Pros:

I have been using Proactive for almost a year, but I found that I was still breaking out. I've been using Benzaclin for about 3 weeks now and even with my period found it to be very effective. It also seems to be lightening some of my scars.

Cons:

Drawbacks are the dryness that others have commented on. I'm now using it only at night and the Proactive solution in the morning. This seems to be helping. I also use a moisturizer called Glaxalbase. This is what is used for prescription creams.

I'm very pleased with the results of Benzaclin. I think it takes a little adjustment for each individual who uses it. But if you stick with it you'll see results. It was only about 3-5 days before I noticed a remarkable difference in my skin. In the last three weeks, I've had one pimple. That's pretty amazing. I too am concerned about light sensitivity since I enjoy the outdoors so much. I've got a 60 SPF called Anthelios 'L' by La Roche-Posay and it has worked wel for me in the past - and it doesn't cause break outs!

Pros:

-Clearer skin
-less oil
-still working and it s been over a year
-reduces size of pimple sooner

Cons:

-Dry skin
-Takes about 3 weeks to see improvement
-slight redness
-flaking
-didnt fully clear my skin

It worked and is still working pretty good and its already been over a year. I have suffered from mild to moderate acne for about 4 years now...Im 17 by the way...anywho i was prescribed this duac gel by my doc and when i started using it my skin became unbearably dry and flaky and my skin also became red it did help with some of my acne so i stuck with it ...soon enough i realized that the moisturizer i was using was no good soo i ditched that and began using cerave in conjuction with EVOO and Jojoba oil my flakes went away along with the redness now my skin is perfectly fine and the duac is still working (Athough i would prefer my skin to be completely clear :/ ) i would reccomend using this if you have mild to moderate acne cuz in my opinion it does work also try cerave if you have dry sensitive skin its AMAZINGGGGGGG!:) P.s. it was 50$ with my insurance

Pros:

It cleared up my moderate acne.
Pretty easy to apply.

Cons:

Bleaches clothes.

Very happy to have found a prescription that works, after messing around with a bunch of over-the-counter salicylic acid gels and things that didn't work. Been on it about 2 yrs now. You've gotta stay consistent with it or else breakouts start up again pretty fast (I sometimes break out again after just one weekend of not using it), but that could be different for everybody. I haven't had any problems with sunburn or other side effects either. It does bleach clothes and pillowcases though, so be careful with it! Recommended!

Pros:

Clears up acne very quickly, and reduces the size of pores.

Cons:

Makes skin dry and somewhat itchy. It doesnt do anything for preexisting scars. I dont know if it's just me, but it doesnt wear well under my makeup.

I havent had problems with acne in the past, but recently I have started to break out pretty bad. My doctor prescribed me Benzaclin and i was a bit skeptical, especially after reading all the good reviews. After the FIRST DAY (using it both in the morning and at night) i started to see some results. I have always had larger pores and problems with blackheads on my nose. Many of the pores shrunk and the blackheads have cleared up. I also use it on my back because i break out quite often on my shoulder blades. Most of the acne is cleared up. I highly recommend this to anyone who hasnt found anything that works for them.

Pros:

Cleared up my skin significantly within the first week! I use it every other day and have remained relatively pimple free for about a year other than the occasional pimple here and there

Cons:

can be irritating to the skin in the beginning but no worse than any other acne product out there

this is an excellent product

Pros:

It works very fast.
It works well.

Cons:

It can cause delayed allergy.
Costs a lot.
Stains things.

I tried this cream and within 10days my skin was remarkably clearer, though obviously it wasn't 100% but i never got to continue with Duac as i had a delayed allergic reaction to the benzoyl peroxide. My face swelled, my skin on my chest, fact, neck and shoulders burnt, red, itchy and very sore. I had to have 4 steroids a day and an antihystamine which still hasn't cleared it up!!! My god this rash drives me insane, it keeps me awake and is so sore and itchy. Seriously, u get this cream, put it on your shoulder for a week first to be sure that you are not allergic. Regardless of it all though, i do still recommend it!! Mad i know, but it really does work!-well, if you're not allergic to it lol!!

Pros:

Works fairly quickly. Gets rid of annoying blemishes. Doesn't burn on application and dries quickly. No smell.

Cons:

EXPENSIVE... wouldn't even consider it without insurance... even with insirance it's still 50 bucks. I wish it didn't have a 3 mo exp, because sometimes I'm not done with it by then and I gotta toss it.

WORKS.
