Pros:

Gives you an illusion of less ance problems.

Cons:

Burns, turns my face red,
not only it does not work after a period of time, acne problem comes back twice or three times bad as before using proactiv.

My acne problem is worst after using proactiv. Also, proactiv have bad customer service, they keep sending stuff I never ordered. After I refuse to pay, they transfer me to collection agency.

Pros:

Got rid of acne

Cons:

Dried my skin out so bad I had to go get a facial to try and remove built up dried skin. Then the company ships you more solution and charges your account before you get a chance to cancel.

Do not use. Spent more money trying to get my skin back to normal, and had to pay for shipping on product I returned

It brought out everything under the skin then it work for lets say a month then gave up. But then again im 13 and my skin learns ways to turn everything againt you. The lotion made my skin very oily and the mask smells yucky I have used it on and off for 3 years and always the same results.

Cons:

The product is harsh on skin and the customer service is the worst.

I will never use Proactiv Solution again. My first problem was that the product was much too harsh for my skin, leaving it sore and burning. When I called to cancel it, the phone attendant told me that I was signed into receiving shipments for the next year, But she could change it to the sensitive skin version. That never happened, even after numerous calls. The last time I called, I asked the lady if my year was up and if I could cancel. She had told me I could have canceled at any time and I was not signed into any time frame with them. Once I canceled my account, Proactiv Representative phoned my home 3 times a day, everyday, until I finally became unhinged on the representative and asked to speak to a manager... Poor product and poor service. Nothing left me wanting to run back.

Pros:

The thought that it might work at first.

Cons:

Left my skin irritated, did not dry out pimples, still got new breakouts.

I was frustrated because the 'new gentle formula' was not gentle. The cleanser was too rough for my skin and actually felt like it was scratching my skin. I bought a 2 month supply of the starter kit which included the cleanser, toner, lotion, mask, oil control, and sunscreen. I used them as directed..Proactiv just did not work for me!

Pros:

Best product I've ever used to clear my acne and keep my skin clear.

Cons:

I need to use it consistantly. I can't miss a day or any of the steps or a breakout will happen.

I just wanted to tell Lodee31 from St. Louis that you can still buy the old version of Proactiv. I buy mine off of a home shopping channel, and the doctors said that if the old version is working for you, stay with it and don't buy their new version. Personally, I'll keep buying the old version forever!

Pros:

Cons:

Discolors pillowsheets, shirts
Can be expensive
Loses effectiveness after time
Does not control oil very well

I have been using Proactiv Extra Strength for five years now. Before I started it my face was more severe than it was moderate. It took awhile to work. I started it in January of 2005 and finally started seeing results in June of the same year. For the past five years Ive had light to moderate acne. Id go through good spells and bad spells. During bad spells I would have 5 or 6 big pimples a month. During good spells my skin would look (almost) flawless. During this time I also dealt with the Cons of Proactiv. I would permenately stain pillowcases and my PJ tops. Towels were also stained. While I have always been lucky enough to afford it, $25 a month for five years is A LOT of money. So if you dont have the extra cash that can be a bummer too. Also if you skip a washing, youre going to pay for it for the next week. I have very oily skin and I find that by early afternoon my face is a greaseball. ALL IN ALL my face is 10x better than it was before. Am I completely acne free? NO. But when you have hormonal acne like I do, this is as close as youre gonna get to perfection.

Pros:

-Micro beads in cleanser smooth/soften skin
-Sulfur mask works amazing on cysts)
-Minimized the appearance of my pores

Cons:

-None YET

I'm 16 years old,I have been suffering from acne since I was 8/9 years old(I developed early). My acne type is blackheads, cysts and occasional whiteheads.I've tried almost every acne products you can think of.Clean & Clear,Clearasil,Neutrogena,Oxy,AcneFree etc,and while yes they are good brands, they just did not work for me.I told myself,I'm not falling for the ProActiv commercials cause I had a sister who used it and it made her skin worse. But we got a $5.99 deal in the mail and my mom ordered it.I have been using it for only two days.I do naturally have oily skin so that may be an advantage to using this product.Of course it does take 6-8 weeks for any skincare product to work,I just felt it was necessary to do this. The cleanser works well, the little micro beads exfoliate skin well,it's great for if you have blackheads or large pores. The toner is just there, but it does add that extra "umph" to the skincare routine and picks up extra dirt/oil.The Treatment is good.Simple.The Sulfur mask works wonders.Amazing.The green tea mask is good for dry skin/areas. At this point I can not say whether or not I would recommend it,but I will be sure to update.

Pros:

none

Cons:

this is based on the original proactiv system, not their new "gentler" version. I have tried Proavtiv twice. The first time it was so harsh on my skin and made my face so red. My skin was burning and peeling, no moisturizer would help heal it fast enough! The second time I tried it a few years later I started it very very slowly to let my skin get used to it. My face was not as dry but after months of using it my acne has not changed, if anything it was worse.

Maybe the new proactiv formula is better, but I wouldn't ever go back to it. Not worth it.
