Pros:

The clarifying cleanser makes my face feel very soft.

Cons:

After 2 weeks of use the clarifying toner and exfoliating gel make my face burn and become red. The burning only lasts a short time and by morning, the redness is gone
DRY, DRY, DRY SKIN - by far the worst part for me

I will be 30 this yr. I have suffered from acne since being a preteen. I have used proactive, neutrogena, clearasil, along with every other over the counter product available. It is true, products work for some people and not for others. I am 3 weeks in to trying Murad. Because I have sensitive skin, I am only using this product 1 time a day. I am a little disappointed because my face has become VERY dry, like when I used Proactive. The doctor said dryness would not occur. And that has become the worst part for me. I will keep with it, I know it will get worse, before it gets better. The medicine has to draw out all the dirt in order to heal. I'm expecting to have more breakouts. I am hoping that by my birthday in August, I will have clear beautiful skin, as this product advertises! The paperwork I received when I purchased Murad said I would have clear skin by March 22....we will see and I will update my review as things change.

Pros:

It sounds professional.

Cons:

It made my face look like garbage, and I have the pictures to prove it. I have had to purchase make up, concealer, you name it, and my skin looks terrible. I have NEVER had breakouts so bad. I used Proactiv for years, and the old formula seemed to no longer work, and plus I wanted to try something new, but what a mistake that was. This is the worse product ever created.

This product is absolutely terrible, and will ruin any chances of beautiful skin. Even my upper chest and neck have broken out. They started recommending other products and I was reluctant because they had nothing to do with my skin care concerns. I should have stayed with what I was using. This product line has ruined my skin. My skin looks worse than it ever did before and I promise you if they do not get it together, I will be contacting my representatives.

Its Amazing
I am completely aware that people have had horrible experiences with this product. But many others have had it work wonders on their skin! This is the case for probably ever acne system out there. When you choose to try an acne treatment you are putting your skin at risk of any side effects that treatment may cause. Different people will have different experiences with every type of product, because acne is very complex and everyone has different reasons for their acne ( and different skin ). So, this is MY personal experience with the Murad Acne Complex that I bought from the official website. I've had acne since Grade 6. I am now 18 years old. My acne is very complicated. Sometimes it'll randomly go away, without any product. And then randomly it will achieve the worst breakout I have ever had. I have most likely used every acne treatment out there. I have been prescribed medication, orally and stuff you put of your skin. I have tried pro active many, many times. It is a good product but it stopped working on my skin after my many years of using it. I have also tried organic soaps and pills and body cleansers and all of that stuff. All of these products would work on my skin but it wouldnt stop more breakouts from happening. I first used Murad In Gr.9, a few years into my mild/serious acne. It worked very well I had no negative or horrifying side effects like others speak about. But, my acne wasn't only due to dirt and excess oils. It was hormonal. So, again my acne still appeared. Murad did improve it greatly but hormonal acne will not be stopped by face wash. So, when I turned 17 I started on birth control that helps acne. Then I made the mistake of using pro active again. The benzoyl peroxide does not do well on my skin. So now I am 18 and I just started using Murad again. It in three days has reduced my acne 50%. It has had o negative effects at all. ( knock on wood ). And I will continue using Murad for as long as I need to. It is the only promising and safe acne treatment I have ever used over the 8 years I have been suffering with acne. Along with the treatment I will be drinking a lot more water, eating healthy, and exercising more. Because no matter who you are and what type of acne you have doing those things will improve your skin, maybe not heal it but it will make a difference. In conclusion, I would recommend this but id also like to remind everyone acne is extremely complex and there will be no magic cure that works for everyone.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Dont ever you this product, it is like washing your face with pure acid! Used product for 2 days and had a massive reaction, caused severe redness, pain, dryness, swelling and thousands of yellow blisters on my face. I was unrecognisable!!!!!

