Pros:

I love the mask that comes with the kit.

Cons:

Made my skin worse!

Do not use this! When I first started to develop acne, I used the products that I found in retail stores (Neutrogena, ect). When that didn't work, I used Proactiv and it worked for a little while, but then it just stopped clearing up my skin. After Proactiv, I got the Murad Acne Complex, and this has made my skin so awful. I am having breakouts where I never had them before. My pimples are redder and bigger than they've ever been, and my skin hasn't been clear since the moment I started using it. It's a waste of time and money and now my skin is so bad that I have to go to a dermatologist!

Pros:

works for me+ not irritating

Cons:

$$$expensive$$$

This is the first product I have used where I have been consistantly clear. I can leave the house without make up now YAY. I tried proactiv which was very irritating to me and only made my skin marginally better. Murad has a more soothing cooling sensation to it. I think the main reason people are having problems with it is b/c they haven't gotten the right products for thier skin type. I was told that the kit tends to be very irritating, and that I only need the cleanser and the toner(which was cheaper so I was happy)). Murad is expensive but I justify the price by the fact that it has better ingredients than proactive (such as vitamin E, grape seed extract(antioxidants) and salycilic acid which prevent wrinkles).

Pros:

works for me

Cons:

expensive

the clarifiying cleanser has really been the only cleanser that keeps my acne under control... ive tried many cleansers but most of them make me dry and look pink and feel tight not good... this cleanser dosent make me tight and it really stopps the acne.. i rarely get pimples ne more probably 1 a week if that... i dont use the gel because it makes me red so i just use the skin perfecting lotion moisturizer and those 2 products seem to keep my acne under control

Pros:

-the perfecting lotion

Cons:

-sulfur creates dry patches
-using for 4.5 weeks... no real improvement

-doesn't clear up post-acne marks -doesn't prevent new pimples, although it does get rid of pimples -it's whatevers: didn't make me break out, but didn't clear up skin. $_____$

This never cleared up my skin instead i started getting dry patches. It was very irritating to use but it did help a bit with the acne ... although i still have quite bad breakouts ... overall i wouldnt recomend it!

Pros:

glycolic acid is awesome.

Cons:

aloe vera makes me break out bad!!

UPDATE - UGH. DON'T DO IT!! it only got clearer when i used the moisturizing acne lotion instead of the exfoliating acne gel...and that was *clearer* mind you, not clear! when i alternated back to the gel i broke out again worse than ever...then i found out its FULL OF ALOE VERA. some people say aloe is fine for their acne, but for most people its terribly aggravating, and the fact that dr. murad made it the 3rd ingredient in his main treatment is rediculous. so, mystery solved, its not just purging, its the aloe vera that's giving everyone these horrible bumps and pustules everywhere. the glycolic acid combined with the salycilic acid really does give you a lovely even tone, but if you're covered in zits what's the point?? there are other products that use glycolic acid. because of murad my skin has been the worst its ever been for 2 months, i have to go get microdermabrasion, i'm on antibiotics, and i'm praying proactive will fix it because PROACTIVE REALLY WORKS. no gimmicks.
