Pros:

Totally rid off deep acne and dried out existing ones.

Cons:

Did not prevent small pimples every now and then.

Extremely drying to the face, especially when using toner. I tried forgoing the toner and applying some other 'oil-free' moisturiser. Seemed to improve, but the small pimples still prevailed.

Cleanser: Using generous amounts massaged on a damp face provided the best thorough cleansing. Toner: Made my face look shiny (oily?). Stinks real bad. Repairing Lotion: Generous amounts recommended, with extra dabs on spots. (Recommended to use with an additional moisturiser.) The most affordable, user-friendly, and effective product I tried to prevent severe acne. Doesn't seem to stop minor pimples, however. Also, it causes over-drying which leads to the formation of wrinkles (at a young age)! No real effect on lightening scars. Fully agree with Sarah, Oklahom

Pros:

Cleared up my skin within 1-2 weeks
Don't need to cake on make-up anymore!
Leaves skin smooth

Cons:

A little drying

I've tried many different products for my acne, over the counter and prescription. Nothing can measure up to the Proactiv. I've been using it now for 2 weeks and for the first time in years, I can go out without caking on concealer or foundation. I had very minimal redness and drying from the 3 step program. Mostly around the nose, but a little moisturizer helped that. Proavtiv makes my skin look so smooth and toned. I really have no complaints. I'm so pleased with the prduct so far. I hope it will continue to help me. Try this product!!

Pros:

It clears up the skin for a bit

Cons:

Doesn't have any long term benefits
Only takes away pimples for a short time, but they return and usually bring friends

Its frustrating to use a product that works for a little while and then doesn't work, and then increases my acne problem. The only time proactiv ever fully worked for me for longer then a 2 weeks period was when I would do the steps 3 times a day. Not realistic at all. I can't continue to pay for a product that is expensive and doesn't actually do what it says!

Pros:

Decreased the amount of acne
Dried out acne
Decent scent

Cons:

Dried out rest of the skin
Itching and flaking

I've used Proactiv for a little under five months and it has done wonders to clear my skin. The Benzoyl Peroxide medication is terrific and helps to decrease the severity of any new blemishes. However, my face is now incredibly dry. I apply the Oil-Free Moisturizer five to six times a day. Any makeup that I use looks ridiculous with the flaky skin. Although I enjoy the clearer skin, I may discontinue use after my supply runs out and invest in another product. Despite this, it gets the job done and my acne has decreased.

Pros:

Keeps skin clear 90 percent of the time. Keeps skin from getting shiny, even clears up the rosacea on my cheeks.

Cons:

It does not cure acne it just PREVENTS it really well! When you use it do not get discouraged. It will take a week to see results and 2-3 weeks to have clear skin. Pricey $$.

It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Once you start you HAVE to keep using it so make sure you are prepared to keep buying it. I have really sensitive skin and this is the only OTC acne treatment I have found that does not dry-out/completely ruin my skin. I was VERY surprised to find it also cured the rosacea on my cheeks. Nice bonus. =)

Pros:

Helps to clear existing pimples fast.
Refining mask really makes a difference overnight.
Leaves skin feeling clean.

Cons:

Leaves face red/stingy right after use. It hasn't made a different in the # of pimples I get. Forgot to use it last night, woke up to a forehead COVERED in bumps, which is the one place I've never really had them before. And it is not cheap.

Don't waste your money. My acne wasn't a huge problem, until I started using proactive. It not only does not reduce the number of pimples I get, but EVERY single time I've forgotten to use it before bed, I've woken up with painful bumps, without fail. This last night was the end for me. To now have a forehead literally covered in bumps when I've rarely gotten a pimple there before is ridiculous. I understand that it says, "results may vary" on the comercial, but the results are NOTHING like them, if you have results at all. The refining mask is pretty good, I'll give them that. But still not worth the price.

Pros:

-It will help acne if used CONSISTENTLY.
-It is a complete system.

Cons:

-It can dry out your skin i the beginning.
-It is not a miracle in a bottle.

It works if you use is every day. If your skin gets dried out, only use it at night. Moisturize. Just pay attention to the signs that you skin is giving you. (Is it dry? Don't use Benzoyl Peroxide. Is it oily? Use the system and the mask.) Proactiv cannot guarantee that you will never have another pimple again, because you probably will. I recommend it because it has really helped me. I have much less acne, and my breakouts are less frequent. I am broken out right now, but I know that it will only last a few days because the product works.

Pros:

Leaves a refreshed feeling. The mask works good for cleaning.

Cons:

Doesn't work after about 3 weeks - a month.
It's Like a drug, once you stop using it, acne gets worse.

I used this product consistantly for about a year or more and nothing happened after about a month. MY acne came back and never went away. After I stopped using it, my acne got worse than it did before. I'm still trying to find something to calm it down again.

Pros:

Skin feels and looks smooth.

Cons:

Initial stinging, burning, & dryness (but goes away)

I'm Filipino w/ fair skin, combo oily t-zone & dryness. I would get the occasional pimples (not so much the cystic acne) around my chin & forehead. I still have dark blemishes from previous breakouts so I'm waiting for these to lighten (if ever). My skin felt smooth & clean after the first use. The next few days, I noticed irritation (red bumps), dryness, & stinging - as expected. I was starting to regret using it but I told myself I had to be patient. Now (two weeks later), my skin is less oily, the irritation & bumps have settled, & I'm glad I stuck through it. What really helped was not using the entire system everyday. I would use step 1 renewing cleanser whenever I needed to exfoliate (every 2-3 days) & followed up w/ my own moisturizer (w/ spf, yah!). The following day I would use my own facial cleanser & follow up w/ step 2 toner & my own moisturizer or step 3 repairing lotion (as needed). Your skin needs to adapt to the medication. We all have different skin thres

Pros:

easy to use kind of clears skin but not really

Cons:

burning itching & peeling

I have moderate acne so I decided what the hell i'll try it. When we first got it shipped it took FOREVER. I started usikng it and it cleared it up a little but now when I use it, it just gets dry and irritated. It makes my sking look worse oily and the redness doesn't go away. It might be different for other people but for me this "magic medicine" isn't working I just ordered murad's acne complex today and i'm gunna see if it works!
