Pros:

reduces redness; feels nice; GREAT price; easy to make and store

Cons:

messy!! Doesn't really reduce pimples, per se, but it reduces redness and that's a big plus

I am 30 and all of a sudden, about 3 months ago, I started getting bad acne. Nothing changed in my life except I started losing wieght (down 10 pounds now - woo-hoo!) I found the aspirin mask on a holistic website and thought - "hey, for the price, what can it hurt?" I use mineral water, a splash of lemon juice - fresh squeezed - and a dash of honey. Mix it together with a 200 ct. bottle of aspirin and it lasts me about 2 weeks. I put some on my face and let it dry and use warm water to remove it after about 15 mins. The downside is while it's drying it tends to flake off. Now there's white aspirin beads on my rug. I also use it as a face scrub in the shower. It's gentle, but effective. I've completly switched from my store-bought face scrub, something I couldn't live without a month ago, to this home-made face scrub.

Pros:

Works like a miracle. Drys up acne, reduces redness, and tightens pores.

Cons:

sometimes make me sneeze.

Whenever I get a pimple or start to brake out a crush a bunch of aspirin in my mortar and pestle and mix a little warm water to make a mask. Slop it on until it dries, and scrub it off. It really is amazing. It's the cheapest and best solution I have found. The funny thing is, people pay big bucks for cream, tonic, scrubs, Rx, and dont realize that an aspirin mask works just as good if not, and usually, better. I doubt most people would beleive it if you told them. Another great product (though somewhat pricey) is lavender essential oil. I apply it directly to a spot and it drys them up and heals my skin, and I think it tightens my pores as well. Don't be fooled by the fact that its oil, it doesn't feel greasy and though its expensive you need only a drop per spot, so it goes a long way. In my opinion its much better than tea tree oil which tends to feel oily, at least on me.

Pros:

Best mask/scrub ever. Doesn't irritate if you moisturize afterwards (which you should always be doing!) Plus plain aspirin are so cheap!

Cons:

Kind of messy but thats no problem.

First I wash my face with Purpose liquid face wash (its the same thing as the bar of soap but a tad bit more expensive but I buy it because its a lot easier than the bar). I mix aspirin with lemon juice (helps fade scars) and aloe vera gel (so it stays on) and scrub it in for about 30 seconds. Then generally I leave it on for about half an hour and just splash my face with water to wash it off. Then I moisturize with Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30. I recommend this moisturizer to any skin type, it won't make you break out and you can't even feel it. Plus it has SPF which people should be using everyday unless they want a leather face when they are 40. Most importantly you need to give it time, nothing with help overnight so don't give up if you don't wake up with a flawless face. It took about 4 weeks to get my skin where its at today (which is perfectly clear) and with the help of lemon juice my scars are almost completely gone.

Pros:

It gives my skin a certain glow, particularly when used with raw honey.

Cons:

It's somewhat messy.

I find it does an excellent job of preventing a new pimple from getting larger and of clearing up blackheads. But, as others have said, it's definitely not a miracle cure. It helps. Try it.

Pros:

reduces redness

Cons:

can't wear it all day - lol

Hurrah for aspirin! ok so I accidently went a bit mad the other day and layered a sopt with globs of bp followed by salycylic acid. Result = vey bad. the spot, surrounding skin went all dark red. could not even cover it with makeup and something was still there lurking under the skin. then i read on dan's site that you should never mix the two products together (doh). step in my aspirin hero.... I washed off the pink coating mixed a drop of water in an ickle bowl and dabbed it on. it dried pretty fast and I just left it on all night. next morning - reddness had gone way down - hurrah. am continuing to use it and hopefully the spot will just "fall off". miracles can happen (fingers crossed)

Pros:

Gives you cleaner, clearer, and softer skin within less than a day.

Cons:

NONE AT ALL!

Three days ago my entire chin broke out like it had never done before. Yesterday I read about the aspirin mask and was willing to try it. So I crushed up 5 pills and mixed them in only a little drop of water and made the perfect paste. I wore it for 45 minutes while doing homework and then washed it off in the shower and went to bed. When I woke up this morning all the bumps were reduced greatly and I wasn't embarrased about going to school at all. When I got just a couple hours ago I put on another mask and I can bet they'll be gone by tomarrow. But tomarrow I'm planning on adding sour cream and honey like other ppl have done. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR EVERYONE!

Pros:

Works wonders on your skin and it's very cheap and effective

Cons:

None

It's the best thing I've used so far for my skin. I suffer from acne and this cleared it up in about a week. It makes my skin not look so oily and I don't usually have redness afterwards. This is better than anything a doctor can prescribe for you!
