Pros:

it controls oil, and makes skin feel really smooth, works quickly, definitely helps with acne.

Cons:

skin gets really red

the pros definitely outweigh the cons. i use it once a day and i know this has helped. plus it is really cheap so why not give it a shot.

Pros:

Used it just now washed off and looked in the mirror 5 minutes later, seems really good at making skin color more even.

Cons:

dries out and burns

Worth further investigation, too cheap to pass up.

Pros:

cheap. Makes skin super smooth and, most importantly, it actually works!

Cons:

can make skin irritated first time

I had acne as a teenager but it got really bad in my mid-20s. I used Proactive for two years. It worked in the beginning but then stopped working and made my skin really unhealthy looking. I tried Retin A which made me break out like crazy for two months, and now I have been on antibiotics for 2 months with little results. I have painful, cystic acne that leaves scars. I tried baking soda and water after reading the reviews here, and I can't tell you how happy I am. The first time I washed with it my face turned a bit red...but only for 20 min or so. I made a paste and put it on my spots overnight and have been doing this for about four days. My spots are much smaller, some scars seem lighter, and I haven't gotten one new zit!! I am sooooooo excited about this and hopefully it will keep working.

Pros:

I am tingling as we speak...

Cons:

Don't know completely. It burns a little on my existing acne but the rest of my face...it just feels like astringent. It definitely feels like something is happening (hopefully). :o)

I am 30. I have had annoying acne since I was in Jr. High School. Seriously, I just made it part of my life and worked 'around' it but to tell you the truth, acne has a way to weasel itself into your social life. Nevermind getting close to someone else's face... I was watching some random show and one of the girls mentioned using baking soda as a way to wash her face - and she truly had beautiful skin. I've been milling over the idea for the last couple of days - obviously reluctant because like a lot of you, I've spent many o'dollars on OTC products and the evil ProActiv - WHICH by the way - didn't do squat for me. And I was religious about it for a good 6 months. Needless to say, I DID get my money back for that let down... Anyway, I am sitting here marinating right now. It feels kinda neat and hey - if it worked for a lot of you, I guess I can give it a try too. I just made a paste (semi-thin) with the baking soda and warm water and made a mask. I'll let ya know what h

Pros:

Quick results. My skin has never looked or felt better, and only after 2 uses. Im guessing it will only get better. Very gentle.

Cons:

Its best to use only once a day morning or night. I wish I could do it twice a day!

Give it a try! Be sure to follow up with the proper Vinegar:water 1:8 mix. This will give your face the proper PH balance.

Pros:

Easy to get, and costs practically nothing

Cons:

Stings a tiny bit on the real nasty zits

I've just tried this out. I mixed baking soda with enough hydrogen peroxide to make a paste, then I just put it on the affected areas. I'll keep you posted on the effects, and if you wear it around the house, be prepared to have family members ask "what the hell is that white stuff all over your face" :)

Pros:

helps reduce acne a bit, very cheap

Cons:

doesn't do that much for acne, have to keep it on for 30 to 40 minutes

I recommend using this if you have light acne. For Moderate or severe, it won't do that much.it's worth a try...

Pros:

Made skin extremely smooth. Reduced inperfections on nose to almost none. Added a slight glow to face.

Cons:

Skin developed a tolerance. When I ran out, after a week of not using it, my skin returened to how it usually felt before the baking soda.

I happened to have baking soda that I never used. I heard of it as an exfoliator. My face didn't have acne, but it did have little annoying bumps. I mixed two pinches in with a pump of face wash and scrubbed. I did this for the next two days, and my skin felt great.

Pros:

Smooth skin, dries pimples in a good way, cheap

Cons:

Tastes foul when you get it in your mouth

I usually just mix it with a bit of water and make a paste then use it as an exfoliator of sometimes as a spot treatment - which is messy.
