Pros:

celebrities say they use it

Cons:

they get paid 2 say it!!

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!! when you watch the infomercials you are watching a bizzarly one sided piont of view. Proactive contain irritating ingredients that make your skin sore, irritated and caue even worse acne. Skin does best with less - use a gentle cleanser with no fragrance (eg Cetaphil oily skin cleanser) - which is ph balanced, doesnt block pores, doesnt sting eyes, can be used on senstive skin, can be used to take off makeup even eye makeup and you dont even have to use water with it if you are allergic to water [under $15]. The use a topical disinfectant such as 3% hydrogen peroxide [under $6]. Then use an exfoliant such as salicytic acid or if that is too irritating use 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Then use Cetephil moisturizer [under $10] on dry areas such as around the eyes or cheeks. IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN YOU DO NOT NEED A MOISTUIZER!! instead use milk of magnesia to soak up oil - you can wear it during the day or under your makeup to soak up oil. always wear sunscreen.

Pros:

Initially this system works well. Results in two weeks just like the advertisements, etc...

Cons:

The durability of the product is finite. Very harsh on normal skin.

I have adult acne. (never had acne as a teenager). I started with the original strength product for about 3 mos. and was seeing very little improvement. I called to cancel my "membership" and they asked me to try the extra strength system. I used the extra strength system consistently for 6 mos. after which the product seemed to lose it's effect. I have since stopped using the system completely and now my skin is a mess.

Pros:

The product really works if used everyday as with any other product.

Cons:

Not OTC

PROACTIV is not for everyone with acne. That is why they give you a 30 day trial. The product contains benzoyl peroxide which certain people just cannot use. It is just the same as going back and forth to the dermatologist until they can get something that works for you as some dermatologist can give you something the first time. It is just a give or take. You win some and you loose some.

Pros:

At first, my skin felt really soft and looked clearer the first two days I used the product.

Cons:

I have used the product for two mths now and this week my skin looks horrible. I have developed large painful cyst-like bumps on my jawline.

Save your money. Go to the dermotologist and leave proactiv to Vanessa Williams and Jessica Simpson.

Pros:

Smells good, cleanser removes dead skin cells, repairing lotion is so smooth and soothing. Repairing mask gets rid of imflammed pimples overnight.

Cons:

Expensive. Made my skin break out SO much more and hasn't improved at all.

It only works on some skin. I have several friends that sware by it and it has worked so well for them. However for me, it has not. I have dark acne scars from where the pimples were that I got when Proactiv was 'purging' my skin. I still use the cleanser now but i'm going back on my retin-a micro. It's a trial and error product so I would only try it as a last resort.

Pros:

It has always gotten pretty rave reviews and if you have a certain skin type it works.

Cons:

An esthetician (sorry if i spelled that wrong) once told me that it basically peels of your layer of skin, removing the acne. Which seems kind of grusome to me. She also told me that it really only works if you have a certain type of acne/skin.

If you're lucky, it'll work. But for me, and a lot of other people, it hasn't.
