Pros:

works great to get rid of dead skin, i just mix it with my cleanser and it works great

Cons:

none that i know of; may be a tad irritating for those with extremely, super sensitive skin.

gets rid of all the dead skin and is a great exfoliant. it has cleared up about almost all my acne and ive only been using it for about a week and a half. i rub it on my face for like 30 seconds with the cleanser and then just rinse it off. i highly recommend this. its really cheap too

Pros:

Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and it doesn't require like a million different products.

Cons:

Stung a little at first but that has stopped

Try it if you don't like it you lost 1 to 2 dollars big whoop. It has stopped any new acne from forming so I love it. Also works as a teeth whitener but it tastes really bad. used for 4 days.

Pros:

CHEAP, easy to use as a mask or exfoliant, effective as something to use in addition to your regular skin regime. A rare case of an exfoliant, ino, that does not exacerbate the spreading of acne.
Makes skin less oily & smooth.

Cons:

It does make my skin a little red however its not irritated and the redness does not last long at all. Also if your not gentle or use it too often it can cause dryness/irritation. Be gentle! ;)

I'm very happy to see something thats SO incredibly cheap work as well as it does. I would not say this on its own would clear up my skin but its the ONLY exfoliant I've tried that hasn't made my problem worse. (St. Ives acne scrub spread my acne.. it was HORRIBLE I do not recommend it btw. Evil!) This is my current regime thats been working quite well.. (I don't use this everyday and certainly not more than once a day.) 1. wash with cetaphil anti-bacterial, rinse 2. lather hands again with cetaphil, add a pinch of baking soda, lather and GENTLY wash my face once more, rinse 3. pat dry. apply cetaphil moisturizing lotion

Pros:

Dries the skin and leaves a layer that will prevent oil from forming

Cons:

May be too harsh for some people.

Ok, so we all know that acne is a mix of oil, defunct skin cell turnover and bacteria. Baking soda can stop the oil at least while is is on your skin. My main prob is oily skin -especially around my period which is also when I break out the most-an hour after I wash my face it looks like it was basted with cooking oil. During the day I oil absorbing pads but at night I am helpless and the oil produces zits -until recently! Now I make a benzyl peroxide mix just add enough baking soda to create a white paste and put it on your face before you sleep. You will wake up with none or minimal oil on your face and this will help trmendously in getting rid of zits if oil is the main reason you get them. Good luck all!

Pros:

Works for a long while

Cons:

After a while my son could not even stand to have it on at all, he would say it felt like his skin was on fire..........

I just wanted to write an update on how the baking soda was working for my son. In November, I wrote a glowing review of how this was working wonderfully. All of a sudden, a few weeks ago, it stopped working, and my poor son broke out worse than ever. He also cannot stand to have the baking soda on his skin for even a full minute now-----He says it feels like his skin is on fire----- Ah well, it was nice while it lasted----