I have always suffered from acne prone skin since I was 10 years old and I am now 29. I have been prescibed many tablets and lotions including roaccutane but nothing worked for me until I found proactive which was amazing for my skin. As id been using proactive for the last 3 years I was advised to change my product and was recommended murad acne complex. This was the worse mistake I have ever made. I used the 3 step product the clarifying cleanser, toner and acne treatment gel and after only 2 uses my face had a massive reaction. After my second application of the product within hours my face started to severely burn, sting and itch. My apperance was horrific and I could hardly recognise myself. My face was bright red, extremely tight and painful and covered in hundreds of yellow blister type pimples all over my face. The pain was so bad I was unable to sleep. I saw a doctor and was prescribed oral steroids, steroid cream, antibiotics, antihistamines and anti imflammatory drugs to try and calm down the reaction. This product should not be allowed to be sold its so dangerous!!!!!! I thought having acne was bad but nothing compared to my experience of murad. DONT USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

The cleanser does make your face feel clean and fresh. Mask does draw out pimples.

Cons:

My face broke out after about two weeks of using the system. Face would burn after applying the product.

I have been a faithful user of BP for years, but decided I wanted to try and get away from it, because it can be a bit harsh for my skin. I heard "rave" reviews about how wonderful Murad was, and decided to try it. If anything - it would be any different than what I was currently using. My face broke out fairly bad (at least compared to how my face was). I could only stand using the system for four weeks, and at that point I was afraid that I was going to get premanent scarring if I continued. I switched back to BP last night, and my skin already looks better. I know Murad works for some people. It did not work for me. I learned my lesson - the painful way.

Pros:

Works for at least some people - but very rarely.

Cons:

Exfoliating gel burns and irritates my face.

I had moderate acne with a few scars that i wanted to get rid of. So i decided to use Murad to make my face clear - instead my face broke out to the extreme leaving my skin worse than it was before. I've been using their products for 3 weeks and a couple of days - almost the recommended 4 weeks, but my face broke out so much, that i'm more than 100% sure will not take only a couple of days to clear up.

Love!
I've tried countless products, oral, topical, prescription, otc, you name it I've tried it. Epiduo was one of the inly things to help my skin but unfortunately insurance wouldn't cover and it was too pricey without insurance. I've been suffering from acne since I was 15 and I'm now 26. I went and had an acne facial and the lady recommended this product. After reading reviews I was almost scared to try it! Luckily I decided to go ahead with it and within a week I noticed a lot of clearing. Still hesitatant, I wanted to give it a few more weeks and now my skin is almost completely clear! Ive never once written a review before but this worked wonders for me and with all the negative reviews on this I felt the need to share my positive experience! Love love love this stuff and I'm so grateful for my newly cleared skin

Pros:

Noticeable decrease in acne breakouts

Cons:

After using Murad once (the three step process) a few days ago, my skin is so irritated, dry, SWOLLEN, and RED!!! It's so much worse, I would trade 3 acne breakouts for the terrible feeling my face has right now. I do not have sensitive skin AT ALL, and I am suffering from this product. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they recalled this product.

I will never recommend Murad, don't listen to the ads on TV, Murad will not decrease redness (it will induce it!), it IS like all other acne products that dry out your skin, except worse because it also makes your face swollen! Yes, Murad will decrease your pimples, but it will do so painfully. I put Murad on two nights ago for the first time, I woke up this morning with a swollen, red, and itchy face. My face is still itching and I just know my face will only get worse because I keep having to touch it! I am not the only one, look up alergic reaction Murad, and you will find a plethora of people like me, who have oily/combination (but not sensitive) skin who have had this type of reaction. Please do not try this product.

Pros:

CLEARED MY SKIN! Smells good, lasts a long time, afforable, get it at sephora(online or at store)....super love this product

heals acne fast if i pick at it

Cons:

made my skin breakout the 2nd-3rd week of using it and brought them to white heads that i had to pick at but the moisturizer and spot treatment heals it fast

also the gel stings the first couple weeks but it lessened as my skin got clearer.

I LOVE THIS STUFF! i used proactiv for years but it stopped working for me.. murad got rid of all my little underground bumps on my forehead and cleared my chin up. the first week it did some clearing, but the 2nd/3rd my face was bad (also because i break out before my period) so i was expecting it to anyway. i had gross white heads on my chin that i had to pick at- but the sulfur spot treatment healed them within 2 days. its the 4th week and i am so happy with the results. my skin is clear and i cant believe. i recommend this to anyone with skin that doesnt take to benzoyl peroxide. murad uses sulfur (love it) and salicyic acid. try it and give it atleast 4-5 weeks. i hope it works for you :o)
