Pros:

cheap, gentle, really seems to work so far!

Cons:

none that I've found yet

I wash with baking soda twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before bed (before I wash at night, I use an oil-free make-up remover first). Here is the full routine: I make a very thin baking soda paste and gently scrub my entire face, I do not leave it on as a mask. I rinse it off with warm water and then use an apple cider vinegar mixture as a toner. The ACV mixture is 1T ACV to 1 c water. I mix it in a spray bottle and then just spray a little on a cotton ball. I then rinse off the ACV with cooler water. Then I mix a little bit of BP with my oil-free moisturizer and apply all over my face. I'm just hoping this continues to work because I've spent so much time and money trying to find what works. Most things work for a month or two and then they stop working. So I really hope this one lasts.

Pros:

The best thing ever...

Cons:

slight tingle, but you cannot scrub it into the skin

I have suffered from severe acne since the age of 10, and I have tried everything under the sun, even under the docters care.. I tried using baking soda as a paste a week ago, and I use it twice a day, then after I wash my face with it, I clense my skin with seabrezze, only to get any excess dirt off. afterward a mostorizer is a MUST.......I luv the GLOW>...

Pros:

Gentle, natural, clean, cleans really deep into pores, and works well. Cheap!

Cons:

The first time you use it, if you leave it on, it will burn like hell. Can't be used alone.

I love Baking Soda as a cleanser. Rather than scrubbing/scratching at your skin like other scrubs, it buffs away dirt, dead skin, and oil. It cleans very deep into pores and pulls yuck out of them. After the first use or so, it didn't burn for me. But here's the deal-you can't use it alone. Baking soda has too high a pH level for your skin, you need something to even it out. I suggest using apple cider vinegar (diluted) as a toner. It will even out the pH of your skin, and it minimizes pores. Try it!

Pros:

Makes skin very soft and reduces redness almost immediately

Cons:

BURNS AMAZINGLY BAD.

I tried to use it as a mask, I had it on for like.. a minute AT THE MOST and it was sooo bad. I rinsed it off right away, and it burned while I was rinsing it! And my skin was REALLY red after that. I might try it again, after I try everything else in my book that I made of awesome skin techniques.

Pros:

clears up acne pretty quickly

Cons:

tends to burn a lot sometimes.

I tend to use this as every once in a while as a quick way to get rid of stubbor break outs. Usually I will use it for two days in a row (at night) when I am having really bad break outs and it works pretty well to clear them up. I wouldn't really try using it every day though, I mean, considering it can be used to clean things (and it is a REALLY good teeth whitener, but must be used VERY sparingly), I figure it can't be that great for your skin...
