Pros:

It works! It is affordable! It's convenient!

Cons:

None.

I have used over the counter medications, including Accutane, and cheap drugstore products. Basically the over the counter medications and Proactiv have all worked to some degree. I have suffered from burning, dry, cracked, sore skin, but that is because my skin was sensitive and I didn't stop temporarily using the products when they were starting to irritate my skin. Sometimes it takes awhile (4-12 months! Really!), you need to be patient and follow through! If you notice your skin is starting to hurt or continuing to hurt, you need to temporarily stop and use you oil-free moisturizer. And keep ALL acne products away from your eyes and mouth!!! You have to get to know your own skin, and become your own skin doctor to some degree. This product works, especially when used with the refining mask at first!

Pros:

This works great! Not only does it completely clear up your acne but it leaves your skin smooth, soft, and with a glow.

Cons:

During the first month of use it broke out my skin worse than ever! It was the worse breakout I had ever had however after 6 to 8 weeks it completely cleared up and I had no more acne. Plus my skin was super smooth and it glowed.

This is a wonderful system but you have to keep working at it. It may break out your skin at first plus your skin texture might be a little odd at first. However keep using it and adjust as you to to make it work for you. I think it takes over a month for the effects to really start but each person is different. Also, you need to keep using it even once your are acne free. I used it for over a year, stopped and now I am back since my acne returned worse than ever after two years and I'm well into my 20s.

Pros:

It seemed to give my skin a glow - but that might just be my imagination. Moisturiser with sunscreen has a great texture. I'm still using that now.

Cons:

Made my skin a lot worse than how it started off. Gave me huge painful pimples that scarred no matter whether I picked at them or not.

I used to have isolated break outs - this seemed to have accumulated all the break outs I would possibly have over a whole year and dumped it all on my skin in a month. The frustrating thing is that I used it exactly according to instrutions and never skipped a step. Since the first day I started using it, I started to break out in huge painful pus-filled pimples - one at a time initially and the final straw came when I had at least 8 of these pimples simultaneously. The day after I stopped using Proactiv and resumed my regular AHA facewash, these pimples started to heal up and it has been about a week now and my face is pimple-free. Except of course, I now have heaps of ugly scarring. Sigh. I was really hopeful and Proactiv really let me down.

Pros:

Worked great on my skin. I noticed immediate results within 1 week. My moderate acne that plauged me for years was entirely gone within a month and has not re-occurred for years.

Cons:

Over-application results in extreme drying of skin.

Give it a try...

Pros:

Nothing. It did have some effect the 1st week i used it.

Cons:

Made my Acne even more WORSE

NOT RECOMMENDED. The ads will force you to buy it and might show some difference in the 1st week. But if you stop even for a day u can see the difference. Even after two months of patient usage, i can only see it getting worse for me.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Doesn't Work

I tried ProActive for a few months on and off for probably about 3 years. It did nothing. Maybe for a week my acne would slow, but it would come right back the next week. It sucks that I wasted so much money on such a usesless product.

Pros:

Smells nice and it isn't too harsh on the skin. The exfoliating cleanser felt nice. The green tea moisturizer smells REALLY good and feels nice.

Cons:

Didn't work for me.

My cystic acne stayed the same. Didn't get worse, didn't get better. I'm on doxycycline and benzaclin now and it has worked wonders. I would really recommend that for people having trouble. GO TO A DOCTOR. They can assess your skin and make the best choice for your situation. 'One size fits all' does not apply to skin care!
