Pros:

Great stuff; gets rid of emergency problems fast and is even great for bad suffers! I do not suffer bad from acne and I would probably consider it light most of the time. It heals post inflammatory problems, or red marks! <333

Cons:

There are no cons to something so cheap and 10x more effective than any Proactive type crap on the market.

Great stuff, give it a go and you will not be disappointed. There is a clear kind that is generic from my grocery that I use. I recommend that. It will not turn skin pink. It leaves what seems like a mucus membrane looking thing upon the skin that peels off easy, almost like a mask so it's great for night time wear. Incredibly soothing, gentle, does not burn skin probably like other Acne products. I think the best pro about it is the healing of the red marks to normal skin tone.

Pros:

Works quickly to reduce swelling, irritation, and pain of acne. I used the caladryl clear version, so there is no white or pink residue. Within minutes my skin felt softer, cooler and less irritated.

Cons:

cant think of any

I have been using a daily acne scrub the last 5 days, and my skin is a wreck! It went from 4 or 5 tiny blemishes on my forehead, and several around my mouth and chin, to over 25 blemishes on my forehead!!!! OMG ...the battle got even bigger...I did not use the acne wash today, instead just cleaned my skin with apple cider vinegar and water, then applied the caladryl !! OMG at the improvement within 15 minutes, the blemishes are smaller, the redness is not at noticable and my skin is not hurting and burning

Pros:

Seems to pull the fluid out of acne

Cons:

Doesn't really get rid of acne

Consider this as one item in your anti-acne arsenal. I believe what it really does is pull out the fluid part of the acne cysts, thereby reducing the inflammation. It doesn't actually fight acne, but I continue to use it. I use it on my chest and one benefit is that it keeps me from picking since it's kind of like chalk on my skin.

Pros:

Their isn't any chemicals in it

Cons:

N/A

I've decided to write a blog today, because I was curious to see if anyone else used calamine lotion for acne too, after reading that many people have ,I thought I should tell my story, First I am 40 years old and a red head w/ very fear skin, I can't use vitamin E or any products w/ chemicals in them , I have been using calamine lotion sence I was a teenager and used it on everything from coldsores, acne, and exzema, I find it doesn't prevent acne, but it does dry it up fast, also me being fear skinned it also acts as a cover up, over the years I have tried other products and found that they just make it worse, some have taken the skin right off my face:( others cause more acne or have vitamin E in them which causes me to get cysts:( I remeber the first time I went to the Derm, and told him I used calamine he laughed at me, I'm findig that the less stuff in products is better, and the drug company;s probably don't want you to not spend your money on theirs,I'm always going to use this !!

Pros:

Inexpensive purchase and easily found at most grocery stores and pharmacies. Works surprisingly fast and with little to no skin irritation if used regularly.

Cons:

Can be messy and also leaves you looking like a ghost after application. Best to wear over night. Also can be drying, so apply face lotion as needed.

I was a tad skeptical about the effectiveness that calamine lotion had in eliminating acne, but with the combination of drinking plenty of water, taking vitamins, and applying calamine lotion to the affected areas on my face I noticed such a different by the fifth day. My skin feels and looks softer and my acne is almost completely gone. Even the red marks which are typically left after a pimple has healed is almost unnoticeable. For those with very sensitive skin like mine, I strongly recommend using calamine lotion as it does not irritate or burn it.

Pros:

Inexpensive, soothes skin, reduces swelling and pain of cystic acne

Cons:

Can't be worn under makeup.

I use a clear version of calamine lotion. It has the shiny look of one of those peel off facial masks when it dries. However, you can't use it under makeup because it does tend to peel off as you apply the make up. If you don't use makeup, you could probably get away with wearing a light layer of it. This is the best thing I've found so far to help with the incredible pain of cystic acne. I think the topical zinc is what helps with the healing. BP only makes my acne worse -- this helps but does not seem to cure it. Of course, I have severe acne and am getting ready to take another course of Accutane for it (10 years after my first course) -- but I am amazed at how much it helps to reduce swelling and pain associated with the cysts. Once I start the Accutane, I'm not going to use it, but it has been a godsend for me until I am able to start the Accutane again.
