Pros:

toner smells good...

sulfer mask seems to work a little

Cons:

everything else!!

it dried out my skin really bad... especially around the "T-zone" and under my eyes.. felt like i had alligator skin or something

i used it for about a year... my skin got better at first, but towards the end it just made it worse for some reason! and the kit was leaving my face REALLY oily and felt like the stuff didnt even sink into my face... dont waste your money, those damn infomercials trick you, did u notice that jessica simpsons already HAD nice skin?? so why the hell would she need proactive?!

Pros:

It makes my skin feel clean and clears up my acne

Cons:

It takes a few weeks and some parts of my face get dry and flakey. A little pricey.

I use the cleanser, toner, and repairng lotion as directed. Works like a charm but it takes a good 3 weeks to get rid of my existing problem areas and clear any on-comers. I use a dermalogic moisturizer when some area get dry and flakey. I thought about trying the Proactiv brand but haven't yet. I hate paying almost $50 per month but my skin breaks out again if I do not use it. Bottom line = I've been happy and not ashamed of my face.

Pros:

Cleared up my skin for a while, fairly affordable

Cons:

Dried skin like crazy, stopped working after a few months

I used Proactiv for almost a year. At first, my skin cleared up nicely -- I still had pimples, but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been. But after about 3 months, I started breaking out really badly on my cheeks (and I've never had acne there before!) & it didn't let up until I stopped using Proactic products. Additionally, my skin was horribly irritated, flakey, and dried out the entire time I used it. The Proactiv moisturizer is totally useless & the only relief I could get was with, like, 5 applications each morning of Oil of Olay for sensitive skin. Bottom line: this works for some people, but not for everyone, as Proactiv would like you to believe. Don't invest in a lot of product until you're sure it's right for you.

Pros:

It works for some...

Cons:

But when it doesn't work, it damages the skin causing dryness, pealing, cystic acne, hives, skin lesions, which may result in permanent scarring and discoloration and of course, short term anguish and depression.

The bottom line is that it may or may not work for you, but the risks are scary for those who it may not work for because not only may it not work but it will also damage the face. In my case, the products caused everything described in the cons section includinng severe cystic acne and skin lesions. Worst of all, when reporting my injuries, the reps continued to advise me to use their products as results vary by individual and that the breakout is normal and part of the process. I had to see a professional dermatologist who injected (quite painful) each of my pimples and prescribed me Accutane. Although the acne that ProActiv caused is all gone, I have been left with permanent scarring and discoloration. Pros:

works really well at clearing up acne if used consistently and as it should be used. The trick is to use it sparingly because too much dries the skin out.

Cons:

Once i stopped using it my face broke out worse than it ever did before i actually first started using the product.
It is also expensive.

If you choose to use Proactiv it has to be a lifelong committment because the acne just comes back worse once you stop using it.

Pros:

It really did clear my skin up . . . people kept saying how good my skin looked

Cons:

It takes a very long time for my old blemishes to go away. I think it prevents my face from healing as well as it should. It does stain clothes too. the refining mask is amazing . . . but it smells really bad.

It does help a lot . . . but it's expensive. Try to find something better for your face.

Pros:

None

Cons:

So long to put on.

After proactiv I just did nothing. I just washed my face with cold water before I went to bed. I didn't put anything on my face and it has cleared up great. I eat all the foods I want to eat. Didn't look in the mirror either. Didn't drink that much water. Proactiv just makes your skin irritated. Just accept your face and it will clear up. Just try it for two week and it will work.

Pros:

Smelled okay.

Cons:

Stained a bunch of my bathroom towels, pillowcases, and pajamas. Was not convenient to put on during the day because it would cause my skin to look oily or greasy. Too many steps to keep up with on a daily basis, the routine just got old fast.

For some people I guess this product works miracles, but for me, it peaked the first few days then completely flatlined and stopped providing any cure after that. I don't even have severe acne, just a mild case of teenage blemishes! I expected much more because of all its hype but it wasn't worth the time or the money.

Pros:

The clear part of my skin is smooth. It has evened out my tone.

Cons:

IT STOPPED WORKING! Now I am worse than when I started. My face is dry and it feels tight. I have wrinkles too.

it has stopped working and my acne is worse than ever! I have huge, painful breakouts that leave huge scars in my face. I have used this product religiously and it recently is not working for me anymore.
