Pros:

This product is great for treating acne and evening out skin tone and texture. And it's affordable! It's definitely my secret weapon against acne!!!

Cons:

Only available online...but it's really no big deal to me. It arrives very fast anyway.

You must try this! I was using Mama Lotion for six months and I saw no big results, which was very disappointing because of all the positive reviews. So I decided to give this a try. And I'm glad I did! Glycolic acid is so much more effective. Yes, it may sting at first, but just be patient and eventually your skin will get used to it. And make sure to wear a sunscreen during the day. I use SPF 30. My cheeks get a little red, but makeup covers it up.

Pros:

If you are reading this as a 30 something adult acne sufferer, buy this now! None of the soreness of bp, just fantastic skin!

Cons:

Doesn't completely blitz acne, but leaves very few blemishes that can be easily treated.

If you are 30 something then I simply cannot recommend this enough. I tried the bp based regimen and had an awful time with it, burning, itching, redness and terrible skin tone that never improved. However I also bought the aha at the same time and this was the best purchase I think I've ever made for my skin. I still get the very occasional blemish, but it's easily treated with BeneFit's boo boo zap. I know Dan's quest is more completely clear skin and the bp does do it, no spots but for me terrible skin in a completely different way (very similar to when I tried clinique's 3 step, what a disaster!) But aha delivers fabulous feeling skin and prevents alsmost all breakouts. I recommend dermalogica products to complement this, Dan's cleanser and moisturiser are actually OK but I prefer the texture and results from Dermalogica. However, I would not hesitate to recommend his aha lotion. Superb!

Pros:

It didn't make my face clearer, but it didn't make it worse either.

Cons:

I can't believe how many rave reviews there are about this product. For me, all it did was make my skin so incredibly itchy. My face would seriously feel like it was burning, it stung so much & my skin is not even that sensitive!!

I gave this a product a fair 2-month run. First, I tried to use it as a lotion but after it stung so much, I decided to only use it as a spot treatment - it still stung like crazy! I read all the FAQs about AHA & I even emailed Dan/Brandy for advice. Brandy said to apply less - but if I applied any less there would be nothing on my face! I also tried it without applying bp beforehand but I still got the same results: itchy/stinging skin. I tried the product on my back & it wasn't irritating at all, so I guess it was only my face that didn't have a good reaction to the AHA. Bottom line, there are less painful ways to get 100% clear skin!! For people who don't have a good experience with the AHA, I would definitely recommend Paula's Choice 2% BHA instead, along with bp of course. It's changed my skin completely! I really wanted this product to work & I'm dissapointed that it didn't. I still love all of Dan's other products, though. :)

Pros:

Really smooths skin and lightens red marks. Love the burning sensation ;) Works best at night, after BP (allowed to thoroughly dry) and I then apply Aloe Vera Gel over the top. In the morning, my skin feels so soft and positively glows.

Cons:

Balling up .... at first I thought it was skin coming off but then I realised it was the product. Doesn't really bother me as I don't use it in the morning.

Great addition to the regime and it is also a great wrinkle preventer.

Pros:

Extremely effective, non irritating, mattifying, inexpensive

Cons:

None!

A friend kindly gave me a sample of this lotion, and I'm so glad she did. I probably wouldn't have bought this if she hadn't done so because I haven't had much luck with AHA creams or lotions in the past. I found them either too irritating or they contained comedogenic ingredients. This stuff is golden! I can't believe how much better my skin looks after such a short time - smoother, brighter, clearer, and it's doing a bang up job of helping to make wrinkles and lines much less obvious. Even though my skin is very sensitive I have experienced no irritation of any kind - just great results. Because this product is so inexpensive I can use it on my face, neck, chest and hands. Don't tell Dan, but I would pay twice as much for this product and would still feel it was a bargain.

Pros:

This product is great. The delivery time was so fast. I expected it to be a week for it to come in but in 2 days it arrived. The packaging is convenient, the fragrance is mild, the consistency of it blends well and it works wonders!

Cons:

None!

I bought this product because everytime I used a product to exfoliate my skin it made me break out. I currently use Benzaclin for adult acne that I have been suffering with for 14 years and my dermatologist will soon be putting me on accutance. Not for the severity of my acne but for the stubbornness of it. AHA has reduced my pores, it has evened out my skin tone and made my face so soft. I am an African American woman and normally my skin tone is about 3 different shades but this evened it out so nicely. It also works as a great spot treatment for acne. I love this product. I use it twice a day. In the morning I wash with DOVE soap, apply benzaclin, apply the AHA, then apply sunscreen. At night I do the same minus the sunscreen.

Pros:

Clears up my red marks, and also kills any new forming acne.

Cons:

The burn, but it is a good burn!

It will probably take a month for you to see results. I have been using it for 3 months and I just found out the more the merrier!
November 10, 2008

Pros:

Fades red marks, prevents new pimples from forming

Cons:

smells terrible, tastes terrible, balls up

Be patient---It works. I saw no results the 1st month, but decided to stick with it and it was worth it. I saw amazinf results the 2nd month. Red spots I thought were scars began to fade and breakouts stopped. There is an issue with balling up, but I use it seperate from the BP. I don't reccomend using it at the same time. Apply the AHA, wait 5 minutes, and then apply some moisturizer, and it won't ball up. It only balls up when you put the AHA on top of a product---not undernearth. It does smell and taste awful, but the results make up for those.
November 10, 2008

Pros:

Pleasant scent, evens skin tone out nicely.

Cons:

Doesnt seem to fight acne and has a terrible balling up effect rendering it almost unusable during the day.

The AHA has nearly no effect on acne but does give the skin a certain glow after applied. The balling up effect it suffers from is horrendous and makes me regret my purchase entirely. Its a useless addition to the Regimen.

Pros:

Incredible smoothing and clearing effects, inexpensive for quality/volume

Cons:

Balls up if you apply too much and too soon after BP, don't love the smell, but it doesn't linger, initial use causes a little purging

I've been using the regimen for over 5 years now and was excited to try this product. I've been using it for over two months and love it -- my facialist and friends all wonder what I'm doing differently, and I'm stoked to tell them about this product. I use it at night, after cleansing and BP, in lieu of or mixed with nighttime moisturizer. I've found the best way to minimize balling is to really allow the BP to sink in as much as you can before application. My skin is smoother and clearer than it's been in a long time, and my old acne marks have faded considerably. I'm pretty fair and I do think it makes me more sun sensitive (given the number of freckles I've acquired recently), so please remember to wear sunscreen and not overdo your exposure while actively using this product. Also, if you find your skin purging after your first few uses, I'd encourage you to stick with it for a little bit -- my skin did the same thing and I still love this stuff.
