Pros:

worked somewhat for the first month

Cons:

After the first month it completely stopped working, dried out my skin, stains any cloth that comes in contact with it, and its expensive...

This may work better for less severe acne but it comes nowhere near living up to what it claims it can do.

Pros:

my daughters face cleared up after about 2 months of using proactive and has continued to be clear.

Cons:

acne gets very bad when you do not use proactive, it bleach's the towels, it's expensive, you cannot buy it in a store in Canada; you have to order it on line or by phone, if you use it too much your face tends to dry out alot.

I believe that all in all proactive is worth using, but still wondering if it is really safe to use daily (some of ingredients are believed to cause cancer).

Pros:

the pros are that this product starts off smoothing out your skin at & makes it feel clean & refreshed

Cons:

the cons are that if you are at all sensitive to benzoyl peroxide you will break out more & those little pimples that were a nusance will turn into swollen, red, hard bumps.

bottom line is that im sure this works for a lot of people & mostly males because they have tougher skin! but simpler products work just as well & this is not a quick fix.

Pros:

Didn't give me any side effects. Smells alright.

Cons:

Expensive.

I used Proactiv everyday for over a year and it had no effect. It might work for some, but definitely not me.

Pros:

Easy to follow directions

Cons:

Didn't work

I was very excited to use proactive... I was sadly disappointed when it didn't work AND made my skin worse! Maybe it works for some people.. didn't work at all for me.

Pros:

Smooths out your skin and leaves it feeling soft and clean. Does reduce scarring somewhat.

Cons:

Eventually over time stops working. Seems to make your skin look greasy.

I started using proactive in 1998, so 11 years ago, and in the beginning it worked fantastic! My mom even noticed how well it was working and was a big fan and told me to continue using it, which I agreed. I occasionally still had pimples though, but in the spots where my skin was the most oily. Well it has pretty much stopped working and I am having the most horrible breakout I've ever had! I have a few times stopped using it and noticed and my face would clear up and be beautiful, but after awhile of not using it my face would also become less smooth, then I would start breaking out again which would get me to start using it again. Vicious cycle. Now I am back to using it once a day and it is not clearing up my face at all. The only thing it's doing that's good is making my face smoother... where my zits are not! Lol. Weird. So as a true proactiv vetern I suggest finding a good natural cure acne e-book and following that for clear skin. Get to the root of the problem.

Pros:

Not as harsh as some other benzoyl peroxide medications, sulfur mask works really well, and overall improved my skin greatly

For only about $27/mo (get the smaller kit, it'll last a month if used properly), this is definitely worth a try. Go to the mall kiosks- much more convenient. I started getting really bad breakouts after going off birth control pills (big cystic acne that caused scarring as well as several whiteheads, blackheads... you name it). I tried a few different prescription medications (retina micro, duac, clindamycin topical gel) as well as a few different over the counter meds (w/benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid), but nothing else worked. I was ready to go back on the pill just to stop the acne if this didn't work!

Pros:

the only thing good about this product is the packaging!

Cons:

their customer service is poor and money hungry (they must work on commission), these 2 so called dermatologist from stanford are interested in collecting their money on expensive products that "break out the skin before it starts getting better!

Yeah, break out people skin so that they can buy a bleaching product, dry out people skin so that they can buy a tea tree moisturizer they design these products so that you can be forever dependent on their other products that does nothing but irritate and scar the skin. Neutrogena products have been working a lot better and more sensitive on the skin and way lot cheaper than this EXPENSIVE, no-good product you pay to damage your skin and your face even more.

Pros:

None

Cons:

EXTREMELY drying, makes acne worse, made my skin burn, bleaches towels, clothes, sheets. SO not worth the money

Dries skin out, causes more breakouts, pricey
