Pros:

Keeps the acne in check, and definitely keeps large blemishes from getting bigger. It is not irritating on my VERY sensitive skin, save for dryness that can be remedied with moisturizer.

Cons:

I still have breakouts, though they aren't severe. Skin does get a little flaky. You absolutely have to stay out of the sun.

It's the best acne topical medication I've used, and I have used MANY. I've been using it for 6 years, so obviously something must be working. My dermatologist will prescribe nothing else for me.

Pros:

it semi-working for me...

Cons:

makes skin dry and flaky.....but try not to use alot

i've been using benzaclin for about 1 month and up to now i still have the same blemishes that i had when i started using it well only on one side of my jaw line. It sure has not giving me any problems on my other side of my face.in fact it did work but somehow it's not been working on my right side jaw line. i have no acne else where except their. the price is good if you have insurance. i have used many many products including accutane, proactive and others.

Pros:

Stops oily skin, removes some acne

Cons:

Dries out skin

Due to the fact I'm 15 and live in England, I don't have to pay for Duac, I get it freely prescribed by my doctor. I've been using this for a few weeks now and it kinda works... It clears up the spots that I've got fast but so far hasn't stopped new ones. The dry skin is a bit of a bummer, but moisturising in the morning does help a lot. I'm guessing from other reviews that I need to wait a while longer. Fingers crossed!

Pros:

Works well. Not much of a scent.

Cons:

Took a few weeks to kick-in. Needed it to work sooner b/c I had senior prom and graduation. Can't wear in sun light b/c skin will peal.

Great product. The only thing that worked on my bad acne.

Pros:

I am 37 and have had cystic acne since I was a kid. Duac works better on me than anything I have tried, including 2 stints of Accutane. I did not know about it until a few months ago, and I am very pleased.

Cons:

Very drying, a bit itchy. Once my skin got a good deal better, I switched to using it every 2 or 3 days, because of the dryness, and it still worked.

And for me - very expensive! Prescriptions are not covered by my insurance.

Very much worth the drying, and even the price.

Pros:

Cleared pimples quickly

Cons:

will have to wait and see, hopefully none.

in reading some of these reviews (the ones that don't speak highly of Benzaclin) I wonder if they are applying Benzaclin all over your face, in which that would indeed sting like a mother I would imagine and make things worse because it would dry out and irritate the skin. I have only been using this for a few days, so take this with a grain of salt. I have experienced great results, using it at night and in the morning. It seems to kill my pimples (the larger red ones) and also white/black heads. I use it as a SPOT TREATMENT however as my derm recommended. I would not use this all over my face as A) it would sting and irritate the skin I would think and B) my skin would get immune to it much faster. Also I have OILY SKIN and this seems to work well. The thing with acne treatments is people need to mention their skin type and previous treatments, otherwise a comment like "it worked or didn't work for me" might be completely irrelevant to other people. Pros:

It works when the product is fresh, and clears up the face temporarily.

Cons:

Does not stop every problem spot, its stops 90% of it and then one or two will appear, also product expires fast.

Overall product is good, but does not fully fulfill what most think/say it will.

Pros:

this stuff WORKS! used all kinds of washes and rinses and differin, no dice. benzaclin makes a clear difference if used regularly, not just on spot treatments but all over wherever you break out (my jawline personally)

Cons:

drying, creates flaky/red areas, just use aveeno ultra-calming face wash, should help. moisturize as needed. still have occasional breakouts, derm says thats to be expected, ugh

definitely get it even though its pricey and dries out your skin. here's a good tip - apply it with q-tips, not fingertips. even clean fingertips can carry microscopic bacteria that worsens your spots. just rub it in with the q-tip and use a white pillowcase.

Pros:

Have only been using for 4 days and it has already started clearing up my complextion.

Cons:

Dry skin but worth it.

This product works fast. Looking to get rid of acne fast this works just put lotion on your face about 15 mins after application to help with dryness. It is expensive if you don't have insurance to pay for it $116 for 3 month supply but mine was free because of insurance.

Pros:

excellent at clearing up skin quickly

Cons:

recently learned that benzoyl peroxide becomes a free radical in the skin which promotes premature aging

I have tried every prescription medication for acne available with an exception of Accutane and found this to be the best. It has kept my skin relatively clear for about 7 years. Whenever I think I've probably outgrown my acne, I discontinue Benzaclin only to discover that within a few days, my acne returns. However, for the past couple of months, my skin seems to have finally stopped responding. Then upon learning that while I've been thinking I've been taking excellent care of my skin by keeping it clear, wearing sunscreen, and wearing mineral makeup, that I am actually subjecting my skin to free radicals when I apply Benzaclin. How discouraging! I've always taunted my friends for continuing to go to tanning beds, and I have been causing unnecessary damage to my skin without even realizing it! So please reconsider your regimen if it includes benzoyl peroxide if you can obtain similar results with another medication.
