Pros:

Clears acne a lot
Cleanses face
Reduces acne scars
Does NOT overdry or irritate skin

Cons:

Doesn't clear acne completely
Expensive

ProActiv works the best out of everything that I've tried. It reduces my acne by about 60%. And it leaves my skin soft and fresh, not dry and red. It also makes my skin look smoother, and my acne scars to fade. It doesn't clear everything, but it clears more than anything else I've tried. Only possible bad thing is the price, $50 for the whole set. But if you want to save money, just buy the cleanser, which is the first step in the 3-step thing. It's all that you really need. The other stuff helps, but it's not really necessary for that much money.

Pros:

Made my skin feel soft
Clean feeling

Cons:

Didn't really help my acne
Didn't prevent new breakouts

I have a combination of dry and oily skin, and my acne is pretty moderate. I have pimples around my chin and forehead and when I tried this product it didn't do really anything except give my skin a clean feeling.

Cons:

Making my skin flaky, sore, red.
Burns after applying.
Very drying.

About 4 years ago I used to have very bad acne on my forehead, but my mum said I was too young to try it, (9) so I would steal it from my brother, cheeky I know, but it worked so good! In only a couple of days, but that was the old proactiv. After my brother cancelled it because his breakouts were gone, mine came back but they were very light. 4 years later they have gotten so bad. So now I'm 13 my mum got the "new and improved" proactiv. I've only been using it for exactly a week but my skin is flaky, irritated, dry, flaky, disgusting. Its making my acne worse and burning my face. I don't know what they did to proactiv, but its just sh*t now. I will continue to use this for a couple more weeks to see if I do get some results. Lets hope.

Pros:

-Smells good
-Appears to work for celebrities

Cons:

-Hurt my face
-Dried it out
-Acne became MUCH worse, even after over 3 months of use!

Before going to college, my sister and I decided to both try out Proactiv to clear up mild acne (not red or painful, and mostly along the hairline and forehead). I figured, "What can I lose? If it doesn't work, I'm only out $40." After seeing advertisement after advertisement, I was eager to try out this treatment. I used it faithfully, twice a day every day, but almost from the outset I started to break out. My skin was irritated and red, and I began to break out in places I had never had acne before (all over my cheeks and jawline). The more acne I got, the harder I scrubbed with Proactiv. 3 months later, my face looked terrible. I stopped using Proactive and was so disappointed. I hoped that discontinuing use would help my skin return to its previous state of light acne, but alas, 2 years later my skin is still broken out. I have not been able to clear up the acne that Proactiv unleashed and have been through a continuous cycle of breakout after breakout. I truly wish I had never bothered with Proactiv at all. The scrubbing beads are too harsh! I started Acne.org's The Regimen a few days ago and my skin is looking and feeling the best it has in 2+ years. My advice about Proactiv: If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Read Dan's comments about Proactiv--I agree completely!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Expensive,Proactiv charged me 3 times for 1 shipment even though I had an email from them confirming my membership cancellation. It dries out your skin! After I would wash my face, it would be very hot and red. My skin got even redder insted of evening out the tones.

Dont buy it!!!!!

Pros:

It reduced the look of my acne, kind of. my pimples were smaller after a couple of days

Cons:

At first it made my skin dry and flaky. The rapairing lotion made my skin look shiny and oily

It works relatively good for the first couple days, though it burns a little and made my skin flaky. My acne didn't go away completely at any point on the product.

Pros:

dried skin out

Cons:

did not improve my skin

I have a mild oily t-zone and that is where I was breaking out. ProActive did not help my skin if anything it made it break out worse. I tried the product for about 50 days and then I took it back. The customer service was actually helpful and I should be receiving my check back in the mail soon.

Pros:

Cleared up SOME acne

Cons:

Dried out skin
Made skin peel
Burned
Still have acne!

When I bought proactive I heard so much about it that i was sure it was going to work. When I got it in the mail I was so excited to start using it. In the first few days i noticed that some of my acne was starting to disapper. Within about a week my skin started burning and peeling and my acne was starting to come back. After about two or three months I stopped using it and now i'm using epiduo gel which I LOVE! I would reccommend this to other people only because I have heard about so many people using it with wonderful results and maybe it was just my skin type that it didn't work for.
