Pros:

Their Green Tea Moisturizer was actually good.

Cons:

The regular strength formula tore my face up -- caused peeling and severe dryness. Switched to gentle formula, no peeling or dryness, but made me break out even more. Plus it's expensive.

Doesn't work. Save your money. Buy a gentle cleanser (Cetaphil or Neutrogena) and wash your face with that. Proactiv recommends washing face with a wash before their cleanser anyway. It may work for some, but definitely not me. In fact, I feel like it's made me break out more. And I had very light acne to begin with, but when I did get it, they would be big deep ones. Now I've got them on my chin, the top of my eyebrows and side of my mouth. RIDICULOUS.

Pros:

Smelt good, easy three step system, BP treatment has 2.5%

Cons:

Cleanser is an exfoliant, irritating for acne especially severe cystic acne.

I used proactive religiously for 6 months and my severe cystic acne only got worse and worse. I have been on the regimen system for only three weeks and have amazing results when I maybe saw with proactive after 2 months of use...then my acne got worse... Proactive is hyped up by celebrities and dermatologists I have never heard of....with research and understanding Dan's techniques with use of the regimen, you have to approach acne with a gentle touch...NO SCRUBS OR MICRO SCRUBS! that aggravates acne and that is the reason why my skin never got better! Plus on top of that I was putting BP on it! It wasn't healing and it was as if somebody put lemon on an open wound...how in the heck is that wound suppose to heal and be soothed if you keep burning it and irritating it?? Duhhhh....so BOTTOM LINE.....do not waste your money on it and try the regimen instead! If anything the BP in proactive is the only good thing out of that system.

Pros:

Took less than a week to work
Got rid of all types of blemishes
Improved skin tone

Cons:

Drying

I've had bad adult acne for the past 3 years, and didn't try Proactiv because I had allergic reactions to benzyl peroxide in high school. So I have been using otc acne washes/meds as well as Zen Med, which helped with some of the pus-filled zits, but not the flesh-colored whiteheads (you know the ones that you aren't supposed to squeeze but you do anyway and a tiny stream of something gross and white comes curling out? Yeah, I know, gross). I used my sister's Proactive one night because I had no other cleanser options, and because I had no negative reactions, I decided to give it a go. I don't want to get anybody's hopes up, but this cleared up my zits AND my whiteheads in less than two weeks. I haven't worn face makeup for the last month and that is a first in a loooong time! I don't know if it stops working after a certain amount of time like some say, but I will continue using it until then because it is freaking awesome and I feel so good about my totally clear skin! On a side note, I'm super sensitive to breakouts using even the gentlest of moisturizers, so I use the Dual Action Moisturizer, Target brand, to help with the drying and I use the face wash twice a day, but the toner and cream only at night.

Pros:

expensive

Cons:

Proactive is a rip off and a devious company that will sign you up for a subscription without your consent.

Don't buy from proacitive's website. They have vending machines in malls so you don't get signed up without your consent for a subscription that is $30/month. Heed my warning don't buy from [link removed]

Pros:

Clears your acne.

Cons:

May dry your skin

I've been using Proactiv for about 2 months and it has been helping my skin a lot! I used to have pimples everywhere on my back but now most of them has cleared up! Proactiv may dry your skin though. The first 4 days, my skin was RED! I used it once a day instead of two now. But it really clears up your skin! Proactiv worked for me, but it may not work for everyone. Yes, I do recommend Proactiv. But if you have very sensitive skin, I suggest that you don't use this.

Pros:

Great for treating acne, HOWEVER, be very cautious when purchasing product from Proactiv.

Cons:

Deceitful company, which is a shame because the product is good. With misleading gimmicks, customer service reps that will give you a different answer every time and unauthorized charges to my credit card I would rate this company a 1.

1 Borderline crooks.

Pros:

are none except it makes your skin soft

Cons:

this product does NOT work! Has anyone ever noticed how many times a day that stupid commercial comes on? maaaybee it's because they are dessperate to sell it. However, it seems like it'll clear up one pimple but then 2 more will pop up! So frustrating! I can not stand this product it's just as bad as over the counter sh*t you buy at CVS or Walgreens. If you have acne go see a pro about it dont get this.

This product is over rated and people should know about it. Go see a doctor if you have bad acne and want to get it cleared up or get a chemical peel or something done.
