Pros:

Works fairly well

Cons:

Seems like if you miss a day acne gets worse very quickly. Ordered one set of products online and was very careful to make sure I wasn't signing up for a automatic buying membership, but somehow I ended up getting products in the mail, charged to my credit card.

Won't buy again, I can't stand deceptive selling practices.

Pros:

None come to mind.

Cons:

It made my skin worse than it ever was before I started using Proactiv. I would wake up in the morning with giant pimples under the skin that were painful to the touch - something I never experienced before this product. It also left me with large dry patches of skin on my face. The mositurizer did not help at all and it left my skin feeling very greasy. Plus, the refining mask did nothing for me, other than dry out my skin further.

I would recommend finding something much gentler than Proactiv. Drying out your skin will not solve your acne. Definitely not worth the money and DOES NOT provide the "instant" results that it claims on the commercials. Please don't waste your time.

Pros:

Toner has a nice smell and feels great! Moisturizer feels refreshing and leaves skin feeling light and moisturized.

Cons:

It left my skin red, sore, inflamed, dry, flaking, sensitive. Not only did it not clear up my acne but it left it in pain and worse, and unable to cover up or use anything on it for it was unbearable. It took months for my skin to get over it! It left my acne severe. I went to two dermatologists who said I was so stupid for trying it and that it left me worse for wear.

I used it exactly to the instructions. I eventually tried just using the benzoyl sporadically, by the end the toner kill

If you have had trouble with topical and/or mild benzoyl in the past, it won't magically overcome this problem. Proactiv will leave your acne worse and your skin unimaginable. Be careful and get out at the first sign of distress. There's a reason why dermatologists don't recommend it. They eventually put me on Diane after my skin calmed down an I've been flawless ever since!

Pros:

It really works!! It clears skin

Cons:

Makes dry and a little burning skin, ao you have to use a hydratin cream

I have been usin proactiv extra strength formula for about 3 months and all i can say is that it does work.. Now i just have like 2 3 live pimples that will go easily. So if you are using it use it constantly, dont give up, i had to wait about 2 months for watching a great improvement i think people who says it does not work is because they dont use it like it says and because they dont wait the enough time. (according to the AAD you have to wait about 4 months for being cleared with topicals treatments) so dont stop using it

Pros:

Worked for about 1.5 years
could see difference in 1 week worth of use
it was consistent

Cons:

drying
peeling
stopped working after 1.5 years
inflamed white heads on chin and cheeks

At age 17, I was still on antibiotics for back acne (figured sports was the cause). I never broke out on my face but had little bumps on my forehead and upper cheeks. The dermatologist gave me a topical prescription (can't remember, long time ago) and told me to clean my face with a light cleanser such as cetaphil. The cetaphil cleanser barely removed any make-up and left a residue on skin. It wasn't really helping the bumps. I saw the proactiv commercial and decided to try it and my friend loved it. After the first week, it was very drying but cleared up the bumps. I think within a month or two my skin was pretty much clear besides a few red marks from the product bringing a some pimples out. It worked great through my senior year and my first half year at college. Around the end of my freshman year, I started to get cystic acne on my chin. I thought maybe it might've been from hormonal medication. I stopped the medication and went to the dermatologist. The derm told me that proactiv was too harsh for my skin. He gave me antibiotics and told me to use a gentle cleanser. I tried Cerave with tretonin topical cream. It took a year to work and I broke out after make-up applications. (Skin sensitivity?) Try Proactiv again because I missed being completely clear. First few days my skin felt great; I was still breaking out while old ones healed which I was expecting for the first few weeks. My chin started getting bumps. After three and half weeks my chin broke out in full cystic acne that was painful. It started to spread to my cheeks. (I was only getting one or two pimples on Cerave.) After I stopped Proactiv and switched to Clean and Clear gentle antibacterial foaming wash, no new pimples and the old infected ones are trying to heal. My mom only uses Dove soap, my sister Clean and Clear, my boyfriend Dial, my girlfriend shampoo. (They have very little skin problems) Maybe I was doing too much and irritating my skin

Pros:

Clears acne/pimples
Refreshing

Cons:

Only lasts for a little while.

This product is known for being advertised the most. I'm sure no one have ever not seen this item on TV. We see celebrities on Tv using this item but we should all have this is mind: They are only actors and they get paid to act upon this "wonderful" item. We are getting too brainwashed my this item. This item does not work, it does only for a little while. It's not worth paying so much for this item.

Pros:

-cleared up my acne for 2 years

Cons:

-stopped working after 2 years
-skin adjusted to formula
-bleaches towels

I have sworn by this product for the last 2 years. I fell in love with it because within the first few weeks it seemed to clear up all of my acne. I didn't experience any irritation or dryness...I have moderate acne on my chin and jawline and nothing I tried would clear it up.. but Proactiv really seemed to work and all of my horrid acne problems seemed like they were finally fixed and I could go on living life. Flash forward 2 years, I started breaking out again, this time bad, especially around the chin area. It seems like my face has almost grown resistant to the Proactiv's BP formula. The worst part is, I have become so attached to this formula that I can't stop using it... even though it doesn't seem to be helping with my acne at all anymore. It is just a comfort thing that I have to do in the morning and at night... the three steps. So that's about it, it worked wonders for a couple years then fizzled out... now I'm stuck addicted to the routine of the 3 steps and I'm worried about using other BP products since my acne seems to be fighting the BP in Proactiv. I would recommend it for people looking for a quick fix for awhile... but definitely not a way to clear up your face forever like I was once fooled into believing :(

Pros:

I hate to say it, but there were no pros for me.

Cons:

Bleached my pillow cases (that only made me worried about what it was doing to my face)
Created even more pimples and I used this product for 2 months, which is longer than the time the product suggests. Drying feeling.

Honestly this product may work for some people, but I highly doubt that it works in 2 weeks like the commercials suggest. My brown pillow cases were bleached while I was using proactiv, and I don't even want to guess what it was doing to my face, but it sure as heck wasn't clearing up my zits.
