who have acne problems. Use it on your body instead for soft silky skin.

Pros:

Great for body, but not too sure about face. This is day 4 for me and I've been seeing a few whiteheads (which disappear pretty quickly), also my skin feels dry, which is strange since VCO is suppose to moisturize.

Cons:

I'm not sure if the oil is exfoliating and extracting impurities or if it's clogging my pores. Maybe I haven't found the right amount (I've been using it every night)

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated :)

Cons:

Caused more breakouts than before

I have been struggling with acne for years now so I thought I would give organic coconut oil a shot. My face started to break out within a couple of days and never really got better. After about 2 weeks, I had large pimples beneath my skin beginning to form. I realized it was only worsening my skin. I was breaking out all over my face, so I decided to stop. Once I did it began to clear up right away. I suggest anyone with acne prone skin NOT to use any OILS on your face.. it will only worsen it. Oil causes acne, and you should be trying to dry it out instead of adding moisture that you do not need. Going back to lush products, they worked best.

Pros:

Cheap, natural, good for hair apparently.

Cons:

highly comedogenic, oil shine after application, oily pillow

I read the rave reviews and bought the extra virgin unrefined coconut oil from GNC. I used it basically as a moisturizer after applying toner. 2 weeks later, I had a MASSIVE breakout and NO this was not my skin purging itself. Why? Cos I broke out in places I had never even had acne before. It's the worst. It may work for some but if you have oily skin, watch out.

Pros:

Great for eczema
A good body oil (when you avoid acne prone areas)
Smells like a coconut dessert

Cons:

HORRIBLE for acne!
Must melt it before using (unless you're in a hot climate)

I'm VERY surprised at all these good reviews on coconut oil. In all other respects, it's fantastic, but it's HIGHLY comedogenic. I used it once on my face for an hour or so, and the next day my face was riddled with cystic acne (mind you my face is very reactive). Yes, it does have anti-inflammatory properties- But... Even if it calms the swelling and redness of existing pimples, it will clog your pores and make more. Try it on your nails, hands, eczema patches, feet, hair, but NOT on an acne-prone face or back.

Pros:

Great moisturizer.

Cons:

Extremely comedogenic, worst breakout I've ever had in my life.

Excellent as a moisturizer on non-porous areas like hands. Do not use on face/back/neck!

Pros:

Cheap, easy, natural

Cons:

messy, doesn't fully absorb so your skin looks oily. didn't really clear my acne.

I think coconut oil works moderately well. I used it for a long time with some results, but no miracles. I do really like the fact that it is natural. After using coconut oil I started some research into natural face products and I found this AMAZING company called In Love with Bodycare. They use coconut oil in a lot of their products, along with other natural ingredients. These products have seriously changed my life. My skin is always completely clear now. I haven't had a break out in a year. I can't even express how awesome the face wash and lotion is. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. I am someone who has tried everything, and I this is the only thing that has worked 100% for me. I know how awful it feels to have breakouts and this really, really works. Please check this company out, it is so, so worth it.
