Pros:

works quickly

Cons:

smells bad, repairing lotion looks oily

First of all, order off ebay (check descriptions for expiration dates) because [link removed] automatically bills you without notice. also, on ebay, you can order separate bottles. Okay, this didn't work for me until I used it in a way that suited my skin. I have sensitive skin, moderate acne. I apply everything to my face feather-lightly and don't leave products on for long. I'm gradually replacing the renewing cleanser (which annoys my skin) with a little soap (Bee and Flower, but I guess it doesn't matter). Then, I use the toner and a thin half finger line of repairing lotion. Twice a day, afternoon and night. Little breakouts occur from time to time (nothing is a cure) but for the most part my skin is soft and smooth. I'm thinking about trying Acne.org's stuff because I don't like proactiv's smell.

Pros:

NONE AT ALL

Cons:

- Billing without my consent
- Marcelo, Correspondence Specialist for Proactiv Solution is rude and ignorant
- Bad skin rash after use
- Spent over 45 minute to report my horrible skin reaction and to cancel my account...two month later, a new shipment was sent to me and I was charged again!

I contacted the office and reported a very bad skin reaction to the original Proactive a few months ago. I spoke to a customer service rep, who kept me on the phone for a long time. She insisted that she would send me a complimentary mild sample pack for me to try. It was explained that if I did not call back, my account would be canceled and no additional product will be shipped to me. Since the sample products still did not work for me, I never call you back to activate my account. However, today I received a package from the company! This is extremely frustrating! After I was kept on the phone for s long period of time to cancel my account, this mistake still occurred months later. I also continued to receive junk mail from them. The customer service rep, Marcelo, was infuriating. He would ignore my request for account cancellation and a full refund. He became arrogantly repetitive about Proactive's standard policy. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! Proactive has very shady business practices. They bill customers without their informed consent. It takes disturbingly long to try to cancel the account. They keep your credit card and address info, so that they would charge for items that were never ordered. Buyers BEWARE!!!

Pros:

Improvement on less severe acne

Cons:

Billed me without warning me for 3 months.
Acne scars aren't healing
Very time consuming
Costly
Causes cystic acne

I've been using this product for 2 months. They say that it typically takes 4-6 weeks to see dramatic improvement. I'm right around that time frame and don't get me wrong, a lot of my acne has gone away, but the cystic acne and the scars are still there. Any salycic acid or benzoyl peroxide scrub could cure the less annoying acne I had. I was hoping for improvement on my cystic acne and scars...Nothing. I do use the emergency dose of benzoyl peroxide they give you as a "free" gift on the cystic acne but they only give you so much... My skin gets real oily after i apply it. It's really time consuming too. After my first month was up, They billed me $90 for three months which I was totally unaware of. I want to hope that it will work, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to go to the doctor and get a legit cream cause I'm running out of money and patience.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Not only did this product not work at all, but the customer service was TERRIBLE! I only ordered one set of solutions and they proceeded to continue to send it to me once a month even though I did not order it this way. Then when I tried to send it back, it took several months before I was finally reimbursed!

It would be cheaper to go to the derm and get medicane!

Pros:

I was able to purchase this product at an 'As Seen On TV' Store, therefore was able to try the product without joining the autoship program.

I found that the program reduced the size of my pimples, although did not clear up my acne entirely. The refining mask is probably my favourite product in the kit, since it is pretty effective at reducing the size and inflammation of the annoying 'look at me' size pimples.

Cons:

Besides clearing up only half of the problem, this product made my face feel like it was on fire! Also as a second note, be very cautious to read the ingredient labels of any products you're combining with ProActiv. A moisturizer with retinol for example may be way too much if your skin is sensitive. Keep this product out of the eye area, especially if you're skin tends to wrinkle since it's so drying.

I had to stop using this because it was so harsh. If you have hormonal acne on your chin, you may be able to get away with just using it in that area. Overall value is mediocre.

ACNE GOT WORSE
works slowly if working
skin feels gross and dry

I've always had moderate acne that got worse around my time of the month I haven't used facial care for acne in years instead i use more natural products. After my skin broke out worse then ever i decided to try proactive. Since I've started use nothing has changed my acne may even be worse. I'm trying to use it differently by following the program on this website i hope it works.

Pros:

Decent Product

Cons:

Auto Billing

I bought Proactive in College (10 years ago) and paid 19.99 a month for 30 day supply. I figured that's what they were advertising again, so I ordered more for my wife a few months ago. We paid the 19.95 they advertise now, and we noticed the bottles were smaller. We figured they just got cheap on us. We called and canceled because the acne cleared up and we found some good stuff at the store that was basically the same stuff and worked just as well. We canceled too late and the second shipment was on it's way. We figured it was fine.. another 19.95. No problem. Instead, it was more like 67.00. We didn't even know or open the box. I checked my account a few months later and realized they sent us a 90 day supply. Too late to return it now. They got us. Keep this in mind if you buy! There are alternatives that are basically the same product. Don't fall for their marketing and do some research. It will save you money.
