Pros:

After one night saw scars and red marks fading.

Cons:

Stings a bit, leaves skin red afterwards. Has potential to wreck your face and make the ph of your face very basic.

I just go in the bath, mix with water to create a paste and leave on for around 10 mins then wash off. After i get out i just put some lotion on and go to bed. In the morning i was like wow! But im not going to do it too much cause i hear it can be really bad for you.

Pros:

Very effective!

Cons:

Turns face red for about 30 minutes- 1 hour. I use it as a daily morning/night scrub

Works! Definitely. At least give it a try. I have super pale, sensitive skin and have had acne for about 14 years now--absolutely NOTHING i've used has worked this well. it cleared all of my existing acne and is lightening and fading my old scars more and more each day. Use it in combination with an apple cider vinegar toner and you'll never have another breakout. seriously. i've never ever been this clear! Even through the lady times when the hormones are usually crazy producing acne, i had maybe ONE small pimple; hardly remember it. doit. use it. be happy.

Pros:

I started using baking soda as a face wash only three days ago. I mix about a quarter size of baking soda with water (in the shower) twice a day and my skin hasn't been this clear in at least a year!

Cons:

Nothing :)

My mom was about to make an appointment for me to try blue light therapy for my acne (which costs up to 2000 for total treatment) when I read this forum about baking soda. I was hesitent to try it, but found that my skin cleared almost completely! My skin is very sensitive and tends to flake and redden. Soap and other acne products irritated my skin where as baking soda did not. I am very happy!

Pros:

Leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean. Helps a lot to clear out black/white heads. Soothes your pimples into a flatter, smaller one if it doesn't clear it. Just let the bakingsoda/water mixture dry on your skin for 15 mins and wash away.

Cons:

It irritates a little while it's drying. If you stretch your face or back/chest/shoulders (wherever you have problems with break outs) while it's dry, it'll disintegrate just a bit and you'll get some powder falling making a bit of a mess.

It works very well. Slather it on, sit at the computer and browse for 15 mins, and then shower it off (or wash it off at the sink). Just don't make any faces or move your skin too much, it'll make some dry powder fall down and make a little mess. The 99cents store has this for 59cents. I use it on my shoulders, back, chest and face to keep them clear. My back has the most problems raising a few pimples throughout the week, and it's starting to take over my chest just a bit...this is keeping it at bay and making the breakouts so much more manageable and not as bad as they were a week ago. Can't wait to see how my skin is in a month!

Feels niice
Every now and the I add baking soda to my facial scrub with Dr. Bronners Tea tree oil soap and it makes me face feel extra clean and soft. I am a fan. I'm glad to find what I thought was an experiment is actually a tactic a few others have tried as well (FYI, if you add a pinch to your toothpaste/ brush.. It makes your teeth feel extra clean as well!)

Great Exfolient, reduces redness and removes built-up dirt + bacteria! Will use again!
So, I tried Baking Soda Mask for the first time today after reading some great reviews. I was impressed, but not overly impressed like most of the reviews state. While it did help to relieve my redness and irritation, it did not reduce the size of any of my whiteheads. However my skin is extremely soft afterwards. I also did not notice any burning sensation and I mixed mine with Lemon - I might just have tough skin - I do put it through a lot. Anyways, this is a great natural exfolient and I will be using it 1-2x/week because it removes a love of dead skin and reduces redness and inflammation, so it's great for that! It's definitely not a quick fix, but with other treatments, I bet it will help enhance the results.

Lemon juice is an acid and baking soda is a base so when you combine the two you actually neutralize them. You might as well put plain water on your face because all that you will get from mixing an acid and a base of similar but opposite strengths is create a salt and water. No point.

amazing results

Pros:

dries acne quick
any existing acne is no longer painful
inexpensive, great spot treatment

Cons:

has a burning sensation
will have redness after use.. so cant use and run right out the door
can imagine would cause dryness for some, but has not really for me

I have sensitive skin and every product I was using seemed to irritate and cause more inflammation and breakouts. Due to the nature of my job I wear beauty products daily. Got to the point my acne was impacting my confidence, everything.. One use of baking soda, deep ones started to dry up, open acne healed quickly and it pulled out too. I can use it daily and as a spot treatment, with just water as a thin paste.. Burning sensation and redness after use but this goes away quickly. Results got better with each day. I also used apple cider vinegar to bring up deep acne the exfoliated it away with b soda. When my skin gets dry, i use coconut oil as a facial and cleanse it off with b soda. got rid of all unnatural products on my face. even clean my make up brushes with it.. Love the results.

I haven't been using this long enough to give a proper review, but I just wanted to add a word of caution: if you're also using essential oils to treat your skin, be careful about applying them after using baking soda. My skin normally isn't very sensitive, but I experienced a burning sensation when I applied lavender and thyme after a baking soda mask (which was washed off with cleanser). The burning stopped when I washed the oils off, though, and the baking soda seems to be working well otherwise.
